Corrected: Sen. Ted Cruz asks followers which of the 43 American presidents inspire them

https://twitter.com/tedcruz/status/303656218797412352

Correction: Twitchy, not Sen. Cruz, made the boo-boo. As our astute commenters have pointed out, Grover Cleveland served two nonconsecutive terms. Our apologies to Sen. Cruz.

Senator Ted Cruz might be one of the smartest people on Capitol Hill, but he made a bit of a boo-boo today by asking which of “our 43 American presidents” inspire his Twitter followers. Of course, there have been 44, counting President Obama — which our friends on the Left were giddy to point out.

It’s possible that Cruz meant to ask only about past presidents, or that it was simply a typo. Either way, he got some interesting responses from all 57 states.

Question– why has no one thought about the fact that Grover was elected twice, but not in consecutive stints (thus, counting twice on the list)? So while, yes, there have been 44 different presidential “eras”, there have only been 43 men who held the office. Ted Cruz is actually right…… again.

And all the liberal kool-aid drinkers, of course, didn’t learn this in public school. But now they believe there are 57 states since their Messiah told them.

There ARE only 43 Presidents. Grover Cleveland was both the 22nd and 24th office holder. But only 43 men have held the position

Here’s another funny one…. Guess which one of the following people was not born here in the United States: President Obama or Ted “Canada” Cruz ?

What’s the difference between An Abstraction and a paper mill? One only serves to belch foul-smelling toxic odors to choke off everyone’s air, and the other makes paper.

You don’t have to be born in the US to be a Senator, dillweed.

Bottom line: Despite being born in Canada, Cruz can be considered a natural-born U.S. citizen because his mother was also a U.S. citizen who lived in the United States long enough for him to qualify, according to constitutional experts.

        • Axelgreaser

Cousin Solyndra: “Baby, my a$$ is draggin.’ I’ve had to pull Moo’ out of every bar and snow drift in Ass’pin an’ push this damned rickety centuries old Dolly Madison table she’s had wheels put on an’ drags along from the White House fa’ me ta’ foll’ah her ’round wiff should she need a ‘pick me up.’ We been through every ski shop in town, an’ chile, he’s redistributin’ the wealth alright. Sheeyit! Know whut? (looks around for eavesdroppers) Bo’s pee’d ‘Help!’ in the snow from one end of Ass’pin ta’ tha’ oth’ah, they’s cigarette burns all ov’ah the ‘Pit Group’ in our ‘Sweet’ from Cousin Benzadrina (my twin, 1 cocktail hour older than me) droppin’ ha’ ashes while nailin’ that ‘Shirelles’ wig in’ta Moo’s head. Know what else? They gonna throw us trash outta he’ah, cuz they’s BBQ sauce all in the carpet. I woke up wiff a hot wing stuck in my hair this mornin’ Mmm, hmmmm. If I’m lyin’, I’m dyin’. But I got the heel of a bottle here on the old cart. Have a va’kah Martini wiff me while Moo’ tries on another ski outfit? I got the fave of the White House, ‘Millionaires Va’kah, on the taxpay’ah darlin’, right on down the line. I’ll stir it fa’ ya’ sug’ah, but I’m too tired ta’ shake it and I’m about ta’ git sober. Olive or onion?” (whispering) “Can y’all put wheels on a 200 year old antique worth $1.5 million bucks? Cause that sounds like somethin’ an ignorant hayseed would do, you know?”

FRANKLY, I STOPPED COUNTING PRESIDENTS AT #43 TOO. Because what followed, ‘follows’ rather (we still have him unless it’s a nightmare), is a Community Organizer & ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’ runner-up to Hillary Clinton’s ‘One Million Mile’ achievement in Government at $180.000.00 per flight Hour (based on AF1). Cruz probably made no mistake! The MSM who are already in a snit because Cruz is asking Hagel hard questions will crucify him for the remark/error if they ever get their panties out of the twist Obama created when he barred them from craning their necks to get a glimpse of him take an expensive (to the taxpayer) golf lesson from a fellow 1%’er, sex addict and ‘Florida Fleebagger’ to avoid Obama’s punitive taxation. Wonder if Obama lectured him with the old Marxist saw: ‘Fair Share!’

    • Kenny Hitt

There’s no “probably”. The office of President has only been held by 43 individuals. That’s a fact.

i missed washington, and lincoln, but not reagan. he was the first president i got to vote for, and he even visited my old high school while campaigning in 84. and i did meet bush 41 when he was vp, he is a great american, but not so much as president.

Truman inspires me. He faced so many trials in his presidency. So proud he recognized Israel as a secular state. I so enjoyed visiting his presidential museum!
