Obama henchman David Plouffe: Bob Woodward should be put out to pasture

The White House would never try to punish Bob Woodward for reporting the truth: that the sequester was Obama’s idea.

Former Obama adviser David Plouffe left the White House in January, so much like OFA, he has absolutely no connection to President Obama. Remember, he’s totally “independent.”

Just like Obama’s media bridesmaids, Plouffe doesn’t technically work for the administration. And his desperate, Chicago-style attempt to paint Woodward as past his prime has nothing to do with Obama’s White House. Nothing at all, you nutty wingnuts.

Yes, isn’t that fascinating?

I’m torn. Should I be rooting for Woodward or cheering for injuries on both sides? Either way, it’s a good show.

    • LochGates44

I’d take a wait and see approach. Woodward could easily turn tail and kiss Obama’s backside or he could continue to act like a journalist.

Mr. Plouffe, if today’s pitchers were as ineffective at pitching as your former boss is at governing, I’d wager Mike Schmidt could step into the batters box this spring and still routinely hit the ball out of the park.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

I think you could even give Mike a rest and bring up the worst hitting pitcher from AAA and still have regular homers.

      • https://twitter.com/tweetyuo Tangchung

Saw Obama throw out the first pitch at a Chicago Sox game, he beaned a player in the dugout.

        • Mapache

Doubt Schmidt could hit an Obama pitch without stepping out of the box.

        • Garth Haycock

He can’t get the ball to the front of the plate from the mound. How the heck could he throw it all the way to the dugout?

Pravda has gotten its marching orders from the Central Committee. Woodward has been convicted of doubleplusungood thoughtcrime, and has now been deemed an unperson.

And David “We must destroy Sarah Palin!” Plouffe’s credentials are?……

    • NRPax

He’s liberal and supports Obama completely?

      • Jack Deth

        Hi, Pax and Phil:

Those are givens. Though Woodward is still basically untouchable and has Carte Blanche to go anywhere and tell his tale. I think it would be a mistake of massive proportions to take Woodward on. Which is exactly what I know Obama will do.

The question is: How much more credibility does Zero have to waste before hitting the point of diminishing returns?

        My answer. Not enough.

From liberal demi-god to liberal pariah in less than a day. They couldn’t have dumped him any faster if he threw a recyclable water bottle in the regular trash. Which makes me wonder, is there *anyone* libs aren’t willing to throw overboard for Obama? #RhetoricalQuestion #TheAnswerIsNo

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

To answer your question, no. They are all expendable.

Your first part made me laugh. I live in a rural county and we have green boxes for trash and garbage and recently have sheds with different bins for recyclables. It’s not mandatory…yet.

I routinely have, for lack of a better word, our hippies see me dumping plastic or cardboard. They’ll holler, “Hey, man! The recycling’s over here.”

I keep dumping what I have and reply, “Yeah. I know.” Sure I could do it, but I prefer annoying them more. I don’t watch much TV anymore and they are really entertaining when you spin them up.

      • davesnothere

Dude, you should recycle. You should also vote Republican and resist government tyranny at every opportunity. But that’s no excuse for not recycling.

        • Klawnet

          Recycling is a sham.

    • grais

Not that he was ever a demi-god to liberals (although he did defend against Clinton’s impeachment), but now Lanny Davis is admitting that Wash. Times was threatened, too. I wonder how long it will be before the left attacks him.

      http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2013/02/28/Lanny-Davis-White-House-Threatened-Washington-Times-Over-My-Column

      • Scott Carroll

They already consider him an apostate because he works for Fox and he’s chummy with Hannity, but you’re right. The threats made against Davis and his employer (if true) are much more troubling than the Woodward fiasco because they concern curtailing access as punishment for unfavorable coverage.

  • https://twitter.com/tweetyuo Tangchung

Out to pasture….uh huh..ask them Ikea meatballs about that scam.

  • Maxx

Bob will come out the other side of this a lot better than the “Skyfall” Sequester in Chief and his imbecilic doomsday chest thumping.

For this is the end (of my hysteria strategy)
I’ve drowned (the debt) and dreamt this moment.
So overdue I owe them (China)
Swept away, I’ve stolen (your paycheck)

  • Scott Carroll

Although we should stand by the observations we’ve made about the left eating their own to protect the Presidential neophyte, it looks like there really was nothing to that “threat”. I read the full email exchange over at Politico. Meh.

    • Marcy Cook

Have you never received a “veiled” threat?

      • Scott Carroll

That threat was so veiled a Muslim man would consider it marriage material.

    • milletime810

I agree the email exchange was rather innocuous, it seems like woodward making a big deal of it is self serving. It is true that the intent of the sequester was to drive a better agreement but it is naive to think that was ever actually going to happen.

  • Marcy Cook

Translation: Thank God we set up those death panels. Bob…you are old…off to the death panel…after all “It’s the law of the land now.”

      • Mapache

  • grais

    Could Plouffe BE more predictable?
This must be the transparency Obama was talking about.

  • Mapache

Glad the WH let is REALLY know how it feels about older people. Wish they had done it before the election.

  • Ollie

If they want to put Woodward out to pasture, let’s put at least 7 Supreme Court Justices out to pasture, along with some US Senators.

  • suibneg

we have a government that lies to its citizens, refuses to protect it citizens,
abuses the freedoms of its citizens, steals from its citizens, and breaks or
ignores the same laws that its citizens are made to obey. It is no government. It
is tyranny. And until we shake off the fear of reprisal we will suffer and
tomorrow’s sufferings will be even greater.

  • RightThinking1

Woodward simply lacks the gravitas of a Fluke, or a Dunham, or…, oh, a Jay-Z.

Heck, Woodward’s never even won an Oscar, and I rather doubt that O. reads books. Not that it would matter, Woodward is emblematic of that useless, counter-productive segment of society, Old White Males.

  • Dan Radmacher

Uh, guys, you know that Woodward completely oversold the whole “threat” thing, don’t you? Even conservative media outlets are disgusted with him. http://dailycaller.com/2013/02/28/bob-woodward-trolled-us-and-we-got-played/

    • Iacobus

So, wait. Woodward was a paragon of liberalism (and to that extent, journalism) until now?

And sorry to say: Matt Lewis (of Daily Caller) can kiss my ass.

  • FiveHats

Journalists should note that others are doing very well without access to Obama, example, Fox.

  • michael s

    I support my president
Woodward can go eat a twinkie

    • Iacobus

Wonder if you’d say that if it was Romney that was president and Woodward was doing the same thing.

The thing I find amazing is that there is coming a day when those who have stood by and so to speak, bowed at Obama’s feet, are going to get a rude awakening because I have no doubt he will throw them under the bus no matter how devoted they might have been to him or what they did for him – it will happen. I don’t know where Woodward stands, but kudos to him if he was telling the truth – there is litte of that in our media today. These followers and supporters of Obama are going to be asked by him to do things that they cannot or won’t do and he will have no more use for them. They just think they are his dear friends. Obama does not have a tender, compassionate bone in his body. It is apparent with how he is ignoring the very debt crisis we have in this country, it is apparent with his continuing to grow the government, and it is apparent in how he has no qualms about spending the tax payers money to go to the golf course, Hawaii for vacation, etc. If he wants all the rich to give up more of their income then it should start at the top with him, Congress, and any special interest groups that get far more than their fair share of government money. They now call Social Security an entitlement – really? What do you call Congress getting free healthcare, best kind you can have, a retirement fund after working one term in the House or Senate? That to me is entitlement, not Social Security – people have paid into that for years from working hard. If our entitled House and Senate did not receive a cushy retirement of their own voting in, Social Security may have been left along and there would be plenty of money there to pay those retiring. And the problem with his tax increases, he stated it would not hurt anyone making less than a certain amount of money, but that is simply not true. He tells people the economy is better – then why the threats of a sequester – it is just another bullying technique he uses to get what he wants at any expense because he said so. If he does not get his way he will just abuse his execuetive orders and override Congress to put in motion these laws that will kill our freedoms, liberties, and make us completely dependent upon him and government. The day is quickly coming when this will be more and more a reality. He can give an eloquent speech, but he is a sheep in wolves clothing. He promises all kinds of good things, but his actions and what he is asking Congress to do is not for the good of this country. Wake up America!

I am so pissed! The press is acting like the totality of the circumstances was only the email, NOT TRUE! The totality of the threat INCLUDED the 30 minute phone call where Gene Sperling ADMITTED to YELLING at Bob Woodward and the press completely disregards that FACT and doesn’t consider it a threat? REALLY???

Let’s say a man calls his ex-wife, yells for 30 minutes then sends her an email of appology and says that she’d regret what she said. That’s NOT part of a threat????? And what if he killed her the next day? Would the totality of the circumstances THEN be brought into a Court of Law or only the appology in the email?

The PRESS needs a hickory taken to it! Trust me, a good switching would do them a world of good!
