Note to Obama: The media believe your Twitter account retweeted a photo of John Lennon’s bloody glasses

On Wednesday, Yoko Ono sent a series of pro-gun control tweets featuring a photo of John Lennon’s bloodstained glasses.

This one was retweeted by the @BarackObama Twitter account.

That’s a pretty graphic message from the president of the United States.

But as White House press secretary Jay Carney insisted earlier this month, the verified @BarackObama account is run by an “independent organization” — Organizing for Action. The @BarackObama Twitter bio still proudly proclaims that “Tweets from the President are signed -bo,” and OFA continues to run the “Barack Obama” Facebook page and

Independent: We do not think it means what you think it means. Kinda like “non-partisan.”

And judging by these tweets and headlines, neither do some media outlets:

While the Washington Post article linked by BuzzFeed points out that the @BarackObama account is run by Organizing for Action, the deck calls it “President Obama’s Twitter account.”

Perhaps the president should look into truly distancing himself from that completely “independent” @BarackObama account. Then again, a guy who uses children as human prop-aganda for his gun-grabbing push is probably pretty comfortable with taking credit for retweeting a photo of Lennon’s bloody glasses.

If anything that picture should represent why no one is doing or saying a damn thing about mental health in this country.

    • Katy Cordeth

That’s the impression I’ve gained from reading the comments on this thread.

    • Hiraghm

Because if they’d done anything about mental health in this country, Yoko would be making her tweet in crayon from a rubber room.

  • Spatial Awareness

Joseph Goebbels is smiling. .@yokoono How about you give us the number of ABORTIONS too.

    • Constitution First

104 million since Roe V Wade.

      • Spatial Awareness

  • CatHerder

Again, how many potential citizens have been aborted in the same time span?

    • @chris_1791

47,000,000 babies have been murdered by their very own mothers since John Lennon was shot & killed on Dec 8, 1980. Puts things into perspective doesn’t it?!

  • ChampionCapua

Let me know when they re-tweet the bloody handprints photo from Benghazi. Over a million lies have been told to the People by their Government since that day.

    • BlueGood

Bang on ChampC…Never let those CREEPs forget….

    • snyper77

      great reply.thanx

    • snyper77

      great reply.thanx

    • Hiraghm

      what bloody handprints photos??

  • Josephine (D)

Yoko is awful for exploiting her husband, even though he might have agreed with her if he were alive today(though there is rumor he became conservative in the mid-70’s).

But don’t be too surprised at OFA’s RT of the pic; they love exploitation.

    • Arthur Adams

“there is rumor he became conservative in the mid-70’s” — Ah, when he was a heroin addict.

    • Katy Cordeth

Yes, damn her for still being upset that her husband was murdered. It’s been over thirty years. Get over it already, Yoko.

      • Hiraghm

No! I don’t want her to get over it. I want her to live a nice long life suffering as much as possible as retribution for her efforts.

    • Hiraghm

Stop at the 3rd word: “Yoko is awful”.
Lennon couldn’t have become conservative in the 70s any more than he could have spontaneously changed his sex.

  • Joseph A White

In the meantime, Lennin’s murderer enjoys unsupervised “visits” at home with his Mommy and Daddy. Y’all will simply get more violence from the nut jobs and criminals when you fail to punish them appropriately for their crimes and continue attempting to punish the Constitution and/or those who support and defend it.

    • Hiraghm

If he were punished appropriately, there’d be statues of him across the country.

    • 3seven77

It’s deja vu all over again:
From December 17, 2003: “John Hinckley Jr., the man who tried to assassinate President Reagan in 1981, will be allowed to make unsupervised visits with his parents away from the mental hospital where he lives, a federal judge decided Wednesday.

Hinckley’s lawyers had argued that psychiatrists favored the idea. But government attorneys said Hinckley is still dangerous — and that he’s been trying to fool his doctors.”,2933,106043,00.html#ixzz2OLKlemCn

Over 34 million babies have been aborted since John Lennon was shot on December 8, 1980.

    • Constitution First

For every killing (including justified homicide) hundreds of crimes and deaths were prevented. It would like saying ban modern medicine because sometimes the patient died… Far more people die in drunk driving wrecks, do we ban cars? No, we punish the drunk.

  • Rick

Gawd! 14 people died yesterday in my city. From assorted causes. We need to pass a law. No dying from anything. That will fix it…….

  • Mike Thompson

“Well jeez, little girl… Would ya feel better if they’d been pushed outta windows?”-Archie Bunker

  • Sean Connolly

How many lives have been saved by guns since 1980? And what does this have to do with banning semi auto rifles? I believe the nutjob shot lennon with a 38 revolver.

    • Constitution First

Actually it was a .32. A tiny thing really, but even a .22 or a pellet gun or rocks can be lethal a close range. The guy was a wack-job, he’s doing life, end of story. What really sucked is the POS coward shot John in the BACK five times, the press never tells that part.

      • Hiraghm

I know, I know, I squeal with delight whenever I hear how the filthy communist (censored) got such a well-deserved death. How come these nuts only come out of the woodwork years after it’s too late for their murders to stop the damage already caused?

One wack-job dead, the other behind bars for life. Win-win.

    • Hiraghm

Many millions, if you include the guns wielded by the U.S. and allied military.
(many millions of lives *saved* that is)

  • dunst43

According to DOJ stats there were 328,537 gun homicides from 1983-2008. Where are the other 700,000 gun deaths? Could Yoko be fibbing? You can double check my math here:

    • winoceros

      NIMH stats, suicide by firearm:

      Legal intervention by law:

(1981-2007, not enough law intervention to appear in a report).
So, 476,302 in the US by firearm not including the last five years. And using your number (just for fun and because I have laundry to do) for roughly the same timeframe, 328,537, we’re at 804,839, again not including the last five years or so. It might be close. But for those of us still in denial, John was taken from us 32 years ago. In that time around 50,000,000 American residents have gone to their reward.
Her number includes suicides, 50% of men doing it with firearms successfully and by far, men committing suicide are over 85.
John Lott’s got the best numbers but these are after cursory digging. She of course puts the sinners with the saints, as the number must include justifiable homicide and law enforcement kills. No numbers for crimes prevented or interrupted, of course.

      • Gustavo

You left off #GunFAIL (or as it was known in Colonial days “Melancholy Accidents”).

These are the 70 or so times a week that a Responsible Gun Owner dies while cleaning their gun; taking it out of the truck; playing or drinking too much; having a child or dog find it (yes we’ve had more than a couple “dog shooting a gun’ incidents this year). Just look up #GunFAIL –it’s the Wile E Coyote of Twitter.

      • Hiraghm

And it doesn’t compare to the millions killed by communism in any comparable time frame you choose. I’d rather advocate gun ownership by individuals than communism.

  • Garth Haycock

How many innocent have been aborted since Lennon was shot and killed? How many people have died of cancer since Lennon was shot and killed? #perspective

  • Princess_Jen

Kind of like msnbc having a pic of oblamo for their twitter acct background & daying they aren’t partisan. Totally believe it, right?

  • marcellucci

I wonder if things would have turned out differently if Lennon was armed…..

    • Constitution First

The coward shot John in the back… he never saw it coming.

      • Hiraghm

Appropriate. One cowardly back-shooter killing another.

      • marcellucci

Maybe he could’ve gotten a round off at the bastard…

  • tim hall

My brother just got released from prison. He saw five people murdered during his short time there. NONE were killed with guns!

Number one assault weapon in America: The Baseball Bat.
      Number two is a knife.
But because it doesn’t fit the liberal paradigm, you don’t hear about it in the liberal media.

We definitely need the late Nancy Pelosi, the late Harry Reid, and the late Dianne Feinstein to draft emergency legislation banning assault bats!! Get on it, fanatical gun-grabbing zombies!!!!!!!

how many aspiring singers have abandoned a future in music because of Yoko’s wretched caterwauling? Guns don’t kill John Lennon, Mark Chapman’s do.

    • Hiraghm

Mark Chapman couldn’t have killed Lennon had Lennon been deported as an undesirable or tried and executed for treason against the United States..

  • RedSoloCup

Yoko and Barry… two peas in a pod.

  • © Sponge

Yoko conveniently leaving out the fact that she’s the reason he was killed……

  • kim

bad enough that Obama retweets it but might I ask, WHO would save the bloddy glasses of a dead husband for 33 years? Was she hoping to sell them if she went broke?

    • Katy Cordeth

It’s not a recent photograph; it was taken sometime between the time of John’s murder and today. Who can say if Yoko still has the bloddy glasses?

  • Maxx

Hey Yoko, how many Glocks are behind bars?

We don’t need magazine control, we need criminal control.

  • Hiraghm

Sweet! Any pictures of his dead body? Cause that’s the only way I’d want to see that filthy Marxist (censored).

  • Hiraghm

yeah, she can count the alleged gun deaths from all sources in the U.S…. but has she ever once commented on the millions killed by her compatriot communists in Vietnam or Cambodia? How many million skull pyramids have we erected in the U.S.? How many hundreds of thousands have fled our shores on flimsy rafts made of whatever floated?

How many 3 week old children in the U.S. had arrest warrants signed on the spot as a “Kindness” to the mother, who was being arrested because her husband had possession of a Vietnamese/French dictionary?

I’d rather keep my fellow citizens armed, tyvm.

  • blueniner

YOKO you are a hypocrite, John wrote a song”Happiness is a Warm Gun”…bang bang shoot shoot…………
