God bless America.

The New York Post nails it this morning with a celebration of the time-out handed to Mayor Bloomberg by a New York judge.

Wait, no Nanny Mike Poppins? Is the Post slacking?

Nah, there it is:

This is but another example of the Fundamental Contradiction of the Democratic Nanny State:

How is a person incompetent to decide how much soda he personally
will drink, but when he steps into the voting booth, magically
transubstantiates into being competent to elect a Bloomberg to make that
same decision, not just for himself, but for everyone?

    • DV S1EOG

The same way that incompetent minors also can’t decide how much soda to drink yet they are able to make adult decisions about birth control, the morning after pill and, although still a minor and unable to enter into any binding contract, can still sign a medical waiver for an abortion. It is all hypocritical.

      • The Monster

A girl who isn’t allowed to take Midol to school to ease her menstrual cramps, and is legally unable to form the consent to the sex act that suspends them, is magically empowered to abort the pregnancy by virtue of having crossed the threshold of a clinic.

        • DV S1EOG

None of it makes sense to me. I think some of these politicians need to have their brains reset. …with a brick.

          • James Atkins

Blame the morons that keep voting for these tools. I mean, I would try and keep doing stupid stuff if people keep voting me in

The most depressing part is how many of those voters are just plain unaware of even the well known issues such as this.

Of course setting aside that the lower voter turnout in mayoral elections means that it is always the diehards who show up, and these are usually the self righteous yuppies and are all for the soda ban whose only complaint is that it doesn’t extend as far as to banning red meat.

Good! How the heck do they expect Americans to wash down their 4 lb triple cheeseburgers with 10 strips of bacon without a 48 ounce coke! Or that bucket of popcorn with extra butter type liquid. All Americans should be free to be as morbidly obese as they want. Nothing better to laugh at than a fatter than hell American shopping for snacks on their scooters in Walmart.

    • bossmanham

Yes. We should be free to do that if we choose.

    • TomJB

Yes, you do get it. Its called “pro-choice”, moron. People should be able to eat whatever they hell they choose. Of course, the ramifications of doing so also should be your responsibility, and yours alone – i.e. we should also all be responsible for our own healthcare!

If you want to eat something like this, you have the freedom to do it.

      • RushLpig

Good! I respect your right to be a gross fatty TomBJ. Let me ask, does your obesity interfere with other peoples rights? Does your fat spill over onto the next persons seat on an airplane perhaps? Do you expect motorized shopping carts at stores because you are too fat to walk? Costs for those fat carts are passed down to all consumers. Being a fatty does affect other people. But you go ahead and keep chowing down on wheelbarrows full of meat and gulping 100 ounce cokes. I don’t care if you die young. One less stupid republican in the world.

        • ZoriahShepard

Now all fat people are Republicans? Nice logic leap, dullard.
Are you Bloomberg in disguise? Because he too accuses the obese of breaking the nation’s budget. Certainly it can’t be all the unemployed people or Obamacare or the liberal progressives that are running the nation. No, it’s the 300+ guy in line buying another Big Mac.

          • Hiraghm

Been my considerable experience that the vast majority of porkers in those scooters at Wal-mart have been leftists. Along with the ones who poop in the aisles, steal merchandise, abuse employees, smoke in the bathrooms, and can’t figure out how to read a “Closed Area” sign or add up the cost of the purchases they make with their food stamps.

          • RushLpig

Just look to a tea party rally to see who the fatties are. Enormous people with button popping guts waving merican flags. Look at the stats Jimmy, the REAL porker states are all red states. As for pooping in the aisles, ewwww, wouldn’t know about that. What kind of websites do you enjoy? That’s sick. As for food stamps, Red States enjoy those the most. All those unwed teen moms I guess.

          • Garth Haycock

You’re just not that bright, are you?

          • RushLpig

I’m bright enough to know that red states are the fattest states. Full of flag waving patriotic porkers.

            Actually, those motorized wagons were meant for Senior Citizens ands the Disabled, who have trouble standing or walking. I know this because 1)I used to work in a supermarket, and 2)my Grandmother and Aunt used those Motor Carts (Yeah, my Aunt was Obese, but only from years of working in a Bank). Jawamax 8<{D}

Where did I say I would eat that? Can you say “projection”?

          – does your obesity interfere with other peoples rights?

I think I covered that with don’t expect me to pay for your bad choices, like subsidizing your healthcare.

And no, I’m hardly obese: 5’6″ 155 lbs. Plenty of PT for me in the Army. Do any 25 mile ruck marches with 35 lb packs up mountains in Korea lately?

          – Do you expect motorized shopping carts at stores because you are too fat to walk?

Nope. Again, freedom of the store to choose to have them or not. Customers can choose whether or not to shop at stores that have them, thus not subsidizing anything if they don’t want to. Its funny how simple letting people and organizations make their own choices is, then letting the marketplace shake out what works, isn’t it? I bet you adhere to the “pro-choice” is only for abortion crowd, don’t you?

          – One less stupid republican in the world.

Actually, you are right, I am a republican, though I’m pretty sure you are by mistake. Notice the small “r”. There’s a big difference between that and a capital “R” Republican, which is what I would wager you meant. Not that I would expect a “genius” like you to understand that. And I won’t be checking out anytime soon due to my health, but thank you for your concern.

          – TomBJ

OH! I almost missed your sexual innuendo. Wow, you sure are edgy! You got me good!

I am 5 feet, 8-1/2 inches tall, weigh 170 lbs., and am considered “Husky”; I eat “Old-school Hearty” (The way we ate before we moved to Florida), and even when I eat less, or try to eat healthy, my weight stays about the same. But if I tell anybody ANYTHING, I give it as advice, or precautionary (based on personal experience) but I NEVER tell anyone how to live their life.
    Oh, and by the way, Mayor Herr Bloomberg (SEIG HEIL!), your job is to make the City run efficiently, not tell your Constituents how to live! Jawamax 8<{D}
