Time’s Marco Rubio profiler: Jesus was more of a ‘bipartisan consensus builder’

Oh dear. As Twitchy reported earlier, Sen. Marco Rubio responded adroitly to Time’s ridiculous cover naming him “the Republican savior,” tweeting, “There is only one savior, and it is not me.”

Time’s response?

Amen. The writer of the piece, Mike Grunwald, weighed in, noting that he didn’t come up with the cover.

Maybe you need a question mark? Sorry, the time for that was back in December, when the cover read “Person of the Year” over Obama’s profile.

I’m sorry, was Jesus a consensus builder before or after he trashed the money changer stalls at the Temple? Was it before or after he politely schooled the priests (time and again). Etc, etc, etc. Jesus loved, but he had very high expectations of people because the Torah stated that God had high expectations of his children.

People who often have this libspeak idea of Jesus don’t read the Bible about who Jesus is. They like to make Him out to be this pacifist who just loved people without any sense of judgment. But He was and IS God, and thank God for Marco Rubio standing up to say something. As much as I disagree with him about immigration policy, He at least acknowledges who Jesus is.

      • John (it true me am)

I had to attempt to convey the bit about Jesus and pacificism to a liberal troll here the other day. He didn’t seem to understand the difference between a peaceful nature and standing passively while injustices are committed.
At some point in time they got into their head a stereotype of Ghandi and attributed it to Jesus.

They find the bible contemptible and totally misunderstand even the most fundamental of concepts contained within. They have never had a relationship with Christ and look at Christians as crazy/deluded/stupid people. That we believe in some magic smoke man in the sky. I am not exaggerating, either, have you ever talked to a liberal about the bible? Enlightening, to say the least.

Parents, take your kids to church!

        • Jim Rasmussen

They may think we’re “deluded” but I doubt we’re considered “diluted”. Although they probably do think we should “water down” our beliefs.

            corrected, thx.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. Does that sound like a “consensus builder” to anyone but a brain-dead lib?

    • J.N. Ashby

Vandalism of those money things doesn’t sound very Christian of him.

  • George Washington Mclintock

My sense, and I’m not a reporter, is that America would be better served if the employees of Time were marooned an island the French used to test their nukes.

    • John (it true me am)

Take away the past tense from “used” and we got a plan.

  • waltermitty2012

Are there no Christians employed at Time magazine? Apparently not.

Even if there were, as slim a chance as that may be, they would not dare identify themselves; they’d be out on their ass. At that point, I wouldn’t call you a Christian, but a coward.

Oh great, does this mean we are going to get a libspeak version of the Bible too? “Moses was a racial unifier who unilaterally separated from the great nation of Egypt” …………….oy vey

    • http://www.facebook.com/138900508 Patrick Dennehy

Haha, nicely done. The King Barry Version, American Progressive Version, Liberal Standard Version(LSV)

Jesus wasn’t a consensus builder. He certainly wasn’t bipartisan. It was His way or the highway.

Apparently they missed the “I did not come to bring peace, but a sword” part.

Even if Andrea Mitchell never sinned she would still go to Hell just for her stupidity.

The only consensus involving Time is that we can all agree it makes for a great bottom for bird cages.

    • John (it true me am)

No way, then the poor birds will never be able to look down safely again.

Evan Thomas called Obama ‘a sort of God’ with his work to slow the rise of the sea and bipartisanship. With his work on his apology tour. And to heal relations with the Muslim world. How is that working out Mr Thomas?

  • TocksNedlog

I guess it was too difficult for the editors of TIME to think for a minute and decide to go with “Will Marco Rubio Save The Republican Party?”

    I MADE TWITCHY!!!!!!! *drops mic*

  • Blake Waymire

If Jesus was a “bipartisan consensus builder”, why do progressives hate Him so much? They’re all about bipartisanship, don’t you know? Look how many gestures they’ve made to reach across the aisle and negotiate with conservatives. Oh wait…

Grunwald, the Journolister, who says with a straight face, the stimulus worked, seriously,

The novelty candidate touted as the savior. Republicns want a star figure. If you were really angry at the cover there’d be much more comments against it.
