Breathless media delight in circulating quotes, paintings from hacked Bush email accounts

A criminal investigation has been launched after a hacker, who goes by the name “Guccifer,” breached email accounts belonging to friends and family of former presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush.

The Smoking Gun published the hacked emails and photos, as well as paintings reportedly done by Bush 43.

The media and the Left (sorry, redundant) just can’t get enough of this invasion of privacy, natch.

The real news isn’t the criminal breach of email accounts, but the content of those private emails.

Ethics, schmethics, right lapdog media?

BuzzFeed snickered, “Revealing pics show off the self-portraits of amateur painter and avid bather George W. Bush.”

But that won’t stop you from sharing the juiciest tidbits, will it?

Politico’s Kenneth Vogel and Jennifer Epstein got in on the action too:

And they weren’t the only ones:’s John Nolte is skewering the media on Twitter this morning.

Editor’s note: Since the media ensured that these private emails have already been circulated far and wide, Twitchy opted to include many media tweets that include links to the hacked emails in this post.

Why is it only Republicans and conservatives e-mail accounts get “hacked” or are forced to be “released” and the MSM drools over them? The contents appear quite dull to me and not worth all the liberals’ efforts. If they want real “DIRT” and scandal, hack some progressives!

    • seek456

Excellent observation. I find it particularly odd that nobody has ever “released” the video of Obama’s speech in California that fateful night. Ahh well, maybe someday. Obama/Khalidi tape

    • QWYS (Hydralisk of the Swarm)

Its relatively simple — there are two types of hackers, black hats and white hats. White hats are for the most part, security experts that harden systems to keep the black hats out. Demographically speaking, white hats tend towards libertarian/conservative natures (law abiding, etc). Black hats tend toward the left.
Since the left has a pathological blindness to their own failings, and an equally pathological need to compensate for those failings at the expense of others, go after conservatives on the hope of finding something that can be used to humiliate the victims.

“Why is it only Republicans and conservatives e-mail accounts get “hacked” or are forced to be “released” and the MSM drools over them?”
Because conservatives aren’t immoral, privacy invading filth. It requires the voyeuristic degeneracy that’s exclusive to left wing depravity in order to stalk others. That and the fact that Eric Holder’s inJustice Department refuses to investigate or prosecute cases against left wing perpetrators.

Bush Senior was advised to change his password to a new stronger one but he replied:

Rant, give this man a cigar…a used one.

    • Jillane Kent

How cute. You’re making jokes at the expense of an ailing octogenarian who had his privacy violated.

      • Bob Smooper

        Ageist comment.

        • Jillane Kent

Pointing out that someone’s age is deemed politically incorrect, Mark?

          • Penny Robinson Fan Club

I bet words like “octogenarian” are now being considered as insulting as “mulatto” or “octaroon.” Though for the life of me I can’t understand what’s wrong with either of those descriptors either.

Bush Junior actually set his password as APPLE but he was so stupid he miss-spelt it APPEL and this actually stopped his being hacked!

    • Aaron

Mark Cooper tried to make a joke insulting Bush’s intelligence, but he was so stupid he misspelled “misspelled” as “miss-spelt”.

    • TruDat

That was really, really clever. I bet you’re a left-wing loon.

    • 1CatEye

While trashing someone else’s spelling, check your own. You don’t want to embarrass yourself.

    • Jillane Kent

You do realize appel is a verb that can be found in the dictionary, don’t you? Furthermore, how did you figure that this imaginary misspelling “actually stopped his being hacked”?

      • Penny Robinson Fan Club

Please, ignore the halfwits, it only encourages them.

    • SineWaveII

You are guilty of being stupid on the internet (Gavel hit)

BTW, this is what happens sometimes when you try to delete a remark, it just retags it as “Guest” and leaves it up. Happened to me once or twice when I wanted to completely re-do an entry. So yeah, that’s Mark Pooper, not a random “guest.”

  • Lord Foggybottom

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if somebody decided to make it their mission to hack the shit out of every one of these lying pigs in the media and expose them for who they truly are? Forget anthrax and all that jazz, exposing their emails and personal thoughts will do far more damage to their agendas than violence ever could.

  • StandSomeMore

Wonder why Democrats’ emails are never hacked? Machiavelli: Ds use their opponents rules and morality against them, while having none of their own.

  • Plep

These people just unwittingly made those paintings very valuable at some point in the future.

  • Maxx

Breaking news: “Hacks grateful for hackers.”

LOL You should work for the NY Post.

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

I won’t join in the public voyeurism into the Bush’s private communications. Following those links just feeds the beast. This entire business is just plain revolting. I want no part of it and condemn ALL of you who are delighting in the violation of this family’s privacy. Shame on you.

  • SineWaveII

Great new media, now how about those “Lisa Jackson” emails? And when are you going to get around the communications between our leaders on the night of 9/11/12? If you would publish those as well I would appreciate it.

  • Booker

This is kind of distasteful. So they censor a madman’s manifesto, but there is no censorship here? Thanks for the consistency, left wing media.

  • jb

I’m wondering about the legality of journalists re-posting these illegally obtained information on a private citizen(s)?

  • J.N. Ashby

    “insexting” was pretty funny though.

  • Ntr

Liberals sure got the Bushes and the Republicans with this one. There is nothing more insulting and revolting to them than a politician showing a little relatability and normalcy. And that’s twice as true concerning someone they spent so much time on dehumanizing.

  • BeeKaaay

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

NO WONDER leftwingwackos hate Christianity! They can NEVER treat people nice, they can only treat people mean and nasty.

  • Nonya

Odd how the LIBS just can’t get enough of republicans and the Bush’s. Sad really. bunch of pathetic losers. They also need to something to talk about in the media as the COVER-UP continues on obama.

  • kim

This is like the media over Palin’s emails. One big yawn. But they never stop striving at mediocracy

  • Marty Luther

The media won’t report the public domain facts on Obama’s disaster Presidency but dig around instead for things to tease or embarrass Bush about. We are finished as a Nation.

  • poljunkie♪

Buzz sure has a love/hate relationship with the right dont they?

  • Guest

    Poor old MSM, no longer having lovable GW around to blame and mock;
now you grovel to Obama, a cowardly narcissist…how proud you must feel.
