Writer at pallor-filled The New Republic mocks GOP women, whines about ‘so many white guys’ at CPAC 2013; Update: Ace slams

So. Much. Hypocrisy.

That was Julia Ioffe, a staff writer at The New Republic. She also tweeted out some other oh-so-insightful (and totally non-biased, wink wink!) thoughts from CPAC 2013.

You know, because conservatives are all raaaaaaaaaaaacist and stuff. Others, of course, followed her foul lead.

The most offensive thing at this point? How lame and tired it all is. The lack of self-awareness is also utterly astounding. Ms. Ioffe, let us introduce you to Ace of Spades. He destroyed your outlet’s pitiful “OMG we see white people” cover earlier this year. “Party of White People”? One need look no further than the progressives of pallor at The New Republic.

Ah, memories. You’re welcome, Ms. Ioffe. Ms. Ioffe is apparently a super feminist, too. You can tell by the way she mocks conservative women.

Sisterhood! Her idiocy is matched only by the always absurd Ana Marie Cox.

Funny you should mention SXSW, Ms. Cox.

Bingo! And prescient.

The media will never report on that, though. Nor will they report on this.

Update: Oh, yes. Ace of Spades is introducing himself to confused Ms. Ioffe.

Allen West a hit at CPAC: ‘Nothing libs fear more than a black conservative’; Foul libs prove him right

  • nc

Libbies live in such a bubble that they think they can put this stuff out there, no matter how inaccurate, and no one will notice.

    • cgraham77

Sadly…99% of libs (i.e., low-info idiots) WON’T notice the lies that are continually spewed forth in liberal media. They blindly follow in lock-step, and that is exactly what lib journos count on.

    • Love of Country

I keep hearing an awful lot about those “Damn (old) white guys” coming from the Left. It’s almost every single day now on MSNBC. And it’s just so strange after they (Democrats) attacked and lynched bIack people for more than 100 years but still, the about-face in skin color ‘loyalty’ does illustrate a constant continuation of racist hatred from the Left. Seems they will hate any skin color so long as it makes them feel better about themselves or helps them politically.

One thing is for sure …. Democrats personify racism and they will always need an entire race of people to point fingers at and put down and call names. It’s obscenely transparent and it breaks my heart.

White Republicans (for example) run the safest schools and neighborhoods in the country and the folks there are kind and courteous. Leave it to the blind and evil DNC to try their very best to try and somehow make them out to look like the devil (instead of the highly civilized role models that they are) while earnestly propping up their own institutionalized racism, corruption and keynesian policies that over time have turned minority communities into violent cesspools most every single time.

      Lord help us!

Will all Cubans henceforth be known as white and not Hispanic? Will Sotomayor lose the designation of “wise latina” and now be known as white?
Why mention his race at all? Why are liberals fixated upon race over ideals?
Weren’t liberals wary of drones under Bush? Did they not decry their use? Why, do you feel, it took days to answer the domestic drone question?

  • lainer51

  • AdoEdem

“He’s not *really* Hispanic”, spake the wise and powerful Mighty Whitey.

    /cue eyeroll

  • sqeptiq

Not all Cubans are white. A good number are black, for instance.

As for drones, few liberals objected to their use under Bush and few do now. Drones, so far as I’m concerned, are just a new tool. Neither ethically better or worse than using, say, helicopters.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002109532283 Jillane Kent

To your first point, I reiterate, why did you call Rubio “lilly white”?. As for drones, whilst they are a tool, do you see no potential for innocent civilians to be caught in the crossfire vs. traditional warfare? What about the loss of potential intelligence that exists when one vaporizes the enemy vs. capture? Do you see no potential for the invasion of privacy, given their stealth and pervasiveness?

  • Catchance

And again… you’re fixated on skin color, something that liberals tend to do rather than content of character and ideals. That’s probably because you don’t have any character or ideals in your own party, so cries of “racist!” are the only thing on which you can fall back.

As for drones, if you think that FEW liberals objected to their use under Bush, you really do have tunnel vision. Personally, I don’t have a problem with the use of drones. I do have a problem with the choice of when and where and on whom to use them being unilateral and without accountability. This administration has already demonstrated a lack of caring, a callousness, regarding the deaths of American citizens (Benghazi, Fast & Furious) as mere ‘bumps in the road’.

  • http://extremesplash.wordpress.com/ Ben Bollman

Yes, you called an obviously Hispanic person “lily white” because you don’t agree with his politics. Let that sink in.

  • sqeptiq

Ms Ioffe made a remark indicating she thought Rand Paul was white, and Marco Rubio wasn’t, hence my statement.

Innocent bystander deaths are a sad inevitability in war, with or without drones. Those who insist on zero innocent civilian casualties may as well call for disbanding the armed forces. It’s a ludicrous position. Civilian casualties obviously ought to be minimized but can’t be eliminated. Some privacy laws are worth supporting, but not banning the domestic use of surveillance drones that respects such laws. I also see use of armed drones, as well as the US armed forces generally, as legitimate domestically, though only in extremely unlikely scenarios of secession or mass sedition, where rule of law breaks down.

  • sqeptiq

I called Rubio white and he is white. “Hispanic” isn’t a race or ethnic group. Hispanics can be black, white, Mestizo, indian, Asian (Hi, Alberto Fujimori!), etc.

  • v1cious

Wait, are you saying Latinos don’t exist? I really hope I’m reading this wrong.

  • NCRelite

the Left tells us that racially speaking, demographics are changing ie. the latino population is increasingly expanding and they report on it breathlessly –but they fail to mention that many of the same latinos identify themselves as white. and then you’re quick to point out Rubio is “lily white”. so which is it?

  • sqeptiq

Liberals are more candid than conservatives when it comes to race. Republicans refuse to talk frankly about race, but are very talented at keeping their movement nearly all-white. So spare me the bs that conservatives are color-blind or neutral on race.

As for drones, I’m pro-drone. If Obama starts making conservatives go boom, I’ll be sure to condemn it. At present, however, your phantom fears are both sad and rather pathetic.

  • Catchance

Uh huh. You keep telling yourself that. You’re not candid. Candid would mean admitting that liberals think blacks aren’t capable of getting into a good school without Affirmative Action. Candid would mean that you would have to admit that the EEO doesn’t give blacks equal opportunity, but more opportunity, because you don’t believe they’re as capable as you liberal whites. Candid would mean that Lady Justice really would have a blindfold over her eyes. Candid would mean admitting that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are bigots and racists of the worst kind… fomenting grievances and envy in order to keep themselves in power. They’re a disgrace. Or perhaps you’ve forgotten Dr. King’s powerful “I have a dream” speech in which he stated that he wanted to see the day when a man wasn’t judged by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character. You laugh and sneer at Allen West. Why? Because he’s a BLACK conservative, and according to the liberal playbook, that’s traitorous. That’s uppity. Every thing that Chris Matthews spits out (literally) about racism is because that’s what he thinks, and he imputes it to us.

As to the drones… well, it does seem far-fetched, doesn’t it? But I never would have thought that a sitting vice-president would call an organization that believes in the Constitution, the right to vote, and wanting to stop spending money we don’t have, a Terrorist organization, either.

  • QWYS (Hydralisk of the Swarm)

  • sqeptiq

Candid would mean the GOP admitting it has next to no black support because it incessantly demonizes blacks as criminals and welfare cheats.

And I don’t care if Democrats call tea partiers terrorists. I grew up with the wisdom that “Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me.” Pussies who whine that “Words wound!” should take that wisdom to heart. Similarly it doesn’t faze me when conservatives call me a “traitor,” “Marxist,” “communist,” “terrorist,” etc.

  • Catchance

Wait. So…according to you, the GOP has no black support because it “incessantly demonizes blacks as criminals and welfare cheats” yet in the next breath you’re claiming that “pussies who whine that words wound” should take the ‘Sticks and Stones’ wisdom to heart.

So, which is it? Is the GOP a meanie organization or are blacks whining pussies?

I think there’s a third option: Democrats should stop demonizing Republicans as vicious care-nothing racists and start telling the truth: that there isn’t a finite amount of money out there so that if one person gets some it means another person goes without. That we are all human beings, and neither black nor white should be given any special favors, but all be treated equally under the Rule of Law.

  • mike_in_kosovo

demonizes blacks as criminals and welfare cheats

Cite, please… with *specific* mention of blacks, not the usual liberal “oh, they must mean blacks” which illustrates *LIBERAL* racism.

  • sqeptiq

Voting against those who demonize you doesn’t make you a whining pussy, but rather someone who respects himself. After all, those who demonize you likely want to use the political process to screw you over. What makes you a whining pussy is claiming that words per se injure you.

Your third approach advice is amusing but I don’t think I’ll take it, nor will most lefties, I bet. We mean to beat you, not capitulate to you — don’t you forget that.

  • Catchance

I call Bullshit. You may have Pravda and Tass on your side, but eventually Obama and his ilk (that would be you) will have completely destroyed the economy and you won’t have any money to buy any more votes. Whether there’ll be anything left to salvage after you’re through with it is anyone’s guess, but we’ll step in anyway.

Btw, being called a Terrorist by some insane old coot doesn’t hurt my feelings in the least… in fact, it’s a badge of honor. My concern is those pesky drones, because unfortunately that crazy old coot has the ear of the King.

  • NCRelite

Who is demonizing who, exactly? Cities like Detroit and Chicago don’t have any Republicans or Tea Party members causing any of the problems there, it’s all Liberal Democratic leadership. The Democrats are so desperate to paint the GOP as racist because if they didn’t then they wouldn’t have the overwhelming support of minorities which helps them win elections. That’s why you have kooks like Chris Matthews crapping his diapers over racist dog whistles every day on live television

  • sqeptiq

You can call whatever you like; it changes nothing. The economy is slowly on the mend but if somehow the GOP manages to wreck it — as long they’ve been trying to do — they’ll take the blame. The majority of Americans have set their will against the Republican Party, as shown in the elections of 2008 and (more importantly) 2012. And the electoral math is only going to get more disadvantageous for them.

  • Catchance

Up until this point I gave you props for some intelligence, albeit a narrow view derived from Daily Kos articles, but really? “On the mend?” What are you smoking?

You may be right about the American majority… after all, they did vote for him again, proving their dimwittedness, utter lack of knowledge, and sheer gullibility… but there’s a tiny little glimmer of hope, in that for the most part they’ve seen through his sequestration lies and general jackassery. Stupid move to shut down the WH tours.

  • sqeptiq

No one suffers because they can’t get a tour of the White House. This is yet another non-issue that conservatives, and conservatives alone, whine about.

  • carla5731

I am amazed at the number of Democrats who’ve been arguing against privacy and due process since Obama took office. When the government’s assumption is that constant surveillance of citizens is necessary, the rule of law is already breaking down.

  • NCRelite

  • NCRelite

waterboarding is just awful, but collateral damage from drones is acceptable. that’s one of the many problems the left faces, their platforms are totally incoherent

  • Catchance

And again you’ve missed the point… or sidestepped it. Of course no one’s going to ‘suffer’ by not getting a WH tour. My point is that, although the president’s lap dog media generally doesn’t let anything out that might discredit Dear Leader, there’s a tiny speck of truth getting out, in that he’s not only a liar, he’s a petty and vindictive one. The sequestration was his idea, it doesn’t really even cut costs, just a tiny portion of increases in budgets, but he wants to make it as painful as possible in order to prove that he is too right (wah!) and it’s those mean old Republicans who are, to use your phrase, “wrecking” the economy. Cutting out one WH dinner honoring some of his Hollywood buddies, or one golfing trip would pay for the secret service needed for the tours for a year! The tours themselves are self-guided and the docents are volunteers. He tried telling people that the janitors would be laid off… that didn’t work. So then he tried telling them that teachers would be laid off. Whoops, can’t do that either, so he came up with the White House tours. Speaking of pathetic…

  • sqeptiq

Not so many but some, including Rubio. Anyway if he runs for president he’ll likely find little Hispanic support other than from Cubans since he’s anti-Hispanic? except for Cubans. Hell, that dude supported Arizona’s SB 1070.

  • sqeptiq

Almost all of America’s sizable cities have Democratic mayors — the prosperous cities and troubled ones alike. The GOP is by contrast a heavily rural party.

  • sqeptiq

I’m cool with surveillance in public. I’m not an ACLU type. God knows a lot of conservatives expect all Democrats and liberals to be, though.

  • sqeptiq

There’s nothing incoherent about it. Killing some innocent bystanders is a necessary evil in war. Torture is wholly unnecessary. All it does is encourage the tortured prisoner to invent a lie to make the torture stop.

  • sqeptiq

Honestly, I don’t care if no one gets a White House tour from now until the end of time. You’re just looking for something to whine about.
