Harry unbrained: Reid gives ‘Django’ shout-out at Rosa Parks statue ceremony

Here’s to you, Quentin Taranti … er, um, Rosa Parks. A 9-foot-tall statue of the civil rights icon was unveiled this morning in the U.S. Capitol building and, naturally, Harry Reid showed up to make the dedication extra special. He’s got such a knack for that sort of thing!

Let’s go to the videotape:

Ah yes. Of course! How better to highlight the quiet, peaceful dignity of Rosa Parks than to work in a little praise for a shoot-em-up revenge film? Nicely done, Harry!

Yes. By all means, Harry, please proceed.

What was that about the complete and utter fusion of the Democratic Party and the entertainment industry?

Democrats wanted slavery and Republicans ended it. Make a movie about that fact.

Reid’s senile dementia becomes harder for the MFM to hide with each public appearance.

He’s become the crazy uncle that you can’t get into the basement.

          Reid, Ellison, Biden, Gore…
Seems the dems have a LOT of crazy uncles

    • E Quilibrate

Right, Reid unbrained implies that once he had one. Oh boy,
I’ve got a problem with that premise.

    • Canadian in USA

The problem is that too many people buy into the notion that “racism” and “inequality” still perpetuate to this day, and that somehow he’s leading the fight against it. My concern is that, if he’s using “Django Unchained” as a reference to “ending slavery”, how many other people will do so? And take up arms for it?

  • http://twitter.com/jimni27 Jimni27

How in the world do black liberals see racism around every corner unless it involves an actual ( not so thinly) veiled racist statement by a dem? Biden’s” in chains” speech, Gore’s “dunking the basketball” speech and now Reid’s “Unchained” one. I don’t have the guts to watch it- did he use black preacher inflection?

    • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

I watched the first 25 seconds of it (that’s all I could handle without wanting to throw up in my mouth) and no he didn’t pull a Clinton, Obama, Biden or Gore.

      • http://twitter.com/jimni27 Jimni27

lol, thanks. I probably shouldn’t have said the word racist because it’s thrown around way too much, I guess I meant pandering. This “we are just like you” thing that the dem leaders always pull. It’s degrading to blacks and mindboggling how blacks choose to ignore it.

        • http://www.FunDMental.com TheRealJackpineSavage

“Ahhhhmmmm no ways Taaarrrd…” Shrillary Clinton speaking at a black church.

Nah, dems don’t have a Pandering problem.
They’re Really Really good at pandering, No problem.

I forgot about that one, lol.

Me nor anyone in this Country alive today had anything to do with slavery.

When will Harry Reid start to pay CHILD SUPPORT for his Illegal Alien Children???

      This is a DISGRACE!

  • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

Newsflash Harry Reid: Django Unchained was filmed because Jamie Foxx and Quentin Tarantino knew they could make big bucks in this racist filled day and age. It had nothing to do with Rosa Parks or slavery.

And Kill Bill was about a girl with pre wedding jitters…..stupidity.

Not only that, but there certainly was someone who objected to the union who did speak and not hold his peace.

Guess Reid took one to many punches to the head in his non existent boxing career.

  • http://twitter.com/OMGelephants omgelephants

I want to know why he didn’t reference Kill Bill? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Remember when Rosa plucked Daryl Hannah’s eyeball out?

    • Brent Guthrie

He should have recalled when Rosa lost her leg in a zombie attack and replaced it with an M16 w/ an M203 grenade launcher. At least Quentin Tarantino had the decency to re-enact this event in his movie, Planet Terror.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

I was thinking about how Rosa scalped all those Nazis.

  • Love of Country

Wasn’t Rosa Parks the icon who finally forced filibustering Democrats to finally go along with the GOP’s resolution to end segregation?

And BTW – Al Sharpton always talks on MSNBC about the time they used to make us ride in the back of the bus. He tries his very best to imply that the “they” he referred to was “Republicans”. He uses that line every week to get black people mad at Republicans instead of the actual captors and perpetrators who reside on his own side of the aisle but I’m sure it’s all just ‘in the name of fairness (sarc) …. he’s a blatantly dishonest, racist, lying piece of garbage.

Segregation was a white Southern thing, not a national Democratic policy, or a Republican one for that matter. White Southern Democrats and Republicans (what few of them there were) supported segregation; Northern Democrats and Republicans opposed it. See, for instance, the voting on the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Few Southern Democrats and no Southern Republicans voted for it. Northern Democrats and Republicans overwhelmingly did. http://t.co/hNFqHH3b

      • Love of Country

        lol

The GOP was invented to stop slavery. The DNC invented the KKK, Jim Crow, Segregation and Premeditated Welfare Addiction.

JFK and LBJ filibustered Civil Rights ie Segregation.

LBJ said “If we (Dems) can pass Voter Rights, we’ll have those ni**ers voting for us for the next 200 years.”

Bull Connor and George Wallace were Democrats.

Republicans were Rosa Parks and MLK Jr’s best friend, we ended segregation and MLK Jr was a Republican.

Democrats have been nefariously controlling black people for 200 years …. end of story.

        • sqeptiq

There’s no evidence MLK Jr was a Republican. He was to the left of LBJ and described himself in private as a “democratic socialist.” He vigorously criticized Goldwater and Reagan. However, he liked the liberal Republican Nelson Rockefeller and thought he’d make a fine president. MLK Sr was a liberal Republican who switched his endorsement to JFK in 1960. Rosa Parks was likewise left-wing and attended the famously left-wing Highlander Folk School. George Wallace and Bull Connor were Southern Democrats and were disgraces, like the few Southern Republicans of the time, eg John Tower and Prentiss Walker.

It’s bizarre how you make the Voting Rights Act to be anti-black. Surely you don’t think people are better off not being able to vote?

And say what you will of LBJ: he promoted the Civil Rights Act and signed it into law. Goldwater voted against it and Reagan opposed it.

          • Love of Country

LBJ promoted Civil Rights (after he filibustered them). He did it only to trick the black community into being subservient to Democrats all over again. In other words, he still hated them but still wanted their votes.

Today, when black people try to leave the DNC “plantation”, Democrats from the street level all the way up to congress and the state run media eagerly commence to verbally “stripping the hide” (Deneen Borelli’s words) off those who dared to leave the DNC for a better life elsewhere devoid of the chronic hatred, racism, lies, hypocrisies, dependencies and distortions your Party is now so famous for. What has really changed in your Party? You currently “enjoy” control over black people (and working on Latinos) with diabolical and willful welfare addiction and non stop, daily misinformation and propaganda. Predictably, many of their communities are spiraling out of control as a result of the DNC’s gatekeepers’ entrenched efforts to keep them dependent on govt and voting straight ticket for life.

Even today, every black Republican can recount horror stories of how racist Democrats have singled them out for torment throughout the years …. careers and reputations impuned to the point of no return in too many instances …. many the victim of organized intimidation campaigns as well.

BTW – Why would MLK Jr have been a Democrat? They invented the KKK and he knew it. They passed Jim Crow and he knew it. They invented Segregation and he knew it. His friends had been victims of uber, uber racist Dems like George Wallace and Bull Connor and he knew it. He was treated like garbage by Dixiecrats and had been locked up in Connor’s Birmingham Jail as well and he knew it. Republicans ended Jim Crow and Segregation and he knew it. And when Bull Connor says stuff like “Negroes and whites will not segregate together as long as I am Commissioner.” …. you know MLK Jr knew what was going on in the DNC …. past, present and future.

So of course he was a Republican, never mind we freed the slaves …. besides, his daughter also said he was on Hannity and there is no reason not to believe that credible story.

            http://www.humanevents.com/2006/08/16/why-martin-luther-king-was-republican/

          • sqeptiq

You didn’t free any slaves. The Republican Party of the 1860s did (along with numerous Northern Democrats). The Republican Party largely ended its support for civil rights in 1876 when it made an agreement with Southern Democrats to end Reconstruction in return for them not objecting to the seating of Rutherford Hayes as president in the disputed election. In the 1860s, the Republicans were the liberal party of the Northeast, and I would’ve been a Republican then too, in the mold of Thaddeus Stevens.

It’s unknown what if any political party MLK Jr registered with as a voter. At any rate he was a lefty. Your yammering about Wallace is just a canard. He didn’t represent Northern Democrats, just racist Southern ones (and Southern Republicans were even more avid racists).

Numerous were LBJ’s shortcomings, but he was a better choice for black Americans than Goldwater, who voted against the Civil Rights Act and supported the right to have white-only hotels, restaurants and other businesses.

Don’t know why white conservatives so love to single out blacks when discussing public assistance. There are no racial criteria for welfare programs. People of all races can and do get welfare on an equal basis. Also, people on welfare have every right to find a job that pays decently and get off welfare.

I’ve also noticed how rough a lot of blacks are on black Republicans. It seems fair, however, given that white Republicans routinely slime blacks as criminals and welfare cheats. No one likes a turncoat. That’s not to say all black Republicans are turncoats who abet racism against blacks. Michael Steele, for example, criticizes racism even when it comes from Republicans and enjoys considerable respect among blacks as a result, and deservedly so. I respect him too although I disagree with a lot of his conservative notions.

          • Love of Country

“Don’t know why white conservatives so love to single out blacks when discussing public assistance.”

            ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Chris Matthews …. is that you?

Because we NEVER single out black people when talking about welfare but it’s the Dems who always think of black people when we do mention welfare and then project their racist motives onto us.

How many times has Matthews said “You know who they’re talking about when they say food stamps?”. In other words, we didn’t say it but he’s thinking about it.

Besides, if that’s what’s really going on then who are racist Democrats to balk about anyone saying it? See, that is part of your current racism …. calling people who tell the truth “racists” …. you act like you’re helping black folks by protecting their feelings and sense of dignity but you’re actually really hurting them on purpose to keep them content in their epic dysfunction and voting straight ticket for life come heII or high water.

Long story short, it almost sounds like you’re trying to defend 200 years of unabashed DNC racism and even trying to draw comparisons w/ the righteous GOP … there are no such comparisons!!!!!!!!

          • michael s

Yet it was fellow lifelong Republican j Edgar who wanted MLK destroyed? Called him the most dangerous negro in America same with a. Philip Randolph. Never real dangerous men like Sam Bowers Meyer lansky Robert chambliss etc etc etc. That’s the kind of love MLK got from fellow Republicans. I could go on. Democrats aren’t innocent either.

Just when you thought things could not be more a**nine, Reid delivers!

  • Stone Bryson

Isn’t this the same guy who once discussed the President’s “light skin” and thought he’d do well because he speaks “with no Negro dialect, unless he want(s) to have one.”

Reid practices his own brand of racism like most progressives practice… well, racism. Par for the course… a golf reference so even the President can understand, too.
