‘Deeply saddened’: Rev. Jesse Jackson mourns Hugo Chavez on social media before attending funeral

Rev. Jesse Jackson will attend the state funeral for Hugo Chavez in Caracas on Friday. Fox News notes that Jackson “was presented with the Liberator’s Award by Chavez in 2005, and spoke to the Venezuelan Parliament as part of the ceremony.”

More from Jackson’s mournful and affectionate Facebook note about the Venezuelan tyrant:

I extend my deepest condolences to his family and along with people around the globe, am deeply saddened by his passing. During this sad and difficult moment in the lives of all those affected by this unfortunate news, we most always remember that God is our refuge and strength. I join the people of Venezuela, especially the family and friends of President Chavez, in mourning this global leader.

Rev Jackson will do anything to distance himself from his soon to be jailed son JJJr and Chicago.

    • Miss Clairee

But Jesse Jackson can never distance himself from his admission that he used to spit in white people’s food and that it gave him psychological gratification! Any wonder his son grew up to be a bi-polar crook?

      • https://twitter.com/tweetyuo Tangchung

True, whole family are crooks and looney.

  • conservativechick

What the hell is wrong with people in this country? The man HATED us and was a tyrant? Sickos.

The reason so many on the LEFT embrace these dictators
is because they all share a deep rooted hatred for this country.

I think Jackson should just stay there in Venezuela after the funeral

    • Blake Waymire

It’s not just hatred for this country. It’s envy. The left wants the power Chavez had over Venezuela. That’s the real reason so many of them hate the Constitution.

      • https://twitter.com/Webnetcity webnetcity

        You nailed it Blake!

      • $23629333

Bingo! Portsiders are control freaks. They dream of being in a position of power like Hugo Chavez, and being able to dictate to people. New York City elected someone who demonstrates that same desire to tell people how to live their lives, right down to their choice of snacks and soft drinks.

Typical cowardly liberal…insult and run. Anything to deflect the discussion.

Jesse should stay in Venezuela, along with everyone who went there voluntarily.

  • http://apostrophejones.com/ Gloves Donahue, Jr.

    That’s no surprise.
Jesse should have taken Calypso Louie with him.

  • HARP2

Don`t worry Jackson…..your turn is coming.

I am deeply saddened that I could not be in the public square to cheer the demise of another vicious dictator who is now seated next to the devil.

Jesse just wants his name back in the news again. He has every right to mourn Chavez, but why make a big deal out of it if you aren’t seeking attention?

  • $23629333

I recall a portsider-in-training I attended school with decades ago. He was your typical know-it-all, big-mouth, little twerp. This guy – Allan – was obnoxious and condescending with everyone except the teachers, the principal, and Tom, the school bully. Allan tried very hard to befriend – and save himself from – Tom, to limited success.

Portsiders like Allan are drawn to – and fawn over – anyone with power and/or in a position to possibly harm them. Someone like Allan is the sort of person who will write an article, or an entire book, which white-washes the life and career of a dictator or a mobster.

I saw this morning that Chavez ordered his body to be
preserved and put under glass on public display forever. It shouldn’t be
forgotten that Stalin, Lenin, Ho Chi Minh, Mao, Sung, even Kim Jong gave the
same final orders to be “preserved forever.” These brutal leftist dictators not
only killed, robbed and/or starved millions but considered themselves as
timeless, even as gods. Every month or two these grand-square mausoleums in broken
countries around the world are closed down so artists can do touch-ups on their
“dear leaders.” But their preserved bodies are just an artist’s rendition; they
will surely return to dust here on earth as there is exactly ONE living God.

hopefully he is placed in direct sunlight

My son and I will be attending the state funeral for Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez today.”

  • Garth Haycock

I am not deeply saddened by Chavez’s death. I think it’s awesome.

    • JD

Just curious, but do you consider yourself a Christian? If so, you are a horrible one, to have such a view.

      • Garth Haycock

Just curious, but do you consider yourself someone whose opinion of me is something I should care about?

If you, as a leftist , are saddened by the death of Chavez, that’s fine. But stop being a judgmental bigot and allow others their own opinion.

      • ProfShadow

I’m not a Christian and I’m glad he’s assumed room temperature.

Chavez was no friend to Christians either. He’s just gone on “to meet his maker” in their symbolism. Something to celebrate! Irish wake for Chavez, anyone??

  • roccolore

Will Reverend of Nothing Jesse Jackass also attend Robert Mugabe’s funeral?

  • TocksNedlog

Jackson loves how Chavez cared about his country’s poor.
He cared about them SO MUCH, he kept them perpetually dependent upon the state for their very survival.

    • AZWarrior

Tocks, that reminds me of the phrase “loving someone to death” (literally).

  • capisce

A civil rights advocate paying homage to a human rights violator. I would love to know how the good reverend reconciles the dichotomy.

    • Catchance

      He’d do a little rhyming:

“Hugo’s a dictator below the equator, but I’m not a traitor, just a debater.”

  • AZWarrior

Dr. King must be turning in his grave. Dr. King fought FOR civil rights, not AGAINST the United States. Dr. King loved his country even when he knew it needed to do some things better. Jesse always brings up his association with Dr. King, but he acts like just the opposite of Dr. King.

  • RightThinking1

    Meanwhile, at Madam Tassauds:

First worker:”Blimey!…. we’re up against it for room in the Marxist Dictator Display. When Castro goes, we’ll have to bung ‘im into the bloody caretaker’s closet”

Second worker: ” Oh, ho!…good one!.., we can just rename it the ‘Bloody Closet’…”

  • JoeMusgo

Does anyone know if Joe “Joe For Oil” Kennedy will be attending the funeral? Surely with so many dictators present Joe will be able to raise money for more commercials touting, well, Joe Kennedy…

  • nc

Which is scarier: the fact that so many well known Americans (like Jackson) are “mourning” Chavez and praising him, or that they are so unembarrassed about announcing it?

    • SpinMeNot

      The latter, definitely the latter.

  • Axelgreaser

JACKSON SR., ‘SPIRITUAL COUNSELOR’ TO THE CLINTON’S during the ‘Monica troubles’ (how could they have endured without him?) is just what Venezuela needs now to buoy them up. Another Socialist-Marxist taking his place in the crowd waving around a doll likenesse of ‘Cavez Of Arabia.’ And the bright side is, race & welfare hustler Jackson being out of the country for any length of time, for whatever the reason is as former house arrested and quotable Martha Stewart enthusiastically chirpped in her clipped Eastern manner: “It’s a good thing.” That phrase is so perfect. Chavez naturally would be a hero to Jackson, who until he trashed Obama on that open mic by blurting: ‘Obama should be castrated’ and becoming persona non grata, Jackson might have been chosen to do even more to promote ‘Hope & Change’ than he is now. He might have had Chavez’s ear and learned a few good tricks on how to promote the same kind of victimization of the people as Chavez did, creating a nightmare society of government dependence by the people and crime, even as he racked up a $2 billion fortune. More than enough cash to float a loan to fellow socialist Barack Obama, enabling him to keep the White House Touring services open in the wake of ‘Sequestration’ and preventing weeping throngs of Girl Scouts who foolishly thought the White House was the ‘people’s house…imagine! Now, we know Obama is the ‘punisher’ (though as he’s explained “I am not a dictator”) and has literally hammered the White House doors shut and yanked out the door bell off the wall, but compared to Chavez who REALLY knew how to make the people suffer, that prank might have brought a smile to Chavez had he been alive or concious to enjoy it.

Perhaps grieving Jackson, Sean Penn and Oliver Stone can prop one another up during the sad, draining funeral proceedings which may expose the three to those who could possibly be shouting ‘Burn in hell!”, along with, like them, admiring people who will congregate side by side in great numbers we assume. It’s scheduled to take place outside the military academy where a funeral ceremony will take place for him in Caracas, Venezuela, (today) Friday, March 8, 2013, and marking the end of 14 years in power:

“…though in some ways the former paratrooper is not going anywhere: Venezuela announced Thursday that it would embalm his body and put it on permanent display. Chavez died on March 5 after a nearly two-year bout with cancer. He was 58.”–Unquote/AP,The Big Story; excerpted from a story by VIVIAN SEQUERA and JORGE RUEDA— Mar. 8

Isn’t it a comfort though, that America’s forefather’s wisely stated the terms and duration of Presidential service so clearly in our of late beleagured U.S. Constitution and that we will never have to endure what for Chavez was more of a ‘reign.’ Will we? And maybe is was all a misunderstanding that night in Grant Park when Obama was elected the first time and Jackson was misquoted. Our MSM never seems to get anything straight anymore, so perhaps he said: “Obama should be more like Castro?” Hopefully in the midst of Jackson and whomever was at his side will at least advice him not to throw quarters and packs of chewing gum out of the limo like a Chitcago hick. That city seems to produce politcal types with the worst manners who have a knack of ingoring protocol.

Jackson should worry MORE about his family than those of a dictator,, but than JESSIE the LOSER loves to grab the spot light whenever he can. .. he would fit well with McCain, GRAHAM, and the rest of the politicians who are OLD.. JEALOUS and HAS BEENS.. A pitiful bunch..

  • Charlene Grinder

Will Jackson ever pay for stealing money from the elderly. He is nothing but a sub-human thief. He is a disgrace to the African American people. He has no integrity or morals. Karma will catch up to him.

    • lillymckim

Jackson has made a fine living off the backs of poor black senior citizens!
Just like the good Rev’s Al Sharpton & Rev Wright the preachers of hate.
