Conn. Dem lawmaker offers to show teen girl the ‘snake’ under his desk

A Connecticut Democrat made a lewd comment to a high school senior at a recent legislative hearing. She was 17 years old.

The teen girl visited the Connecticut state Capitol to deliver a speech to a committee. She explained that working at the science center had helped her overcome her shyness and fear of snakes.

On Thursday, Rep. Hewett said, “In hindsight, I can really see how this can be misconstrued as something sexual.” Um, unless he did indeed have a python curled up under his desk, how else could it be construed?
