Michael Moore says ‘capitalism is a crime.’ Shall we lock him up?

Michael Moore declared capitalism a crime (again) tonight, citing as evidence a Bloomberg article about how the evil banks are (gasp!) making money on bonds issued to the City of Detroit.

Of course, we’re sure that Mr. Moore includes himself among the guilty, seeing as he’s done so well under such an oppressive system. He must understand that his high-flying life as a successful “documentary” filmmaker is built on the back of millions of enslaved proletarians. As an “enlightened” member of the bourgeois elite, surely this man is willing to atone for his sins and abuses.

We know that, deep in his heart, Mr. Moore really craves an anonymous, meager existence in a Socialist utopia.  To prove this noble aim, we have no doubt that he will altruistically give up his lavish lifestyle and pay his debt to the workers — in jail.

Also, we expect that pigs will soon learn to fly.

“only wall st wins in detroit” im with michael here. CLEARLY over 60 years of democrat mojority in the council and executive administration were not enough to change the city.

And the Union leaders and enforcer goons who did their best to strangle the auto industry also fared pretty well during that time.

Isn’t it a riot how so many people who got RICH from our “capitalist” system use their money to try and force the rest of us into Socialism? Such hypocrisy! They don’t even realize how stupid they sound. The day he gives every penny away and has to live like the rest of us, is the day I might listen to this ignoramus!

Fiscal mismanagement is also a “crime”, Mikey. Who took out those bonds and misused the money? Go eat a hoagie, Slim!

WHAT A FILTHY, TREASONOUS PIG! So sick of the sight and sound of this bloat. And that sliver of a mouth that fields of grain, fields of sugar cane, herds of hot dogs, oceans of 20-oz’er’s and rivers of gravy have breached, speaks the words and does the bidding of Barack Obama. They are in perfect, commie sync. Michael Moore really should leave the United States, takes his multi-millions and jiggle, wobble and gobble his way to a more appealing country. How about Cuba? Or Venezuela? Yah, Venezuela…they’re looking to replace a lard bucket.

  • GoSellCrazySomeplaceElse

Let’s see, the sesspool, aka Detroit, has been run into the sewer by Democrats since the early 60’s. The intellectual left live in a fantasy, thinking that one day their policies will work. MM, it’s time to flush.

This from the man – a multi-millionaire – who gave us the film, “Capitalism: A Love Story.”

My suspicion is that he has another book or film coming out, and that’s why he’s trying to attract as much attention to himself as he can – frosting off conservatives and pandering to the folks who share his contempt of America. I further suspect that his contempt of America is as phony and self-serving as the “look” he maintains.

    • AdoEdem

Exactly. When one of these hypocritical lunatics opens his/her mouth, my first question is always “So, got a movie/book/TV show coming out in the next few months?” Because these kinds of attention-whoring antics are more often than not publicity stunts/sales pitches.

      • $23629333

We’ve been seeing that recently with Bette Midler. She’s finally found gainful employment – on Broadway, no less – and she’s been tweeting up a storm trying to attract attention to herself.

  • Maxx

Good lord, the morbidly obese millionaire is whining about capitalism again? Don’t you know Michael is “down with the downtrodden” and to prove it….he passed on the really big house for that delopitated 10,000-sq-ft, waterfront $2M fix-er-upper.

He couldn’t be a greater panderer to liberal minorities if he was walking around in black face while speaking Spanish.

“Feed your kids folks but make sure to set aside $12 to see my next documentary on the evils of capitalism.”

    • $23629333

Folks, take a moment to check out the summer home of Michael Manatee on Torch Lake which Maxx refers to above. There are photos of it. Such a place is the sort of summer home owned by a member of the top 1% of the 1%.

Apparently – before moving in – MM had an elevator built at each end of his larger-than-Graceland summer home, so that he would not have to use the stairs and could always have his snack dolly with him.

Other members of the 1% who have waterfront summer homes on Torch Lake have pleaded with MM to stay out of the water. They experience extensive flooding damage every time he wades into Torch Lake.

(* Torch Lake is about 30 miles from Traverse City, on Lake Michigan)

  • Max Rugemer

Can ;you imagine what fun Michael Moore would’ve had in Stalin’s Soviet Union or today in the Mullah’s Iran? Moron Moore would have NOTHING without Capitalism plus the unprincipled Democrat MEDIA that always promote talent free Democrat trash like Moore, Alec Baldwin & Maher.

  • camnpat

Hey Michael, I’ll tell you the same thing I tell people who praise other form of government: why don’t you move somewhere without capitalism? You loved Cuba so much. Why don’t you move there since it is the best place in the world? Why do you stick around? You have no love for the flag, so it ain’t that.

Could it be that you enjoy the freedom of having an open mic to voice your opinions? Could it be you enjoy the fact nobody is coming to expropriate your properties? Could it be the fact you make money from opening your big, hypocritical mouth? Or the fact that you made a couple of crappy movies and became a wealthy one percenter?

A little secret Michael: all that was achieved thanks to capitalism and free markets.

  • Kenneth James Abbott

Of course, it was’t only Wall Street. The people who got to live in homes they blatantly couldn’t pay for got a small victory, even though it couldn’t last forever…

More important, the union thugs and democrat politicians (or perhaps “and/or”?) won as well, as they came out of the whole mess with millions of dollars of someone else’s money.

  • capisce

Moore sued his producers for 2.7M, disputing profits from Fahrenheit 9/11.
Capitalism/profits – I’m no economist, but I think you need one to achieve the other.

    • CatHerder

I still think Ray Bradbury should have sued him over the title.

Michael Moore is a dweeb. I really feel sorry for him he really doesn’t have a clue and he seems to be more and more clueless as time goes on. I hope he sees the error of his ways before long I would hate to see him meet God with his attitude.

  • ActaNonVerba

The real crime being committed here which Michael Moore is not willing to talk about or acknowledge because it would tilt his left wing mantra upside down is that our government has handed over the control of our money supply to a cartel of banks via our central banking system. For its part this central bank and government itself have both been on a 40 year run of fiat currency and interest rate manipulation to sustain government spending at obscene levels while pumping up artificial economic booms all of which has only seen average American wages lose out to inflation and resulted in large transfers of wealth from the middle-class to the wealthy. All in the name of Keynesian economics and pro-big government spenders looking to keep the gravy train of tax payer dollars rolling.

Lastly we don’t live in a true capitalist society as evidence of “Too big to fail” and government’s constant bailing out of businesses that should of gone under during the last bubble built up by government which burst and caught many of these banks Moore is railing against unprepared. Government’s continued subsidies to industries that should of failed or had inefficient players culled a long time ago via the business cycle of boom and bust, etc is a huge part of the problem as well, E.g. GM and US auto car makers and yes these banks Moore dislikes..

In the end capitalism doesn’t work if you remove failure from the system as it is a key component to any true capitalist economic system which teaches lessons of both success (aka what works) and failure (most importantly what doesn’t work) to the society engaged in economic activity under a capitalist system. As it stands today our government via its meddling has ensured that if a business or industry is large enough they can continue making the same stupid and dangerous mistakes which drag down the rest of our economy instead of cutting off these diseased business enterprises laden with malignant and rotten leadership who never are slapped in the face with the error of their ways and thus they hold us all hostage.

  • Ooygin Yardel

    Dear Mike,
Ever since man roamed the earth, even before he stood upright, the soul purpose for waking up in the morning was to obtain food however he could. Now, right here in this country, food is everywhere. We have it anywhere we want, any time we want and we eat whatever we want. To us, eating is entertainment. That has never happened before in history. That’s capitalism pal and it seems to have served you in more ways than you can imagine.
Why can’t you just be thankful?
    Kind regards

  • Chris Barcelo

Lol, Detroit has pursued policies opposite of capitalism for as long as I can remember. Educate yourself in economics101. Capitalism died for the US shortly after the Civil War and most openly in 1913.

Just when I think that Michael Moore couldn’t say anything more stupid than the last stupid comment he made, he delivers and says something even more stupid than before. I just hope he has reserved a surgeon and a hospital bed in Cuba for the quadruple bypass he is going to need in about 3 days.
