Awesome: Sarah Palin sips Big Gulp during CPAC speech; ‘Bloomberg’s not around’ [pics and video]

At CPAC on Saturday, Sarah Palin joked that for Christmas, Todd got a gun and she “got the rack.”

But the biggest crowd-pleaser was when she paused to take a shot at Nanny Bloomberg by taking a sip from her Big Gulp.

The Twitterverse: where great ideas are born:

Water sucks. Gatorade not only quenches your thirst better, it tastes better too. #CoachKlein

  • V the K

Well done, Mrs Palin. Any sane person would rather be governed by Sarah Palin for two years than Nanny Bloomberg for eight.

Conservatives to Big Government Nanny Staters: “You’re not the boss of me!”

    • BlueGood

The Leftoids will be “Bat Crap Crazy” for the next 20 months….

      OMG she was SO ON!!!!

      Zing Zing BOOM….ba ba BOOM!

  • nc

Her comedic timing was dead-on perfect! She tells the “rack” joke with a dead pan straight face, then immediately reaches for the Super Big Gulp to deflect any sense of impropriety. Comic genius!

    • Guest

What would have been hilarious is if she had come on stage wearing a Code Pink vagina costume.

      • blueniner

Here we go, the turd in the swimming pool!

      • 3seven77

Why? You already do that so well.

Why? Will Clinton be going dressed as a cigar?

Yeah, then she’d be mistaken for a victim of the Democrat’s War on Women.

      • TocksNedlog

Comedy, like Code Pink costumes, is neither pretty nor easy.

    • DocBarry1

I am so glad you wrote this tweet – I agree

      • Pete Daniels Band

Sarah Palin sure can knock it out of the park. Meanwhile as we speak, the haters are organizing to flood the web with comments aimed at obfuscating and preventing low information folks from watching the speech. Will be sure to tag such posts with some rally song.

(PS – sorry for the double post. Go, Sarah!)

    • CapitalG

I was a bit struck by her comedic timing as well as how relaxed she appeared. Palin simply shined.

  • Guest

Agreed. She nailed it on a few fronts. Rally song time…

  • c4pfan

That was freaking hilarious! Love Sarah!

  • DocBarry1

all of these comments re the spot on speech as well as the jokes were rt on!!! We need her in 2016

  • wwbdinct

She looks beautiful as ever! Take that trolls!

  • sqeptiq

Good conservative cultural gesture there. Just too bad she didn’t take a bite out of a Chick-fil-A sandwich as well.

  • David

Palin is genuine, something rare in politics. She would never bow to evil dictators, apologize for America’s greatness, or pit Americans against one another based on race, gender, or religion. She is the real deal. Plus she drives liberals crazy and lives rent free inside their heads.

    • Mike Stein

If she would do all that, why is she irrelevant?

      • Corey Dennison

Morons like you keep spouting “but, she’s irrelevant”–yet here she is, helping to lead the TEA Party movement, speaking at CPAC and driving idiots like you bat crap crazy.

        • Mike Stein

Here she is … at an irrelevant function.

          • Corey Dennison

            Yup, keep telling yourself that.

          • Mike Stein

            I’m telling everyone here that.

          • TheOriginalDonald

            Sarahcuda………sipping on a Big Gulp…………..LIVING RENT-FREE IN YOUR HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          • LissaKay

And we’re supposed to just take your word on that …. why?

We are not ignorant, unthinking sheeple who simply do as they are told. If you want people like that, head on over to DailyKos or HuffPo.

          • tacticomp

Not need to show us that you’re a useful Idiot–we can smell you for miles!

          • RedSoloCup

          • It’s just me again

So “irrelevant” you bothered to read the article and take the time to chime in. That “irrelevant”.

          • Mike Stein

Writing an article about an event doesn’t make the event relevant.

          • It’s just me again

I didn’t say it was. I said you took the time to read it, then spend the rest of your day commenting on it. Must be relevant to you.

          • TocksNedlog

Listen to this person. S/he knows irrelevant functions when they fail her.

      • TocksNedlog

        GHCS willingly paying rent.

      • RedSoloCup

Shouldn’t you be out helping Doomberg confiscate Big Gulps?

  • Kristy Patullo

    Sarah Palin is truly awesome!!!

  • badkarma989

I cannot stand Sarah Palin, she was a mistake for the party, and if not for her, I’d have voted McCain instead of Obama (that and McCain wasn’t the same man as in 2000) but for this, i would do a great many things for her (and be happy to provide service behind the scenes…woman is hot). Think this Left-Leaning Libertarian is going out to get the local version of a Sarah Palin Big Gulp today and actually dedicating it to her.

Screw Bloomberg…it’s a soft drink you baby-coddling son of a bitch.

    • DavidKramer

No such thing as a lefty leaning libertarian. Where do you lefties come up with your insane definitions?

edit to add, let me guess, you want to smoke pot but you do not want to pay for anything, you want a free house, free healthcare and free food? Is that about it?

    • Timbet

Sarah Palin was the only thing that kept McCain competitive. When Sarah Palin was brought on board, the enthusiasm immediately changed.

Where McCain had struggled to fill an arena, lines outside events featuring Palin seemed miles long.

Polls show a sustained 6 point bump for the campaign, one that put them ahead of Obama for the first time, right after Sarah was chosen, and gave her masterful speech at the Republican convention.

McCain would maintain this lead until the financial meltdown, when he decided to suspend his campaign to head off to Washington without a real plan of action. It was a fatal mistake and one a smart campaign manager would have advised against, but we’re talking Steve Schmidt here, so smarts don’t enter into the equation.

In Pew’s exit poll in 2008, voters who said Palin was a factor in their vote went for McCain by a 56-43 margin!

Sarah Palin energized the Party, and carried Senator McCain farther than he could have possibly gone without her.

Schmidt mismanaged the McCain 2008 presidential campaign by advising McCain to suspend the campaign during the financial crisis and then tried to rewrite history afterward in order to falsely blame everyone — especially Sarah Palin — for McCain’s loss, except himself.

Steve Schmidt was able to scapegoat Sarah Palin for his own
disastrous ineptitude despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. That was because the media hated Palin and her popularity was perceived as a threat to their Party.

    • Corey Dennison

Idiots like you are why why we have Obama. And just so you know, there are millions od us that voted for McCain ONLY because she was on the ticket.

  • JoeMyGodNYC

Half-term Caribou Barbie has been racking up quite an impressive record over the last few years. All those appearances in the audience of “Dancing With The Stars” have TOTALLY advanced the Tea Party movement.

    • DavidKramer

Looky, our very first paid troll. How is it going commie?

      • Squirrel!

        Oh, he’s just a RAAACIST & a BIGOT! Don’t mind him!

        • DavidKramer

I got in a “debate” with this moron on economics earlier. He stated he wanted to nationalize our resources, implement government ran health care then……….stated he was not a commie. Frelling moron.

          • Squirrel!

Well, I & others had a back & forth with him (re: Sen Tim Scott) basically about how ppl in the South don’t elect black ppl to represent us – that was his take. Claimed to know all because of living in NC and then in SC. Guess having resided in the South makes one an expert on such matters.

          • DavidKramer

Kind of like how Piers’ brother knows about guns so he does too. Hmmmm, did not know osmosis worked that way.

    • $23629333

If – after donning a hazmat suit – you care to click on the avatar of this cartoon character, and peruse his other posts, you’ll discover that we are – again – dealing with an angry member of the 2%. Might this be hamybear with a new handle?

Could someone explain the animosity the 2% has for Sarah Palin – such as the bald-headed gentleman* who insulted her and her daughter?

      (* yes, I’m kidding)

    • Timbet

Sarah Palin served 32 out of 48 months; the same percentage that Obama served of his Senate term (not including the two-year break he spent campaigning) and and accomplished almost everything she set out to do in that time.

Sarah Palin resigned because she recognized the cost that the frivolous ethics complaints were having on her state , and she saw how much of her staff’s time and her own time were forced to deal with those issues.

That entire campaign of BS lawsuits was meant to do nothing but hamstring the governor’s office and bankrupt Sarah Palin.

She saw that if she stayed on as Governor it would continue to cost the state millions of dollars in wasted time and resources to defend against false and maliciously ethics complaints and doom it to gridlock.

Those frivolous lawsuits had already cost the state of AK close to $2 million; Sarah Palin had over $500,000 dollars in legal fees.

Sarah Palin knew that for the sake of her state, her country, her family, and her political voice, it would be best if she stepped aside from the governorship.

In an article Sarah Palin said:

“I said, ‘Enough. Political adversaries and their political friends in the media will not destroy my State, my administration, nor my family. Enough.’ I knew if I didn’t play their game any longer, they could not win. I would not retreat, I would instead reload, and I would fight for what is right from a different plane.”

She promised to keep the frivolous anti-Palin law suits away from the Alaskan people and to be more effective on the stump ( supporting candidates , fundraising, etc)

Sarah Palin was truthful on both accounts!

After the 2008 election Sarah Palin helped lead Republicans to the greatest congressional victory in several generations during the 2010 election;she has endorsed 73 candidates for the US House of Representatives and Senate; state governors and attorney generals. Her success rate is at 69%.
18 out of 20 targets in her Take Back the 20 campaign ; this is a 90% success rate!

Sarah Palin also had a very strong hand in the party’s few successes during this election . Sarah Palin campaigned for constitutional conservatives llike Ted Cruz, Deb Fischer, Jeff Flake, Paul Gosar, resulting in 5 conservatives being elected to the Senate and 32 conservatives to the House.

In 2010, Sarah Palin backed South Carolina’s Tim Scott. He won in 2010 and he won the re-election. She backed other African Americans like Allen West and Mia Love. Both of those candidates narrowly lost their races by 2,000 votes in the case of Love and 1,000 votes in the case of West.

Sarah Palin has also penned commentary on such topics as the unrest in Libya, the protests in Wisconsin, Obama’s 2012 budget proposal and State of the Union address, getting tough with Iran and standing with Iranians who seek democracy, challenging the specifics of President Obama’s energy policy, the omnibus spending bill, defeating the New START, opposition to state bailouts, tax policy, a message to Republican freshmen in Congress, opposition to quantitative easing, and more.

She has repeatedly been a leading voice—via television appearances and speaking engagements—against the dangers of ObamaCare and the risks of President Obama’s approach to energy.

        • Corey Dennison

You clearly don’t understand what I typed.

          • Corey Dennison

Uh, yes I did. Even though you screwed it up. It’s simply ‘TLDR” or ‘tldr’ — there’s no semicolon.

The way she makes the left go bat shit w/hate means she’s doing all of the right things. Love it.

  • DavidKramer

This was comedy genius, she did a double entendre, ripped Doomberg and the DNC media. Man the media hates her. Got a love it.

    • cajun_2

Bill Maher must be crying in his beer. Letterman will be on a rampage and Shultz, wait , he got dumped….
When liberal heads explode, media speaking, Sarah and I love it…

      • DavidKramer

It is getting kind of funny, Maher is saying he might drop being a liberal. Could not ask for a better weekend gift than that.

        • OneWomanWolfPack

If Maher drops being a liberal, it can only mean that he is taking that leap into full out communism. Because he sure has he!! is NOT an asset!

          • TheOriginalDonald

Maher may not be an asset but he certainly is an @$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          • DavidKramer

He said the liberals could lose him, yeah, I do not actually think he meant he would become a conservative, maybe a full on fascist. He would just remove his fake “liberal” aka “progressive” mask.

          • Corey Dennison

No. But yours seems to amount to trolling on interent comment forums. Otherwise, what purpose have any of your lame comments served?

          • Mike Stein

If that isn’t your life, why did you do it?

          • TheOriginalDonald

Shouldn’t you be asking her for rent, since you clearly aren’t evicting her out of your head?????????????

      • Debra Blouin

I’ve read your posts. I must say, your erudition, grace, and grasp of rhetorical gravitas, as well as humor is….underwhelming. But you seem to enjoy believing your additions to the comments board are pithy and provocative.

      • Miss Clairee

You left wing libturds HATE when a pretty, smart woman with true CLASS gets “good” attention – so you have to spin it in a negative way… I am sure the MSM will do on all the Sunday shows tomorrow, well into the Monday so-called morning “News Shows.” Sarah was the pretty, smart girl in high school that was sooooooooo way out of your league and you were too big of a doofus to walk up to her and say, “Hi, my name is GHCS,” because you probably would have crapped your pants. So you hate her (and beautiful, conservative women like her) now because she represents what you can not now have, or ever will have because you are a LIBTURD. So you therefore, settle for your androgynous “girlfriend” who may or may not be human (“she’s” probably plastic and ordered through the mail), while you probably live in your mother’s basement or in your guvment subsidized housing because you are too busy trolling right wing sites and/or are too lazy to look for a real job. I’m right, ain’t I?

      • RedSoloCup

Too bad for you she can’t be like this freakshow

  • Stone Bryson

While I loved the Big Gulp moment, my fav was her “The Architect…s” line… truly priceless. She is undoubtedly the most effective speaker in the Republican Party, and I do not understand why they refuse to work with her more.

Then again, maybe I do. The more the years pass the more libertarian she sounds, which has to drive the Neo-Con masters ‘bat-crap crazy.’ I’m glad she’s free of Fox News, able to be herself again; between her resurgence, and people like Paul, Cruz, Rubio, Martinez… the next few years are going to be very interesting, indeed.

  • rant stocks

The libbys and leftys are nawing on their tongues after her speech….She was great !

  • Mike Stein

Unless she drank the entire thing, she’s being wasteful and only needs a small cup.

    • Corey Dennison

Sorry, this is an adult conversation.

      • Mike Stein

Then why are you involved? The only reason to purchase a 32-ounce Big Gulp is to drink the 32-ounce Big Gulp. If you are going to drink eight ounces of a Big Gulp, then purchase an eight ounce Big Gulp. Otherwise all you’ve done is proven you don’t need to purchase a 32-ounce Big Gulp. Now put your pacifier back in.

        • Corey Dennison

Who the hell are you to decide what size drink she should be drinking? How do you know she didn’t eventually finish or share the rest after she finished her speech?

Now go away child. Grownups are trying to have a conversation on this board.

          • Mike Stein

Only thing I decided is that if she has a 32-ounce Big Gulp, she better drink it all or she is wasteful. If she isn’t drinking it all, she doesn’t need it and should have a smaller Big Gulp. Quite simple.

          • LissaKay

So … you’d be good with some random person coming along and telling you what you need and what you don’t need? If so, then let me declare right now that you do not need a computer and access to the internet. Your posts are a waste of bandwidth.

        • JD Olson

She gave it to Steven Crowder if you watch the next speech. So she’s sharing the wealth–isn’t that what you lefties want? Don’t worry your little head, that Big Gulp will end up in the Smithsonian where it will continue to give pro Big Government lefties brain aneurysms.

        • bucky321

Sarah Palin at CPAC: “Mr. President, you won. Accept it.”

Cue Sarah Palin, who definitely did not shy away from slamming the shady, back-room, crusty old Washington power structure, but also took President Obama to the cleaners on his utter bankruptcy of leadership skills:

“We don’t have leadership coming out of Washington. We have reality television. … Well, the election came and went. But, the campaign never stopped. At a time when our country is desperate for leadership, we get instead a permanent campaign. …

Leaders reach across political differences, campaigners double down on those differences. … Leaders seek to bring Americans together to confront our challenges,

and campaigners, they seek to divide and conquer and orchestrate crisis after crisis after crisis, to exploit. Mr. President, you won. We accept it. Now step away from the teleprompter and do your job.” Heh.

Sarah was thoroughly enjoying her Bad Girl moment with a Super Big Gulp, as was I. I’ve missed hearing and seeing her in action. Is there supposed to be some new conservative network from the Washington area, starting this June? It is supposed to give Fox a run for it’s money, This new network plans to claim the real conservatives now ignored and discarded by Fox.
Maybe this new network will hire Sarah, while Steve Oberman, desperate for airtime, start free intern work at Al Jezeera……..Did you hear Sarah say “The Architect” can go back home to Texas, the people can decide for themselves”,,,,Oh look!!I think Tokyo Rove just got splashed in the face with a Super Big Gulp.

  • Pat Arnold

The left is soooooo freaking scared of this woman they have tried everything to marginalize her. They were left with nothing but inferring that Palin is “stupid”‘ this from the party of Obama and Biden where stupid rears it’s ugly face daily. You go Sarah!

  • Heather Demeny

The “Big Gulp” was exempt, so maybe there a big ‘gotchya’ to that than some realized?

ETA: Just read that some gave her a hard time for using it to make the point. I thought she might be pointing out the hypocrisy of it.

    • bucky321
