WTF is with this woman standing behind Deval Patrick FANNING HERSELF while Deval discusses a BLIZZARD? It's 25 degrees outside!

On Thursday, as Massachusetts prepared for “swift, heavy and dangerous” snow, Gov. Deval Patrick held a press briefing to issue warnings and safety advice about winter storm Nemo. But it was someone else who got most of the attention — a woman with a fan.
Standing behind Patrick, fan lady distracted viewers almost to the point of hypnosis.
I think the lady fanning herself behind @devalpatrick yesterday needs her own hash tag. #fanlady. What can you come up with? So distracting.—

Twitter users identified “fan lady” as Andrea Cabral, Secretary of the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security.
Love it. Watching @MassGovernor hold a press conference about storm prep & am distracted by Andrea Cabral fanning herself.—

@MassGovernor who is the woman fanning behind the podium NOT speaking and every speaker had to get around her. VERY distracting to see her—

Why is there a woman fanning herself behind Deval Patrick? Did she grab her Heatwave press conference accessories? lockerz.com/s/282025003—

@MassGovernor so much chatter about the woman behind you fanning herself during the pressed. Who is she and why was she there?—
Susan Frazier (@suevfraz) February 07, 2013
Gov. Patrick also played second fiddle to an extremely enthusiastic sign language interpreter.
@MassGovernor I couldn't concentrate during the press conference yesterday with the women fanning herself and the sign language woman—
Rome Miano (@RomeMiano) February 08, 2013
looks like everyone thinks the sign language woman & other woman with the fan @ Deval Patrick's presser could make a great @nbcsnl skit—

that lady that did the sign language for Deval Patrick was goin HAM—
Marc Budd (@M_Budd44) February 07, 2013
