New ad takes on Colo. gun-grabbers: ‘Don’t you dare tell me how to best defend myself’

War on Women, indeed.

Dems like to talk about freedom of choice, but when it comes to women defending themselves, that freedom isn’t so sacred. Hush now, they say. Democrats know what’s best.

Laura Carno, founder of I Am Created Equal, isn’t willing to let self-appointed kings decide how women should respond to the threat of rape. Today she announced the debut of a new radio ad in gun-grabbing Colorado. Transcript via the I Am Created Equal YouTube channel:

Politicians are not kings. Let me say that again. Politicians are not kings. They’re not superior to citizens and their job is not to tell us the food we can eat, the soda we can buy or how we can best defend ourselves. Who’s to tell me how many bullets are enough to defend me during a rape? One bullet, five bullets, ten bullets? How about as many as I need to stop the rape. These politicians, these bureaucrats, need to be reminded that we are all free to make our own decisions. We all have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And you know, if guns aren’t right for you, don’t own one. But don’t you dare tell me how to best defend myself. I’m Laura Carno, an ordinary Colorado citizen who believes in the Constitution. Love this ad. This in a nutshell is the difference between a conservative woman and a liberal one. Liberals, who love to call themselves feminists- want others to take care of them, whether it be the government paying for their birth control or police MAYBE protecting them if they are raped, or their parents keeping them under their roof and on their insurance until they are close to 30 years old. Conservatives women want to take care of themselves. Probably because they are mostly mothers that know how to do it and have been doing it for years :)

Regarding what you said about feminists wanting everyone else to take care of them, which they do, isn’t it pathetically ironic that these are the same females (they are NOT ladies or women) who crow about how self-sufficient they are? If they were truly as self-sufficient as they claim to be they should be railing against the wholesale freedom-grab that’s being rammed down our throats…hey, Fembots – remember the government can take everything from you if you play this dangerous game. You disgrace the memory of all those strong & courageous women who fought for YOUR right to vote…you don’t have to carry a gun if you don’t want to but you have ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT to even TRY to take that right from others. You’re all pathetic excuses for women. I also hope you can stockpile barf & p*ss in your bodies for when you find yourselves in a situation that would be a non-issue had you had a gun…

“memory of all those strong & courageous women who fought for YOUR right to vote…”

Glad you said this because I forgot it in my original post- Today’s feminism has no resemblance to the real feminists that fought for women’s rights.

I think this might be the best way to get people to understand what we mean when we talk about “freedom”.

It’s not that we want to go and violently assault other people, we just want the government to leave us alone so that we can make our own decisions on how to best serve our own interests.

With freedoms being attacked by pacifists from all sides, to paraphrase an old idiom about the greatness of men, I say behind every great country stands a CONSERVATIVE woman.

Well done Laura. Your voice is loud and clear. What a wonderful ad.

    • Tom Bannigan

They are not pacifists. The passive agressive behavior is still a form of agression.

  • GaryTheBrave

I’m afraid it’s too late. This ad should have been airing BEFORE the House vote.

  • Devon Melanie Dougall

You are wonderful, Laura! Fantastic ad, and the companies you lose, you should POST them so we women will know who NOT to shop from or support in any way!

    • Jo Atkins

The companies they lose are the companies where you do want to shop. These companies are leaving because they support these people’s right to own guns and any size magazine they choose.

As the left says so snidely, “Well-behaved women seldom make history.”

To which I add, “And well-armed women seldom get raped.”

    • E Quilibrate

Hard to argue that form of logic.

  • alanstorm

The “Party of Choice” is only concerned with two choices:

    1. Who to have sex with
    2. Whether to abort the result

On any other subject, they want to make your choices FOR you. For your own good, of course.
