Piers Morgan finds pope’s reason for resigning ‘a bit lame,’ tackles Downton Abbey marathon

Wait, we thought CNN’s Piers Morgan was one of the original “pope truthers,” refusing to buy Pope Benedict XVI’s explanation that he was retiring due to “lack of strength of mind and body.” Does Morgan’s latest tweet mean that he now believes the pope is telling the truth?

Morgan pushes his finely honed skills as an investigative journalist to the limit.

Speaking of battling adversity and inspiring millions in the process…

.@/piersmorgan really is a COLOSSAL piece of sh!t.

While your statement is very true, I have it on good authority that actual feces is ashamed to be compared with him.

      • http://twitter.com/die_mich_zwei Spatial Awareness

        Tug, you’re too funny!!! XD

      • Worship Dancer

i heard that feces is HIGHLY offended at being compared with morgan.

    • BlueGood

IF MR. Moron ever reaches the Pope’s age he’d be comatose wearing a diaper on his a$$ & his mouth….

    • Michelle

The major difference being, sh!t can be flushed down the toilet, never to be seen or thought of again. Unfortunately, we can not do the same with Piersy.

    • Samh09

I consider @piersmorgan to be in the same category as a gun or a car. He’s a tool.

      • Jim Rasmussen

Except guns and cars are USEFUL tools.

Pope John Paul II died at age 84, so why is Piersy so convinced he may not have done the same thing (retire) when he hit a certain age? And what exactly is a “cancer scare” survivor?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002109532283 Jillane Kent

Cancer scare must be a diagnosis only known to pompous, British liberals…

    • Worship Dancer

a cancer scare is a doc telling you he sees something on an x-ray and they need to biopsy because it’s possible it’s cancerous. so the doc is telling you that you probably have cancer before there are any definitive reasons to tell you that.

      • Michelle

Oh, sorry my question was confusing for you. I know what a “cancer scare” is, I was asking what a “cancer scare” survivor is – Piers called Pope John Paul II a cancer scare survivor. Thinking you might have cancer before you get it confirmed you do not have cancer is an unfortunate experience to be sure, but it doesn’t make you a “survivor” of anything considering your life was never…at risk. Last year I had a tumor, Dr. skipped the biopsy since whether or not it was cancer, it had to come out and he decided to wait to do pathology on it once removed. The labs tests for cancer took a week after my surgery, so I spent a week dealing with “cancer scare”. Fortunately tumor was benign. That doesn’t make me a “survivor” of anything, it makes me a person who simply had a benign tumor removed. On another note, I have had cancer (another area of my body) and it was removed, I had no radiation, no chemo and my life wasn’t at risk since it was discovered and removed swiftly – even being through that, I do not have the nerve or gall to call myself a “cancer survivor” since I didn’t fight for my life. Get it now? Piers using the term “cancer scare” survivor is nothing but pure drama and totally ridiculous. The words cancer and survivor in the same sentence are very serious, and should be used only for people who actually had cancer, fought for their lives with surgery, radiation, chemo and every treatment at their disposable, thinking they would die, but won the battle to live. They are the survivors.

You have a point. Carnival barkers are actually slightly entertaining.

    “… a bit lame.”

Sort of like you, your show and your opinions, Piersy?

Piers Morgan is Catholic? Stop the Presses!
Think I know why the Pope resigned.

I find the reason for Piers to stay on as a “reporter” very lame!

Pope John Paul II was 58 years old when his papacy began & was 84 years old when he died. Pope Benedict was 77 when his papacy began and is 85 years old now. Piers Morgan is a total idiot.

    • Chrissy the Hyphenated

Catholic bishops are supposed to retire at 75. When he asked JPII to allow him to cut back and just work part time in the library, JPII said no. I heard when he was sitting in the conclave, he begged God to pass him by and let him just enjoy a few years of doing a little bit of nothing. Instead, he got stuck being Pope. I honor him and his service to the Church and to the world. Piers Morgan … meh. My opinion of him isn’t lady-like, so I will refrain from expressing it.

  • http://twitter.com/AKB111084 A Kris Bergman

They already hate him in the UK. LOL.

  • erika348

Why do people keep giving this British turd any attention?

  • HARP2

Since his doctor advised him not to fly anymore it seems logical that he would step down. Too hard for you to understand Morgan ?

  • Kingofthehill

    Geesh… he really is a goober…

People saying to see how he feels when he is 85.. I usually don’t do this but I really hope he isn’t around that long. He really has nothing important to say and is really a pathetic excuse for a human being.

  • arttie

Since Piers is in London, can’t his US visa be recinded?

  • grais

Piers can have an opinion; and the pope can care not.

  • grais

The pope looked fine to Piers. Is Piers missing something? Yeah, a medical degree.

    And a conscience.

    • Worship Dancer

      and a brain.

    • Chrissy the Hyphenated

A neighbor said that to me once about my dying father. Said neighbor based his opinion on having seen my father out in the yard one day in the weeks before he passed. Yes, I said. Pop had had an extraordinarily good day. He’d felt so good, in fact, that he got dressed and stepped outdoors for a little sun. That was probably his last really good day before he passed. But heck, if somebody can look good for a virtual stranger for five or ten minutes, he must be well enough to be a full-time Pope! Or something.

  • Agent_Zeero

Well, the one thing I’ve ever agreed with him…Maggie Smith

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002109532283 Jillane Kent

One wonders if he feels his own (forced) resignation was more lame http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/3716151.stm

  • http://alert-up-usa.com/ AlertUpUSA

It is a strategy long contemplated by Benedict XVI. His living as Pope Emeritus only, may be as powerful in the new selection of a Pope – ensuring that the Papal direction into this next generation will represent conservative values…. He may be old and ill, but he is no dummy.

  • http://alert-up-usa.com/ AlertUpUSA

If the Mental Midget Morgan would look deeper than his make-up mirror, it might occur to him that his comments only achieve vapid lameness rather than any ‘smart’, attention getting, progressive suck up which he is still mimicking badly.

There is a God in Heaven.
Finally, an issue more important for Piers Morgan to sink his teeth into. Gun control. Here today, gone tomorrow.

  • Maxx

I sent a thank you letter to the Pope. As long as Piers is talking about him, he’s not whining about those scary black rifles.

  • TocksNedlog

Musket: “Actually, I can have an opinion on the Pope – I’m a Catholic and he’s my Holy Father.”
    — Chris Rock begs to differ.

  • beebop1952

Morgan could not possibly understand why anyone would do a good job with pride. An alien concept.

  • http://twitter.com/1RandiStarr Randi Starr

Morgan doesn’t deal well when he is reminded he truly doesn’t matter.

Hey Piers…I look ‘absolutely fine’ and I have 2 chronic illnesses that I’ll have the rest of my life. I take more meds each day than you have viewers. As I like to tell those who are ignorant, “my chronic illness is more real than your imaginary medical expertise”. Heavens, the Pope has a pacemaker, has difficulty walking, and is 85 years old! I’d expect the same from my Protestant pastor.

    • Chrissy the Hyphenated

ds, I have had one of those “but you look fine” invisible chronic illnesses for decades. IKWYM. And I LOVE your reply! LOL
