Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. charged with illegally spending campaign funds; wife charged with tax crime

Jackson allegedly spent $750,000 in campaign funds on personal expenses, including a $43,000 Rolex watch. Whoops.

It’s always a family affair in the Jackson household, though. Jackson’s wife Sandi has also been charged — with a tax crime.

Good times!

Errors in judgment … ya think?

So, what happens now?

For those who are curious as to Jackson’s other purchases:

Well, those items weren’t gonna purchase themselves!

Another Democratic politician goes to the slammer. It’s a dog-bites-man story. Still…, it has a heart warming aspect.

Jesse Jr.: “Hey dad, is it Ok if I use this money to buy, like, jewelry and cars?”
Jesse Sr.:”Sure son…, I used to do it all of the time ‘course, I had PUSH and Rainbow money to fall back on.”

Just a couple of years ago they were on a home renovation show. Maybe the renovators can spiff up their new prison cell.

  • George Washington Mclintock

He’ll probably spend less time in jail than a 12 year old caught throwing rocks through the window of a abandoned building.

  • Tangchung

JJJ “dropped a dime” on his wife Sandi.
(for those under 50; Dropped a dime= turned state witness against her for lesser charges, turned her in, took a dime dropped in phone and called the police etc)

    • TugboatPhil

Stop, Stop, Stop! You’re now going to have to explain pay phones, rotary dials and possibly electricity to low info voters.

      • Tangchung

        lmao, good point!

  • TugboatPhil

So does this mean JJ Jr will be nominated for Treasury Secretary now?

  • CarpeNoctem

I wonder if he bought some of that Michael Jackson stuff that ended up being fake.

    • tredglx

Most of Michael was fake, so it only follows that the MJ stuff would be as well.

  • KansasGirl

He upset someone in the DemocRat party.

    • Tangchung

Remember his dad threatened to cut off Obama balls, cause he felt Obama dissed him…or something

      • KansasGirl

Good catch. I had forgotten that particular comment.

  • Jack Deth

Four and a half years plus in stir pondering the idea of being some thug’s “wife”?

Jesse Jr. will turn old, gray and useless overnight. Can’t work up the give a s*it to feel sorry for him. Wonder how long it will be before Dad taps into Junior’s off shore accounts?

  • offset81

Once a dem turns on another it could get ugly quick. Time for some popcorn.

can’t we talk about the real crimes here? I want to know when Senator Rubio knew he was thirsty and who he told about? did he make any phone calls? who sold him the water bottle? stop talking about something so insignificant as politicians misusing funds. it detracts from the real issues!

Sentencing is based, in large measure, upon the amount involved,
and the degree to which there has been a breach of trust.
Stealing campaign funds also brings additional deterrent sentencing to the convicted.
The brotha and his bride are neck deep in guano…another Illinois “success” story.
