Sinkhole appears in DC neighborhood, fails to swallow up the government

This afternoon, D.C. police reported a 25-foot-deep sinkhole in the Adams Morgan neighborhood:

A gaping maw in Washington? This is just too easy:

Alas. As it turns out, initial reports were a bit … exaggerated:

As someone who at one point of my life (college) spent a few (many) drunk nights in Adams Morgan, thank God this didn’t happen at night.

Also, thank God it didn’t take out a Jumbo Slice spot.

It’s either Bush’s fault or the result of man-made global warming. Take your pick.

Wow, another case of Obama’s Sequestration hurting the nation!

That would explain the giant sucking sound coming from DC.

It’s not an actual “hole” – this is DC so it’s really a smaller version of the expected incline.

A sinkhole cannot compete with a money pit.
