School is in session: Dana Loesch shreds ‘uneducated’ Musket Morgan on guns

The whiners are out in full force after conservative warrior Dana Loesch absolutely roasted Piers Morgan — and Van Jones (whose political affiliation, by the way, was conspicuously omitted) — last night in a gun control debate.

Witness the smackdown in all its glory (via Jim Hoft):

Are you not entertained??? We sure as hell are. It’s not every day you get to see a pompous blowhard get cut down to size in such spectacular fashion.

Morgan didn’t like that, of course:

Well, naturally! It’s what he does best:

Troll, baby, troll!

Is that a rhetorical question?

Wethinks you can’t admit defeat, Piers.

Loesch used Morgan’s own logic against him.

By falsely tying saving lives to the number of rounds allowed in a magazine Morgan inadvertently answered that he would prefer zero rounds in the chamber, using his logic and the standard of measurement he himself established.

In Morgan’s mind, that makes this an unfair fight. Truth be told, though, any fight requiring the use of intellect is unfair for Piers.

This is what deflection looks like.

Loesch wasn’t in any mood to put up with Morgan’s tantrums:

Maybe when he’s finished huffing and puffing. It could be a while. When he does decide to simmer down:

You’re not afraid of a little assault radio, are you Piers?

Simpleminded, namecalling lefties like Jeeves Morgan are not hard to come by.

Time to return him to his chauffeuring/doorman duties at CNN and bring back Larry King.

  • tony30088

Piers is just mad because he is outsmarted by a gun toting girl. :-)

    • alanstorm

To be fair, he could have (and probably has been) outsmarted by a moldy ham sandwich.

I love the assertion “But I didn’t actually SAY that…” as if the logical consequences of a statement or action are somehow out of bounds. I hear Obama defenders use a variant all the time – “He never SAID he was a Socialist!”. Well, that might might be the case, but given his actions, his words, and his choice of allies, there is no other logical conclusion to draw.

There is another variation on the same theme: “He CAN’T be a socialist – he didn’t do this or that!”. Using this logic, one may conclude that a baseball team that doesn’t win all its games is not actually a baseball team.

But then, if lefties knew how to use logic, they wouldn’t be lefties, would they?

  • R.C.

I watched the video over at T.H. before seeing this on Twitchy. Loesch was awesome, as was the nra fellow. Libs cant handle the truth. More so they cant handle an argument that uses their tactics.

  • R.C.

“To argue with someone who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.” Thomas Paine

    • June Clinkenbeard

That is one brilliant quote and totally appropriate to the case at hand. I’m going to “steal” it. Thanks!

      • R.C.

I believe Mr. Paine wouldn’t mind at all. Too bad hes not around to ask personally.

        • June Clinkenbeard

Clever. My admiration was not only in regard to the quote but in your very timely and apropos usage of it, a rarity on the Internet. While I did not intend to apply genius status to your usage, I wanted to express my appreciation for the quote, as it was previously unknown to me. Thank you for playing. Please drive thru.

          • R.C.

Not sure what you mean, June.

Apply this to my statement above; someone will be rich when context of ones words scribbled on the internet are known as they would be if said face to face.

Now ill explain; as for “Mr. Paine wouldn’t mind” I was just being silly and “wish he were here today” would be more appropriate for my second sentence.

I believe our founders would spin in their graves if they could see the depths to which our discourse in Washington has sunk. And his quote would aptly apply to most of our elected officials.

  • CatHerder

So lovely and so, so deadly. Dana’s wit should be registered with the Libs as a lethal weapon 😉

  • Michelle

She correctly and absolutely nailed him on the disarming intention. When they spoke of 30 round magazines being banned, but 7 round magazine are OK – Dana nailed it, so that means they’re OK with seven deaths because it’s less than 30 deaths. This is where the anti-gun folks lose they’re argument. I believe EVERYONE in this country is for zero deaths of children (or anyone for that matter). And when Piers said 7 deaths were better than 30 because it’s 23 less deaths – BINGO that means he accepts 7 deaths. Appalling and he totally wiped out his argument at that point. And when Dana called him out on that, asking where he draws the line at deaths – 30 not OK with Piers, 7 is OK because it’s 23 less – THEN said he wants ZERO deaths, that can only be interpreted as he wants guns banned. Because the problem is not the capacity of the magazine, the problem is we’ve become a society that sensationalizes violence as a means of conflict resolution. We’ve become a society that has determined the “privacy” of a mentally ill person or not jumping to conclusions when an eminent mental meltdown is on the way is more important than public safety. We’ve become a society that believes coddling a young person’s feelings is more important than disciplining them. Media makes a celebrity of a mass murderer and their victims are nothing more than a number that is correlated to the level of horrific their shooting spree resulted in. Violent movies, violent interactive video games, a complete disconnect in our mental health system, the media glorifying the shooter, etc. ARE THE REASONS THESE KILLINGS HAPPEN. If I were so inclined to go on a shooting rampage, I could get 30 rounds off in a matter of moments – dropping a 10 round mag with my thumb and inserting a fully loaded one takes ONLY SECONDS. Mag capacity IS NOT THE ISSUE.

And she nailed it on the “military style” weapon and calling those two fools out on that nonsense. There is no such thing as a “military style” easily accessible to the public. Military uses select fire guns (auto to semi-auto option). An AR-15 as sold to the public is not select fire, but because it COSMETICALLY resembles a “military” gun, the uneducated people like Piersy Morgan remain confused and stupid.

    • AaronHarrisinAlaska

Except current correlation and numbers say those aren’t the reasons. It’s the opposite actually. With the rise of violent movies in the 80s and violent games in the 90s the number of violent crimes have gone down. What really causes violent out bursts, be it mental health, up bringing, or some unknown other factor is just that: an unknown factor.

      • Michelle

I wasn’t speaking about “violent crimes” in general, I speaking specifically of mass shootings. General violent crime may have gone down over the years (I’ll take your word for it), but mass shootings have absolutely and without doubt increased. I went to the school in the 80’s, and we never NEVER had to worry about someone coming on campus and killing students, it’s (most unfortunately) a little too common these days. And yes, violent movies are more prevalent now than back then. And yes, video games have most definitely changed. We played Pac Man, Space Invaders, Centipede, etc. Video games today are all about killing, they are interactive, they desensitize young minds to the value of life. And yes, the presence of discipline and taking personal responsibility for one’s actions have absolutely declined over the decades. We also have a generation or two behind us that have been raised on medication. ADD? We have a med for that. ADHD? We have a med for that. More than EVER before a much larger segment of young generations are being raised on mind changing medication. My point was, it’s time to stop focusing on the weapon a shooter uses and more on why more and more and more people are committing mass murder. It’s NOT the guns – the very same guns were available when I was growing up (even fully auto guns were easily available) and we never had this going on to this extent. What’s changed? Society.

        • June Clinkenbeard

Well, using your logic I would be a murdering idiot since I have logged untold hours playing Doom. All things being as they are now, would school shootings occur if schools had armed security and/or pistol packing teachers? I don’t think so.

People who feel marginalized and have some form of impaired mental capacity will seek to go out in “a blaze of glory” if you will. Finally they will be given the attention they feel entitled to and so richly deserve. The “I’ll show you” scenario that used to be an angry kid packing up his Underoos to run away for a day to the neighbor’s house, has increasingly lead to a much more violent expression of this simple childhood experience. It is also a product of the times that we have 24/7 news and information to disseminate the horrors people do to one another, and that plays in perfectly to the infamy these sick individuals so desperately crave.

          • Michelle

Well, using the anti-gun folks’ logic, I would be a murdering idiot just because I own semi-automatic weapons and some that look really, really scary including an AR-15. I didn’t blame the entirety of the problem on video games. I actually listed many causes, but you zeroed in on the video games because that personally applies to you and you are confident playing the games has no impact on you. I believe that. Just as I am confident owning guns has no impact on my mind that would cause me to do horrific things. BUT the point was, a combination of a declining society, lack of personal responsibility, medicated youth, hyper violent movies, interactive video games, etc. so on and so forth are FAR more to blame for mass shootings than the object used in the shooting. The guns have been available all along, for decades, but we didn’t have these shooting to this degree when I was growing up. If it’s the guns, why didn’t these shootings happen to this frequency decades ago? What has changed? Everything impacting young and troubled minds, and it’s not the guns so it’s time to stop blaming the guns.

      • KhadijahMuhammad

Read Freakonomics. It’s not “unknown” at all. Dump any crime database, and you’ll find that violent crime is a hobby of young male adults. The 80’s and 90’s surge is completely explained with the tail end of the baby boom entering their 20’s, and the crime dropoff since then is explained by the fact that they then moved out of their 20’s into their 30’s and now older.

As to violent movies, what the science shows is that there is a small minority of individuals in society that are extremely influenced by and prone to copy violent activities they see on screen. That fact doesn’t change with the above statistics.

        • mike

That’s not true. It has FAR more to do with the reality that our society refuses to admit to its failures. Refuses to admit to the reality that they were wrong. That MUSIC, VIOLENCE IN GAMES AND IN TELEVISION CLEARLY HAS AN IMPACT ON PEOPLE. That minds, especially young minds are impressionable easily and that sticks. Desensitizing the youth in this Country has happened over the past 20 years…
Its just more BOYS played GAMES and Watch Violence on TV. Also boys have larger egos and testosterone. Being impressionable is a fact of life. My generation back in the 80s tried to push that WE CAN HANDLE IT. And censorship was basically ended for the most part and we are reaping the results of that.

    • June Clinkenbeard

I agree wholeheartedly. I kept waiting for her to use the word arbitrary with regard to number of bullets in a magazine. There is NO logic in randomly choosing a number because of some perceived notion of safety. I seem to recall in history, many many deaths through violent means *before* the invention of gun powder. If there were zero guns in all of the US, murders would still continue. If an individual can not only imagine killing another human being, but he can carry out the deed, it doesn’t much signify his chosen method of execution. Is it easier to shoot someone than say, garroting them? Undoubtedly, but who can account for the weapons choice of mad men? Frankly, I think it took Morgan so long to properly address Dana’s questions because he didn’t understand what she was talking about. Drawing a corollary between rounds in a magazine and the deaths of children is specious on it’s face.

      • Tom Bannigan

When they have people from the left in colleges and other places, who have actually carried out bombing raids on other Americans, then I think the issue is worse then we think.

    • JR48

Progs are always confused by SLGs (scary looking guns), but usually have no clue as to what they can actually DO.

I admit that I was, too. I’m not a gun enthusiast but I’ve gotten quite an education during this entire debate. There is a massive difference between what a gun can do and what it looks like. There is no correlation between the two.

And there is just so much misinformation flying around, especially by the left. They’re debating a subject that they literally have no real knowledge about.

  • Hired Mind

I think if I went on one of these shows I would put in a hearing-aid-like earpiece that I could use to simply mute the other people and keep talking.

That’s the only way to talk to leftists…

    • Scott Anderson

The best way to talk to a leftist is to first punch them in the throat, and then kick them in the groin.

      • Hired Mind

I agree that would the most satisfying way, but best?

Nah – we should be the ones taking the high road.

      • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

You would sully yourself, touching their person?

    • June Clinkenbeard

Oh, I wouldn’t like that at all. While I find Liberals arguments to be irritating in there absolute refusal to see things as they are, rather than in what they believe it to be, I like to be aware of what “they” are saying and doing.

Sun Tzu knew what he was talking about in “The Art of War” when he said, “It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.”

  • 1SkepticalChick

Gotta love Dana Loesch! Piers (urp, excuse me.) not so much.

  • frogmouth

Sadly, Dana and any number of others could talk until they are blue in the faces, quoting nothing but facts and irrefutable logic and Piers, Van and their ilk are never NEVER going to change their minds because they just KNOW they are smarter than everyone else and they know best what is good and bad and how to solve all the world’s problems if you peasants would just sit down and shut up, already. LALALALALA…I can’t hear you! LALALAFINGERSINMYEARSLALALA!

    • GaryTheBrave

Excellent point. The purpose for going on these shows is to inform the viewer/listener, not the already bigoted and prejudiced host. There are likely people who are watching who are agnostic on the topic at hand. We are attempting to reach those folks.

  • ZoriahShepard

“The difference between 30 and 7 rounds is 23.” I’m so happy that Piers can do simple math.

    • mike_in_kosovo

Too bad he can’t do simple logic.

    • mdtljt

I found it astounding he actually subtracted correctly seeing as how facts in general are such a pesky issue for him…

  • $27789750

The majority of gun owners do not agree with Morgan. You lose Piers. A lot of damaged male ego on display. Good foryou Dana.

    • VerminMcCann

That’s not male ego. It’s progressive bullshit.

  • VerminMcCann

Poor Piers. He got his ass kicked by a girl, then lied about being misquoted until someone pointed out that he hadn’t been quoted at all. Now he’s been forced to cry about a misplaced syllable.

    • Frustrated Teacher

The funny thing is he KEEPS having her on and KEEPS getting his ass kicked, then denying that it happened. The man is completely delusional as well as moronically stupid AND devoid of the power to accept facts that counter his unreasoned arguments! And yet, he says, “Thank you Dana, may I have another”!

  • Anderson

Every time she spanks PM, I love her just a little bit more.

    • Red Fred

LOVED that she wouldn’t let them shut her down.

  • Gallatin

Gen. Stanley McChrystal says they are military style assault weapons do you disagree with him?

Why yes piersy I do because he is an employee of the Federal Government, the same Federal Government that wants to confiscate my guns.

    • Richard Jefferies

Homeland Security, when buying 7000 AR-15, called them “selective fire rifles suitable for personal defense.”

    • ThorOdinson

This just goes to show just how much of a blazing moron Piers is. Who CARES what someone calls something? Do they become worse because someone refers to them as “Super Killy Bazookas of Murder/Death/Kill”? What matters is FUNCTION, how something WORKS, and AR-15’s DO NOT FUNCTION like actual military assault rifles.

  • ML

I am a gun owner, and I do not agree with you, Van.

  • Ms Anonymous

Why do we even care what a subject of Her Majesty, the Queen of England has to say about the fundamental rights of an American citizen? Unlike Piers, our rights were not bestowed upon us by a Monarch. Morgan lacks the ability to understand the American perspective and he should just shut the hell up and show a little bit of respect for a system of government that was created to PROTECT inalienable rights.

    • June Clinkenbeard

Because some idiot at CNN gave him a platform and a microphone, where he sits endlessly spewing his incredible lack of knowledge regarding anything having to do with reality. Therefore, it is our job as Americans to combat every little turd of incorrect information this shameless git feels compelled to share with our beloved country. I also think we should ride him like the horses’s ass he is early and often. Why you may ask? Because he can’t last forever. Eventually Piers and his pitiful ratings will go the way of the Dodo. He’s unsustainable. Only then can he take his rightful place among the Valhalla of ignorant buffoons, MSNBC. Forward!

  • ImYer Huckleberry

Morgan & Carrey, two idiots that need to be deported.

  • Guest

What gets me about Morgan is that he is a typical LIBERAL. He CONSTANTLY wants to Summarize what someone is saying. And when it happens to him and the person doing it to him is CORRECT, Unlike what he usually does, then he doesn’t like it.

Morgan was schooled and looks the fool.

NO DOUBT he needs to get out of the debate.

He tried his ass off for months and FINALLY Dana Loesch was able to pull his card and he didn’t like it so he tried to make it appear that Dana Quoted him!!

  • MaddMedic

Reblogged this on Freedom Is Just Another Word… and commented:
Poor Pisshead Morgan. Whipped again…He should jsut pack his panties and go home to England…..

  • MileHighinAZ

Does Piers Morgan have a similar concern for the number of deaths from COLD WEATHER in his own homeland? THIRTY THOUSAND deaths are expected in Great Britain from the prolonged cold weather. Shouldn’t he be like, I don’t know, calling for a ban or something?

  • SideshowJon36

This video is instructive on how Liberals react if you don’t let them shout you down

  • Mike G.

How Long until Piers audience capacity is a zero? Ready for for the next new Non-American to tell us how to run this great country.

  • John Beam

Methinks that Mr. Morgan will spend the next couple of weeks allowing only mindless collectivist drones on his program, in order to build back his deranged ego.

  • JR48

Dana needs to repeat this as well should others: You can shoot a lot of people with a six shot revolver if you have a pocket full of speed loaders.

I’ve got LEOs in my family, I’ve seen it in action. I’ve closed my eyes and heard my own brother unload a revolver so fast it sounded like an automatic weapon. It’s not about the gun, it’s about the shooter. If the person using the gun is good at what they do, they don’t need fancy equipment.

Facts making gun bans stupid. Keep using facts in public. Scary looking gun laws protect no one.

  • gekkobear

Well they just want a limited Mag Ban, like the one they passed in Colorado… it wasn’t that bad, right?

Hey, you have a removable base plate on your magazine for maintenance and cleaning (I know this because all commercially produced magazines have this).

That means you can place an extension on it.. so it is “designed to be readily converted to accept more than 15 rounds of ammunition” regardless of original size.

All magazines are “large capacity” by the rules of the left; they’re just hoping you won’t notice until the bans take effect and they can remove magazines required for the use of over 99% of all pistols an d95% of all guns in the US.

But don’t worry, it’s just a minor ban… assuming you think you can trust them and can’t trust your own lying eyes and read their legislation for yourself.

  • lcky9

I sure wish ONE of the two would have pointed out that gang bangers cause MORE deaths per year than ANY other group .. and usually it’s BLACK on BLACK .. and that BLACKS have the HIGHEST rate of ABORTIONS kill MORE BLACK BABIES than any other group.. and ask how their fear of weapons they incorrectly identify OR smaller clips would help the LARGEST group of kids being killed??? IF they are REALLY worried about THE CHILDREN.. INSTEAD of using the CHILDREN to disarm AMERICAN’S..

  • Frustrated Teacher

Vann and Piers (and Feinstein, and Biden, and Obama and….) keep lying about the reality and statistics…over and over again. They also lie and mislead about what the guns can and can’t do. They also lie about the effect of the laws they propose on the crimes they claim they will stop. They prattle on an on hammering points that are consistently destroy by reality and the facts. This is NOT about the children…it is about control and confiscation and they won’t stop until they have destroyed the 2nd Amendment and left us all defenseless….except for themselves and their government.
