Prof. Marc Lamont Hill: Dorner saga is ‘like watching ‘Django Unchained’ in real life. It’s kind of exciting!’

Twitchy has extensively documented the disgusting moral cockroaches celebrating alleged murderer Chris Dorner. But something was missing from #TeamDorner: credibility. Columbia University Professor Marc Lamont Hill is up to filling that void. Hill told a CNN panel today that watching the Chris Dorner saga unfold has been “like watching ‘Django Unchained’ in real life. It’s kind of exciting!”

Huh? What, pray tell, is exciting about a cold-blooded killer senselessly taking lives? Hill may fancy himself an academic, but he desperately needs to be taken to school. Townhall columnist and author Katie Pavlich is leading the charge:

In the course of defending himself against Pavlich, Hill suggests that Dorner’s actions provoked a helpful conversation on “police terrorism.”

He includes an obligatory denunciation of Dorner’s alleged murders, but uses the term “terrorism” only when discussing the police.

At the same time, he explicitly rejects the notion that Dorner is a terrorist:

Pavlich boils it down:

Hill has a history of propping up murderers:

Now he’s pathetically attempting to walk back his outrageous remarks:

You want a public conversation, Dr. Hill? Those with morals are more than willing to give you one:

Heaven help us.

That’s what happens when you start every thought-process through the prism of race. The obsession clouds judgement and even “off-the-cuff” commentary that can be mitigated by a simple “mea culpa” is negated by the continued process of what Albert Einstein would call “insanity”.

The term ad hominem comes to mind after reading your comment. How odd that you reserve no condemnation for the the very real statement of Clinton and choose to attack StingRay, going so far as to imagine his vocation. Since, ideally, we should endeavor to treat each other as equals, would you be so magnanimous if a white or asian man referenced a movie in which blacks were the target of a vendetta?

You are aware this video is specifically edited to demonize Prof Hill. If you saw the 4:11 video you’d see similar hero/movie analogy fro the white guy named Jack Moore. Of course Ms Pavich and most of these posters are only interested in demonizing Hill. Ms pavich and most of these posters arent interested in demonizing Moore, enaging in a twitter war with Moore.. • Raye09

There are PhD’s in blackness, it is a PhD in “African American Studies and Black Studies” yes, this is an actual degree offered at colleges. Basically you study blackness and how the racist system opposes blackness(they also have one for Native American Studies, Asian Studies, and Latino Studies and basically anyone that is not white). Rutgers womens studies department(as if this degree was not already a joke) even offers a class on “Beyonce Studies” where you study Beyonce and her contributions to society.
I am not shitting you, these are real degrees and classes. Crap degrees like this along with “Classic Studies” and “Womens Studies” are part of the reason why college is quickly becomming an expensive and unfunny joke.

People like “Professor” Marc Larmont Hill is one of the reasons why I did not go to a big university after highschool(I started later at 20, took two years off after HS). I can only sit through so much psuedo intellectual bullshit before I can’t take it anymore. Idiots like this professor are the reasons I am seeking out a more conservative or Christian college along those lines, and I am not even a Christian. If I am going to pay an upwards of 15k a year I want to actually learn, not hear the professor bitch and moan about how “the man did them wrong”, or how sexist racist and terrible america is.
Are there bad cops and racist cops? Yes, but that is a small fraction, ALL the cops I know want to help people. It doesn’t excuse terrorist like Dorner, nor does it warrant support or “understanding” of a domestic terrorist.
In an ending statement I suggest that if you believe america is such a racist hellhole then get on a plane or boat and move. Obviously it is not that terrible if you are still here.

Let me get this straight… By this logic, any murdering deviant is simply “raising awareness”? No wonder the Left loves “Occupy”. Deviants are simply using their form of The Constitution to “peaceably gather”, never mind the criminality, hypocrisy, violations of others’ rights et al.

As long as you can ignore the nightmarish violations, embellish the truth, (lie), flout hyperbole and pick-and-choose talking points?

    …It’s all good.

  • michael s

I notice your playing a selectively edited deceptive video. On the 4:11 video Jack Moore of Buzzfeed says ” The narrative of Christopher Dorner doesn’t and i mean it in some ways resembles a Denzel Washington movie.Where someone is wrong and he stands up for himself and it goes down in a blaze of glory. It’s hard for it not to turn into a movie.” Now Katie Pavlich and this website as well as others aren’t going after Jack Moore . Going after Jack Moore and Marc Lamont Hill would be consistent. However it would go against the obvious agenda. Therefore a Marc Lamont Hill/Christopher Dorner connection must be made, not a Jack Moore/ Christopher Dorner connection.

    • nickshaw

I didn’t check the video so, I ‘ll assume you quote it correctly, “Where someone is wrong and he stands up for himself…”

What Dorner has done is retard the public conversation on police “terrorism.” The conversation now consists of “Kill the pigs!” & “The guy had no point at all.” Great conversation, eh? Now we’re gettin’ somewhere, right?
It does for that conversation just what the murder of an abortion doctor does for the public conversation about abortion.

  • Walter Warren

So, Dr. Hill – how exciting was it for you to watch Reginald Denny beat down at Florence and Normandie in 92 ? I’m only asking because most normal people that I know of were revulsed when that happened, and nobody ever referred to the “L.A. Four” as a team of superheroes – not even the people of South Centra. Of course, Reggie was just a truck driver who stopped to see if he could help – and not one of those ” terrorist” police officers – I guess that makes all the difference.

Dr. Hill – you are always looking at things through the prism of race, and quick to point out the ” racial element ” in most situations, even when it is unwarranted. Might I respectfully suggest to you, sir, that you look within yourself to find this elusive element of racism for which you are constantly searching.

He supported Lovelle Mixon (another black guy) in 2009 after Lovelle Mixon raped a 12 year old girl while out on parole, then raped 2 other women. In the end Lovelle Mixon murdered 4 cops, 3 white and 1 Hispanic, 2 of the officers were killed execution-style, the other 2 were killed trying to capture him. Marc Lamont Hill is just another racist suit that Fox should throw in the round file. I can’t stand listening to this pathetic loser. Yeah, it doesn’t take much to know what the response from every news outlet in the country, perhaps the world, would be!

    • michael s

On the 4:11 video a white guy does equate what Chris Dorner did with hero/movie analogy. When someone is wronged and he stands up for himself and goes out in a blaze of glory were Jack Moore (the white Guy’s ) words. I’m waiting for you and Katie to go on your anti Jack Moore crusade.

      • nickshaw

I’ll give you that. Jack Moore is a douche too.

But, it’s not exactly as I described in my comment.

Both he and Hill get away with it because the “hero” in their “movie” is black.

They naturally assume Dorner has been “wronged” and that he is “standing up for himself”.

This point of view is never afforded a white man who goes on an insane killing spree. He is immediately declared a member of the TEA Party, listens to right wing radio or is a Beck fan, among other things.

Perhaps, quite a bit later, they back down on this and note that he’s a raving lunatic (always leaving the political affiliation door just a crack open!)

Liberals still talk about Palin and her target map in regard to the Giffords shooting!

Where is all the political connection in Dorner’s story? He talked about it enough in his “manifesto”!

        Yeah, crickets.
Instead we get “exciting” and comparisons to a movie about a black man killing white men where the star actually says he enjoyed being able to kill white people!

Prof. Hill: “Dorner, to many, is regarded as a hero because they can feel his pain. They don’t condone his behavior. But they DO understand.”
    — This is right out of (and I do mean RIGHT OUT OF) what Chris Rock, in one of his stand-up specials, said in regards to what OJ Simpson allegedly did to his ex-wife. Quote: “Now I’m not saying he shoulda killed her, but I understand.”

I am weighing at the neutral position on this discussion. What I would like the outraged side to consider: soon the cops may be at your door for owning a firearm, are you going to give it up without question? Or are you going to go down fighting for what has been promised to us? I do not know if Dorner’s trail was fair or not. My gut feeling and the number of convicted murders that new tests have proven innocent, coupled with the overwhelming insanity of the Supreme Court cast serious doubt about the entire judicial system. The police are not required to be honest or fair. In fact they choose which laws to ignore or enforce. If it is below their radar for importance, they “write a report”. BFD If you drive 10 over the speed limit you get a fine. Should you have property loss of several hundred dollars, that is unimportant. Wow! justice in action. Law enforcement and the court system are on THEIR side not ours. Ruby Ridge, Waco, the list, should you look for it is extensive.
