One year ago today Trayvon Martin was killed. His killer walked free for too long empowered by ALEC and the NRA.

Many are remembering Trayvon Martin today on the first anniversary of his shooting death, and a candlelight vigil is scheduled for tonight in New York City. American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten came down firmly on the side of Team Trayvon today, and somehow managed to implicate the NRA as well for “empowering” George Zimmerman.
Weingarten didn’t stop there; she also conflated the Trayvon Martin shooting with the mass shootings in Aurora, Newtown and Columbine in a call to address “gun safety and mental health.”
Trayvon Martin, Aurora, Sandy Hook, Columbine, and so many other tragedies. It's time to address gun safety and mental health. —

@rweingarten yea, because a self defense shooting equates to columbine. nice propaganda today Randi.—

And now, back to the teachers’ union’s regularly scheduled programming.
House Rs are choosing to layoff teachers & cut special ed & early childhood ed instead of eliminating tax breaks for corporate jet owners. —
