Priority fail: USPS reportedly spending $2.2 million on San Francisco conference

It’s good to know the debt-ridden United States Postal Service is serious about saving money. To that end, it will reportedly be spending more than $2 million to send management to San Francisco for a conference. We can’t wait to hear about all the great ideas they come up with.

Well, we have it on good authority that golf’s a excellent way to unwind and ready the brain for serious problem solving.

The USPS has done this sort of thing before:

So we’ve got nothing to be concerned about, right?

Hey, we can’t expect these execs to save the USPS on an empty stomach!

Could you imagine if the president went golfing like that while the economy was tanking?

I wish I had 2.2 million dollars to waste.

    Anyone else?

That’s not just $2.2 million, that is $2.2 million of OTHER people’s money. If I could spend other people’s money, I would not care what I did with it either!

These people haven’t heard of GOTOMEETING.COM”? They could save a boat load of air fare, hotels, green fees and food tasting (not to mention clowns and magicians) and accomplish the same revenue generating brain storming. Am I right?

How would they get their round of 18 holes in? What a joke!

Unbelievable. Whoever is in charge of that decision should receive their pink slip…preferably delivered by Fed Ex.

Heh. No kidding, they would certainly get there!

The worst part of this is that all of these managers are “on the clock”. When carriers and clerks have to go to their conventions they have to take their vacation time for it. When management goes they’re getting paid for not working. The $2.2 million doesn’t even count the lost wages paid to these managers for the entire time they’re there.

“Postal Service say every dollar it spent at Orlando resort conference in 2012 yielded $73,000 in new revenue”
Let’s do the math, shall we?
    $73K * $2.5MM = $182.5 Billion – the original $2.5MM = $182.4975 Billion in new revenue…..
So, how are they going under now?
