Patty Murray (D-Wash.) sent Rep. John Boehner some “romantic” Twitter poetry, but the House Speaker might be playing hard to get. Maybe he responded with a discreet direct message, but for public consumption, the day was all about the economy, not the Violence Against Women Act.

So like a man. For what it’s worth, the Republican-led House did pass a five-year extension of the Violence Against Women Act back in May 2012, in spite of a veto threat by the White House.
