Obama pardons man convicted of possessing unregistered firearm

President Obama granted 17 pardons late Friday afternoon, including one to a man sentenced to four years probation for possession of an unregistered firearm and possession of a firearm without a serial number.

Others pardoned today had been convicted of a range of crimes, ranging from food stamp fraud to cocaine possession to conspiracy to defraud the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

I woud say hypocrite, but that is obvious

    • Secede

I wonder how many of them were relatives of his here illegally ?

      • http://www.black-and-right.com/ IceColdTroll

I wonder what those convictions were a plea bargain down from.

  • Maxx

Do you finally get it now libs? The man is a walking whited sepulcher.

    • http://www.facebook.com/brett.mcmicken Brett McMicken

well, on his mother’s side, at least

  • Love of Country

I bet that was no white Republican he just pardoned, lol … jus sayin’.

  • michael s

Maybe he should be like Ronald Reagan, who pardoned nearly 10x the amount of criminals at the same amount of time in office.

    • GaryTheBrave

Many of those pardons were given to people who had served their time and had become exemplary citizens. A few issued posthumously.

      • michael s

As I stated before, when he leaves office,I guarantee Pres Obama will not pardon as many criminals as your law and order icon Reagan.

        • SpinMeNot

You are probably correct, after all, BHO doesn’t want the competition.

        • Guest

Oh how I love the sound of that. When he leaves office. Great day for America when that happens.

        • http://www.black-and-right.com/ IceColdTroll

          See Gary’s comment, meathead.

        • lainer51

awww… still trying to find ways to prop up your BFF…. and please don’t tease me with those 4 great words – WHEN HE LEAVES OFFICE…

        • Hiraghm

He won’t have to; the real criminals in his administration won’t even be charged.

    • Maxwell

Not the point. The point is, he pardoned someone for possessing an illegal firearm while preaching gun control.

    • Catchance

Oh, for heaven’s sake, Michael. Give it a rest. The actual point here is the hypocrisy of saying how evil guns are, how a background check needs to be done for everyone buying one, then pardoning someone with an unregistered one. You’re like a little kid: “He did it first!”

I’m waiting for when he pardons Tony Rezco, as Clinton pardoned Marc Rich. Cronyism redux.

      • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

Cat, It would also be nice if before he tries to ban ANY kind of rifle, that he’d account for all those he sent across the Mexican border first.

        • michael s

Not as bad as selling missles he sold to an ENEMY NATION IRAN..

          • Michael

Getting the hostile Iranian regime to clandestinely fund the Contra Rebels in Nicaragua was actually a stroke genius.

Only cry baby liberals thought it was a scandal. They only wet their pants because a Republican was in the White House.

          • bonnieblue2A

If the far leftists cared about illegal gun running by the Feds they would have been outraged over Operation Fast & Furious where Obama/Holder/Breuer ran guns & grenades to known felons and Mexican drug cartels.. Instead, they called it a non-issue.

          • http://www.black-and-right.com/ IceColdTroll

How old ar you? You seem to really enjoy living in the past. Or at least deflecting discussion from the present.

say, did you know that even all through WW2, Saint Franklin allowed IBM to sell its calculating machines to the Nazis? That’s how they were able to keep such precise death tallies in camps. Thanks to IBM and Franklin Roosevelt. You remember Saint Franklin. He’s the one who put a hundred thousand US citizens into concentration camps because of their skin color.

          • Hiraghm

No American President ever put a single American citizen into a concentration camp.

Internment camps were not concentration camps, the comparison is sickeningly ignorant. Internment camps were used by the Germans, Japanese, Italians, British, Americans and others in more than one war as a standard way of dealing with foreign nationals and those with dual citizenship within a nation’s borders.

The skin color of the Germans and Italians placed in internment camps in the United States during WWII was white.

          • Hiraghm

He overcharged the Iranians for weapons to use against Iraq and used the excess money to fund the freedom fighters in central America that the communists in Congress would not support.

            Simply brilliant.

          • michael s

You’re aware that because of your hero and these illegal and incorrect actions came ms-13.

      • Guest

Could not have put it better myself.

      • GaryTheBrave

I would like to see O pardon Scooter Libbey, you know, for bipartisanship and to live up to his claim that he is a uniter.

    • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

Hipocracy: Professing guns are bad but yet pardoning someone who had an unregistered firearm and a firearm without a serial number. “If you want to buy a gun — whether it’s from a licensed dealer or a private seller — you should at least have to show you are not a felon or somebody legally prohibited from buying one,” Obama

    • almarquardt

Let’s judge individual actions, not give that person a pass because you believe someone else was worse. That’s like saying I shouldn’t be convicted for
murdering one person, because someone else murdered two.

  • http://twitter.com/Queen9ine Queen9ine

We better savor the flavor because that sure will never happen again.

    The Dear Liar seems to have an affinity for Criminals and terrorists, especially those who break those kinds of laws. {Obama’s Guns for Gangsters operation anyone}

Now, as far as 120 Million Innocent people who would just like to keep a basic human right – Watch Out, the Dear Liar is gunning (pardon the pun) for you!

  • b_truit

Surprised? No. Just sittin here chewing my jerky with my ar, sig, browning and a whole safe behind me waiting for em to knock. Joe told me to shoot at the door.
Ps: fellow conservatives please knock on my window.

    • bonnieblue2A

Creepy Uncle Joe says to shoot through the door and Big Sis says to run with scissors. I wish they would get their defensive tactics manuals on the same page.

    • Hiraghm

Knock three times on the ceiling if you want me…. twice on the pipes if the answer is no..

  • wbmccl

Here’s the story behind the guy that got pardoned. I imagine progressives will completely ignore the gun issue in exchange for the “he couldn’t vote” angle. I have nothing against the guy getting a pardon, but it just goes to show that everything this administration does is political, not principled.

  • almarquardt

It’d be interesting to see how many of the pardoned contributed to his campaign.

  • http://apostrophejones.com/ Gloves Donahue, Jr.

Obama hired Stedman Holder, who pushed the pardon of Marc Rich, a fugitive from the FBI. Not much later, Denise Rich donated a large amount to the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor.

  • Red

You all need to read the details of this pardon. The gun did not belong to this fellow. He had loaned a friend money $20 to buy it and was holding it until he got the money. He didn’t know the serial number was missing. There is no such thing as firearms “registration” in Georgia or the USA for a shotgun. The gun didn’t even have a firing pin. He paid a fine and got four years probation. Get the facts before you spew.

    • TexSizzle

The facts are: Mr. Obama is campaigning to take away our God-given, constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms, and he pardoned someone convicted of a firearms “violation”. We are talking about his hypocrisy, not the alleged crime.

    • Guest

He didn’t know the serial number was missing? Is he blind? Face the facts your Messiah is a hypocritical racist liar.

    • http://www.black-and-right.com/ IceColdTroll

That’s called being a straw buyer and is also a felony. And when you purchase a firearm, you DO have a responsibility to make sure it is a legal weapon, which includes not having serial numbers filed off. What you are saying is pure shite.

Haha, I bet “Red” is your politics, innit?

      • Hiraghm

It was a legal weapon; it was a firearm, therefore an arm, and therefore protected by the 2nd Amendment. I have no responsibility to ensure that weapon I purchase is a legal weapon, cause I’m pretty sure the gov’t is going to define any weapon I acquire in order to combat them as “illegal”.

    • GaryTheBrave

As has already been mentioned it is a Federal crime to purchase a firearm for someone else or to possess a firearm without a serial number. Ignorance of the laws is no excuse.

      • Hiraghm

“ignorance of the laws is no excuse”???
What about ignorance of Article 2, section 1 clause 5 of the Constitution?

What about ignorance as to the meaning of “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED”?
Last I checked, the Constitution was superior in authority to any federal law.

    • Hiraghm

Registration and serial number requirements are violations of the 2nd Amendment…

  • RightThinking1

    17 pardons, 17 more votes.

  • nickshaw

How did a person with an unregistered, number filed off, firearm only get 4 years probation in the first place? Not to mention the anti-gun preezy giving him a pardon.
Maybe ’cause he holds it like this — like his son would.

    • Hiraghm

Somebody whispered the 2nd Amendment into the judge’s ear?

  • bonnieblue2A

Sine when did federal firearms felonies become a “minor offense”? Was this guy a friend of David Gregory or what?

    • Hiraghm

Ever since “firearms felonies” stopped being known as an oxymoron.

  • BeeKaaay

I wonder how much were the campaign contributions? :)

    • $23639361

…and I’ll go ahead and be the waaaaaacist the lefty’s & assault media sez I am… how many were based on skin color? Inquiring minds want to know.

  • Raye09

When will Obama Pardon the filmaker that he jailed for his “anti-islam” video and blamed Benghazi on? The man is obviouslt innocent and a video did not spark the attack.
And this just proves Obama is a hypocrite and can’t pick a stance, first his ever changing opinion on gay marriage and now his ever changing opinion on gun control.

  • Hiraghm

    FINALLY Obama does something right.

    • SpinMeNot

While I agree with you that BHO actually did something that is Constitutionally correct — don’t you find it to be rather hypocritical that he rails against guns on one day and then pardons someone of a gun crime that his administration would like to see have increased levels of punishment?

I am continually amazed by the lack of understanding of the meaning of the phrases “shall make no law … prohibiting the free exercise thereof” and “shall not be infringed”. Apparently they are not simple English.
