Obama: Those canceled White House tours? The buck stops … somewhere over there; Update: Video added

During an interview that aired Tuesday on “Good Morning America,” George Stephanopoulos asked Obama about the White House tours canceled as part of Obama’s Sequesterpocalygeddon political maneuvering (not that Stephanopoulos framed it that way).

President “Wasn’t Me” replied, “You know, I have to say this was not a decision that went up to the White House.”

Yeah, and the sequester was a Republican idea.

Of course that was his answer, now that high profile media personalities are stepping in to offer to foot the bill.

But don’t worry! While it’s not his responsibility, President Knight in Shining Armor stands ready to make it all better.

He told Stephanopoulos, “Well, what I’m asking them is are there ways, for example, for us to accommodate school groups– you know, who may have traveled here with some bake sales. Can we make sure that– kids, potentially, can– can still come to tour?”

Obama tells Stephanopoulos nation’s debt is no biggie; Stephanopoulos fails to ask about Benghazi

Takes credit for everything and responsibility for nothing.

When Obama first came in, he sent Air Force One up to fly low over the Statue of Liberty for a photo op.
After the uproar about this, Obama had a guy in the office say he did it, as if an underling could send “Obama’s plane” anywhere.

The guy was “fired” and immediately went to the Center for American Progress.

BREAKING NEWS: Obama blames someone else.

You can’t tell me he hasn’t heard of the offers from Hannity and Trump to fund the tours. His ego is just way too big to accept them. His handlers know the public is pissed so now he is doing everything he can for the chillren. What a crock. Hannity is right- he is so damn predictable.

  • https://twitter.com/tweetyuo Tangchung

Obama is a liar and a coward.

  • almarquardt

So if children can prove they earned their travel expenses through bake sales, Obama might allow an exception to the tours. How gregarious of him. So much for being For The Children (TM).

Tell me how this works: White House tours not controlled by said White House. Isn’t that like saying a head chef doesn’t get to decide what said chef cooks?

  • grais

    $16 trillion debt…no biggie.
White House tours…WE GOTTA FIX THAT!!

  • Jd1367

The more I think about it, this is the most transparent administration ever. I mean, is there anyone that can’t see right through this BS artist?

    • Tukas

Loads of them. That is how he got back into office.

  • http://twitter.com/standsomemore StandSomeMore

When the hell is someone going to ask who is making all these decisions? Close the white house, not obama. Troops ordered to stand-down in Benghazi, reduction of security entrances to the Senate. NOT ME! Says Obama. Well, then, who the hell is it?

    • Matthew Morris

“Not Me!” It’s official, we have Billy from Family Circus as the president.

  • Andy Rigo

    Obama lied, children cried.

  • Loves2laugh

Wouldn’t #FLOTUS be upset about what they’re selling at those bake sales?

    • Elaine

I thought they wanted to ban bake sales and lemonade stands?

    • mdtljt

Actually….HimSelf & The Empress WANT the kids who raised money from bake sales to come…so they can “re-educate” them & their evil, carb & sugar pushing parents for the heinous crime of NOT expecting the rest of us to foot their travel…OH THE HORROR!!!! Self-reliance WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!! Ppppfffffttttttttt

  • Andy Rigo

Obama passes the buck. In other news, water is wet.

  • Agent_Zeero

Lets see, I don’t think the White House tours are managed by the Legislative or Judicial branch. So, that leaves the Executive branch. Of which this doofus is the MFIC so, what Barry is basically saying is that some goobermint no-op has more authority than he does

  • Peyton

Oh No. Not Bake sales of fattening goods and goodies. No wonder the Obama’s won’t let them in. Can’t be paying for the trip with “sin” money.

  • stellatruman

If the White House tours resume, the state run/lapdog / mainstream media will turn Obama into a hero, failing magazines will vote him as man of the year and the libs will continue to adore him…it’s Bush’s fault after all

  • putthehammerdown

So, now kids/groups that visit the White House can get in on a Bake Sale Waiver ?
Does anyone see any difficulties with this plan” ?
Proof of Bake Sale, in Triplicate? 20% to O for A?
#1099 for tax purposes ,copy included in request?
Backround checks for all concerned and a DNC-only personal reference?
Does Joe Biden have to do with any of this, or can he be bought off with a couple-a brownies?

    • Adela Wagner

Not to mention the EPA CDC and local health Dept. inspections of said kitchens where baked products originated, all product having the correct ingredient labels attached, calorie counts posted etc. etc. blah blah blah screwu screwu screwu

    buck passer
    noun Informal.
a person who avoids responsibility by shifting it to another, especially unjustly or improperly. e.g. Barack Obama

“Well, what I’m asking them is are there ways, for example, for us to accommodate school groups– you know, who may have traveled here with some bake sales*. Can we make sure that– kids, potentially, can– can still come to tour?”

    Emphasis mine.

Note the “bake sale” reference. This is just a mechanism to enable the targeting of unlicensed & unregistered bake sales for shutdown and confiscation of goods and funds.

Remember how we were assured that though the Obamacare & ‘Pure Foods Act’ legislation could be used to shut down community bake sales and soup kitchens, it wouldn’t be… But we’re always reading of cooked foods donated by churches being thrown out, kids & schools bake sales shut down & fined (I read of one 12yr old who was fined 100 times the amount of sales by the judge in addition to the destruction of the existing product and the remaining supplies his parents had purchased for him…).

Though I say “targeting” tongue-in-cheek, on the second reading it seems all too much in the realm of possibility. Wasn’t the phrasing of the comments w/the food act used “it is no one’s intent to have government monitor or disallow bake sales…”?

What a sad state of affairs when there is literally no aspect of one’s life untrampled by the heavy hob-nailed jackboots of Government.

I thought bake sales were outlawed. Takes credit from the SEAL Team for killing bin laden, but didn’t make the decision to close the White House? Yeah, I believe him. How about we cut the secret service coverage needed for golf outings?

  • louisiana_mom

Everything that’s good, he takes credit (even when it is in spite of him and his policies); everything bad is someone else’s fault! What would be news worthy is if this man ever took responsibiltity for his own actions.

  • Adela Wagner

Just what the Hell DOES HE DO? Well, besides the ONLY shovel ready job I’ve seen? Have to admit, he’s good at spreading the BS around. Fed gov’t added almost 2600 federal jobs SINCE beginning of Sequester….

  • Symph2001

Well how could kids earn money from bake sales when Michelle has banned schools from having them?!?

Don’t you know that every good decision* is a direct result of Obama’s brilliance and leadership abilities, and every bad decision* is a direct result of ‘someone else’ doing something without Obama ever knowing about it?

*Good decisions and bad decisions measured relatively against current polling, of course.

do they have to furlow anybody at Michelle’s birthday party? oh wait, obama is going to pay for that out of pocket., cough cough…..yeah right…….or what about one of michelle’s 14 vacation’s? how about the obama kids secret trip to mexico with their 15 best friends and secret service detail? any furlows going to happen for that kind of stuff or just needed for the pubic tax payers who actually pay their salaries?………this guy allows his administration to spend hundreds of millions over and over on companies in the name of green energy that fail in less than a year or 2, but now is going to cancel white house tours over economic problems that he and his people in the senate chose to create is insulting and shameful.
