Barack Obama: ‘I’m not emperor of the United States’

During a Google+ Hangout this afternoon, responding to a question about immigration, President Obama made a stunning confession:

And to trample on the Constitution, evidently. Sounds like something an emperor might do.

Very wistfully.

Could’ve fooled all of us.

No, he thinks he’s the dictator.

A Facebook friend posted this status: “In case some of you haven’t seen my post in the real world – I’m locked down in my house because Obama is spending hundreds of thousands of our tax dollars for a photo op at the nursery school 3 doors down from me. It’s a frickin’ circus out there. 400 police officers within a mile of my house, and 40 liberals shivering out by the street waiting to see him. Every driveway that doesn’t have a police car in it has freeloader parked in it. The streets are closed now, and we can’t leave, but they won’t tell us when in the next 4 hours The One will grace us with his presence.”

That whole scenario sounds more like the trappings of a Totalitarian State than a Democratic Republic.

All Hail Caesar! Personally, I hear that if you slow roast a liberal, pigs will actually eat them.

  • stonewashing

“I’m not the Emperor of the United States Yet.” Is what he wanted to say.

    • WingedBishop

When he said “not”, he only meant the “of the United States” part. His goal is
to be the last POTUS and first emperor of whatever society comes next.

  • thetawake

It’s not the first time I’ve read about him saying something like this, he passed a similar comment on radio recently, I think.

However, I won’t even consider him to be president until he does something worthy of the position.

    • rinodino

Yet their he is –president of the USA, still burns doesn’t it?

      • http://twitter.com/Gator_Country Stephen K

And yet here we are – able to mock and ridicule him as much as we want, at least for now.

        Still burns, doesn’t it?

        • rinodino

That’s about all haters can do

        • rinodino

Math huh? What happen to righty math during the election? Wasn’t worth much was it?

          • J. Cox

Way to avoid the facts…but please do go on about your Great Failure and Chief and tell the rest of us how great things are.

Oh! For Christ’s sake….”their” versus “there” try to get it straight.

“Their” is a possessive pronoun. “There” refers to a place. Here is how you use there:

Look over there! It’s rinodino, a low information voter.

        Burns, doesn’t it?

        • rinodino

Grammar police alert told you I was Edumacted under bush… Hurts doesn’t it?

          • J. Cox

You mean you were educated through the government….explains a-lot about your complete lack of knowledge on so many topics.

No, just proves you are another low information liberal progressive puke most qualified for humping coconuts and eating free treats.

If you don’t try harder, your handlers will not be happy, and your treats will be withheld.

Doesn’t burn me in the least – I have confirmation exactly how stupid the American people have become. However, we’ll all be burning eventually when our economic malfeasance comes home. I bet POTUS Nero will be living large on the beach in Hawaii by then though.

No, just the Nigerian — I mean, Kenyan — Prince.

    • Paladin

So a Communist, a Muslim, and an African walk into a bar. The bartender asks, “What can I get for you Mister President?”

      • independentjones

        Heh. Thanks!

I love “One Big-Ass Mistake, America” jokes!

  • Lamontyoubigdummy

    No..you’re not “Emperor”.

But you sure are a shirty President.

  • V the K

“Because if I were really Emperor, I could disregard the Senate and simply issue edicts to enforce my every whim. I could also raid the public treasury and distribute its wealth to my cronies. And the press would be my willing sycophants and throw laurels and flower petals wherever I walked.”

  • Lamontyoubigdummy

    Not Emperor, rather Caligula’s Horse.

  • http://twitter.com/Gator_Country Stephen K

His loyal sycophants in the media and on the left in general obviously missed the memo.

  • detroit19

    Glad he still realizes that.

  • CatHerder

No corona aurea until the quality of the bread and circuses improves. Also, the wage slaves are getting uppity again, we expect a much more proactive approach to reminding them of their place. THEN we’ll consider letting you squash those nasty Senators.

    He’s more like a dick-tater for life.

Funny, nobody but him has been making that mistake.

“I’m the president of the United States, not the emperor of the United States.”

And not a very good one.

He said “”This is something I’ve struggled with throughout my presidency. The problem is that I’m the president of the United States, I’m
not the emperor of the United States. My job is to execute laws that are
    passed.”

“The problem is” part speaks alot about his intentions.

So, you’re letting a Twitter feed pass for discussion here?

That’s dangerous. By doing so you misrepresented President Obama — really, you have to edit his quotes to make him say things you disagree with? — and in that process you hide what he really said.

You believe he SHOULD have the power to override Congress and stop deporting undocumented aliens?

Obama was explaining why he doesn’t do that, and you say he’s wrong. What’s a rational person to understand?
