Still waiting for your NRA membership kit? You’re not alone.

Thanks to the anti-gun zealotry of Second Amendment-stomping politicians and squawking heads like Musket Morgan, the NRA has experienced a flood of new membership requests. New members are already receiving emails from the organization, but this month, many are wondering why they haven’t received anything in the mail.

It takes about four weeks for membership materials to arrive, according to the NRA.

But the wait has been even longer for some.

While the NRA appears to be struggling to keep up with the demand, membership cards are eventually making their way into the hands of Second Amendment supporters.

Got my NRA membership packet in :o)

An unanticipated burst of 100,000 new members is likely slowing things down. By contrast, the IRS has announced that tax refunds will be delayed by about a month. Sadly, it is not because of all the new taxpayers…

I cried at your last sentence.

My friends at work say it means “friend”
          Same as “pendejo”, I think.
          Right? 😉

    Chris @cdare101

I joined the #NRA a month ago have heard nothing from them or received nothing. I guess i will try to get my money back. Anyone else?

    1:05 AM – 10 Feb 13

These are the kind of fair-weather members the NRA does NOT need right now.

    • Kingofthehill

no kidding. People, you Joined to have your voice count, let them catch up! I know people in the organization and they are beyond swamped. The NRA is not going to rip you off or leave you with nothing, they are on hell of a stand up organization.

  • Worship Dancer

WOOHOO JUST GOT MINE IN THE MAIL!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Stephanie-Warren/100001648091118 Stephanie Warren

    gee, I wonder why… >_>

  • Krazy Kent

I joined right before Christmas…..I got my card in about 6 weeks. It is taking longer, and that’s a good thing-it means people are paying attention. And as was posted above, if you can’t be patient, then you’re not serious and the NRA doesn’t need you.

  • Maxx

Looks like NRA cards are getting as scarce as ammo. I’m damn near paying a buck a bullet right now for the quality rounds.

Consider this my nomination for Barack Obama as Gun Salesman of the Year.

  • Kingofthehill

As of 3 weeks ago the NRA stated on their website that they have grown 600,000 new members since December. Now all you NEW members (and existing) need to get a friend or family member to sign up. It is crucial to keep our rights.

IMPORTANT!!! People the NRA gives you FREE insurance worth $7,500 on your guns and also for yourself if something were to happen. You need to activate it yourself though, it doesn’t come on instantly when you join. Go to http://www.nraendorsedinsurance.com/ to activate. Honestly takes less than 3 minutes and in case of a fire or stolen you can either replace your collection or at least some of it depending on how much you own. No pictures/Serial numbers required.

Please don’t laugh at me for asking this…but can I be an NRA member and not have a gun (yet?).

      • JeannieJ

Absolutely! They’re not a left-leaning “don’t eat that, don’t drink that, don’t wear that, don’t say that” type of organization! Join up and let me be the first to welcome you!

        • $36544368

Well, I know how to shoot and understand and follow all the safety measures, etc. (my dad taught me), but I don’t own a gun right now, so I wasn’t sure. Thanks! I’ll be looking into it this weekend.

My Mom is a NRA member and she doesn’t own any firearms either.

          • $36544368

I had no idea it was so inexpensive…in fact, I just talked to my husband and he’s going to join as well. I thought that maybe he might not be totally happy about my decision, but he was all for it. He said it’s important to support the NRA even if we don’t have guns in the house right now…(have a 25-year-old autistic son who is incredibly clever sometimes – not taking any chances until I can think it through to be 100% safe with him being home).

      • Kingofthehill

        Of course.
IMO if you value the right to self protection (with or without a gun) and are proud of being an American based on its founding then i don’t see why someone would be against the NRA.

In fact, the NRA has a very interesting history .

“Dismayed by the lack of marksmanship
shown by their troops, Union veterans Col. William C. Church and Gen.
George Wingate formed the National Rifle Association in 1871. The
primary goal of the association would be to “promote and encourage rifle
        shooting on a scientific basis,”

Without the NRA and teaching shooting skills to our troops, who knows what could of happened back then.

One lives in leftwingistan where gun shops are running out of guns due to the high demand, and the remaining guns are so expensive they can’t afford them.

*shakes bars* Let me out of Illinoise! (misspelling intentional)

My kingdom for a job offer in Texas and a clean apartment there!

Maybe it’s because I had a rough day and am super tired, but I’m not sure which of my posts your reply was to…and I’m not sure I get it (sorry!). But on a good note, I am on my way to becoming a card-carrying member of the NRA!

          • BeeKaaay

It was a reply to why someone would not have a gun and be a NRA member. (I like the NRA and plan on joining)

          • $36544368

Ah, got it. Your replies are always clever. Thanks for helping my tired brain with processing.

I joined the NRA in December, and got my card about a week ago.

  • linnicy

Hang in there, you’ll get it. Stickers lookin’ mighty fine on the cars.

  • CatHerder

I joined back in ’75, quit when they started only reviewing guns that would cost me a year’s wages, rejoined around the time of Waco and have been with them ever since. If you’re not a celebrity, joining a group of like-minded people is about the only way to speak out, and we really do need to now.

  • crankycatholic

The NRA loves Harry Reid. ’nuff said.

  • Rusty Shackleford

My roomate, his girlfriend and I all joined for the first time last week at the Dulles Gun Show. Got our hats but nothing in the mail yet.
