Chris Rock on gun control: Obama is ‘our boss’ and ‘dad of the country’

Noted gun policy expert Chris Rock hit Capitol Hill today with fellow celebri-tools Tony Bennett and Amanda Peet to “Demand a Plan to End Gun Violence.”

At a press conference with Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Law Center to Prevent Violence, Rock explained his enlightened and informed stance on gun control without mentioning … guns. Sadly, it wasn’t a comedy routine:

I’m just here to support the president of the United States. The president of the United States is, you know, our boss. But he’s also, you know, the president and the first lady are kind of like the mom and the dad of the country. And when your dad says something, you listen. And when you don’t, it usually bites you in the ass later on. So, I’m here to support the president.

Whatever you say, Big Daddy Government! Unless the president has an (R) after his name.

Video here:

Who’s your daddy? Not President Obama.

Celebri-policy hypocrisy: Noted expert Chris Rock heads to D.C. to push for gun control

  • Djach Djach

Looks like Chris Rock is still a crackhead!

  • Jimni27

Oh, did he listen to his dad George Bush when he was boss?

    • V the K

No, his attitude toward the previous president was somewhat more nuanced:

      • Jimni27

He is such a moron. I know it’s wishful thinking but I hope some liberals will see this and maybe just realize how far they have gone with Obama’s cult of personality. #ifwecansavejustonelib

        • GaylePutt

They don’t care. He’s black and he gives away free stuff. That’s all that matters.

          • Jimni27

            lol true. One can dream.

      • Readhed

        “Nuanced”. LOL.

      • kem63

This proves how racist rock really is.

    • TocksNedlog

George Bush was only his stepdad. And nobody listens to their stepdad.

      • SturJen

I disagree. My Stepdad is magnitudes a better man than my father. One is a man who chose to raise another man’s kids well instead of hiding from his responsibilities in a bottle of Old Milwaukee. (Actually that is millions of bottles of Old Milwaukee by now)
And to take this down the same road; I’d rather listen to Step Dad Bush than to put up with a narcissistic a$$hat that wants his own grand kids killed so his kids won’t get ‘punished’ with them.

        • TocksNedlog

          I agree with your positions.

It was just a silly joke, meant to illustrate the two faces of Chris Rock. And hey, if I thought I was good enough to write for money, I’d be off doing that instead of hanging around here!

  • Tom Bannigan

This is proof that we need better education in the school systems. Somewhere his teachers are crying heavily in their drinks today after hearing this.

    • Undine

His teachers are likely the ones who put these ideas in what passes for his brain.

      • Shawn Smith

I agree. The teachers’ unions are 100% behind the Commie-in-Chief. Just like our media, they will happily lie to defend him and his agenda.

        • Judy B

Google “unions AND communism”…they’ve been connected from the beginning.

  • Christian Collins

I will channel Maury Povich, with a CC to Chris Rock:

B Hussein Obama…”YOU are NOT the father!”

    • Rulz

When it comes to the American people, President Obama… are NOT the Father!

    • Jimni27

lol you need to put that on twitter

      • Christian Collins

        I did! Thanks :)

    • tredglx

Chris Rock: another Hollyweird Useful Idiot.™

  • walterc

No Chris, the President is just another public employee. Granted a well paid public employee, but a public employee none the less.

We DON’T have royalty in this country.

  • Fly Face

Another hate filled black man…yuck it up goofy.

  • Conrad2010

HEY Chris Rock! The President works for us

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    THEY ain’t my MOM AND DAD! KING OBAMA IS A FINK! Jawamax 8<{D} And they ain't the Boss of me #TheyMightBeGiants #MalcolmInTheMiddle #MusicTriviaTime Either! Jawamax 8<{D}

  • N3al

I’m sure that disappointed the president. A couple of months ago, wasn’t he on a pedestal along side Jesus Christ? I will admit it; these days I feel more like a subject than a citizen. But Mommy Obammy? I don’t think so.

  • Joe W.

My Dad is deceased, you ignorant assclown. May his soul rest in peace. Barack Obama is not fit to have shined my father’s shoes, either. Nor is he my “boss” I have NO boss, Chrissie. NONE.

  • Noah Lee

hey, Chris Rock: Manson was also a “dad”, so were Bundy and Gacy. I don’t think we should listen to them, i don’t think we should listen to Obammey.

  • Pablo

Rock to Bush: You’re a “Retard!”

Chris Rock thinks George W. Bush is a retard.

In the latest issue of Life
magazine, featuring Chris on the cover, Rock is asked, “Is this country
ready for an African American president?” Rock answered, “It’s ready
for a retarded president, why wouldn’t it be ready for an African
American president?” Oh no he didn’t!

    • GaylePutt

I think he’s saying they are one and the same….

      • Judy B

There was & is NOTHING retarded about George Bush. The country was in good shape under his leadership until the last two years. He erred hugely by going along to get along with his last congress, both houses controlled by DIMS. He should have taken his case to the American public instead of remaining silent.

    • Grumpa Grumpus

I wasn’t aware Mr. rock was running next election…

  • TocksNedlog

    “Lead the nation” . . . “Boss us around” . . . semantics!
    [eye roll]

  • smorkingapple

Folks, get a life. A comedian has your feathers all ruffled. Again, a comedian. Seriously?

    • DanStlMo

This “Comedian” is attempting to influencing public policy.

      • GaylePutt

And sadly, some will take it as gospel.

    • Kevin Krom

The fact that a comedian was TESTIFYING on Capitol Hill is the real joke. And tragedy.

    • dmacleo

if policy wasn’t being pushed for/advocated by these comedians then we would ignore him.
he was at a mayors against guns function, speaking for them.

    • Noah Lee

yeah, wtf is he doing there? he didn’t even talk about guns. he just went there to let every one of us know he’s got his lips firmly affixed to obama’s taint.

    • Gallatin

If he is just a comedian why does he get to go to DC and spout off for the administration and the press? I haven’t been invited yet, have you?

    • Jillane Kent

Isn’t comedy supposed to be funny and better relegated to films and clubs-not policy discussions?

    • SturJen

Yeah your ‘relax, it’s a joke’ card has been revoked. Reason? Over usage. A joke isn’t funny if I’m not laughing. And looks to me like a lot of people agree with me.

  • TocksNedlog

If Obama is my boss, then I Quit.

  • Maxx

Hey Chris, if the President is my dad, how come I don’t look like Treyvon?

  • Mapache

Funny, my dad stopped telling me what to do when I left home and got a job….Obama (both of them) will not stop and every day come up with new things I have to do or not do.

    What would Chuck Woolery say?

  • Guest

and you people question why I refuse to go see Hollywood movies when idiots like Chris Rock & his ‘armed body guards’ get rich from people doing just that. Anyone who goes to movies, purchase dvds, attend concerts or buy cds are financing not just liberal politicians but laws that will soon take away your freedom and liberties. BOYCOTT Hollywood!

    • Gallatin

Amen, hollyweird doesn’t get any of my money either. I read a lot more, books that have the same political/economic leanings that I have.

      • GaylePutt

I agree….put Hollyweird out of business.

      • Grumpa Grumpus

        I read a lot, too.
If I may, however, I would suggest a more “well-rounded” reading list. There was at one time a group of books sold by Britannica called ‘Great Works of Western Civilization’ or some-such. When I purchased the set during the late 1960s it included histories, a somewhat balanced philosophy section, much of Shakespeare, Great Expectations, etc. Not exactly everything I’d have picked, but quite a good variety in (I think it was 35 volumes) and enough to keep a person busy reading a couple of years. I’m sure a little research could unearth a list… or create a better list.
Now-a-days, I mostly read The Gospel. I have a few favorite biographies… such as various Geo. Washington, Ben Franklin, John Adams, and Lincoln’s.
I just tire too easily now… as you can tell from my increased absence here.

    • Judy B

110% correct, these idiots would be nothing but for the vast wealth that good, patriotic Americans have put in their pockets.

    • Noah Lee

i can’t even think of one Chris Rock movie that was good. Most of them are in the 5 dollar bin in wal-mart.

  • carla5731

My real dad told me not to listen to drug users as they often showed poor judgment in other areas. I’ll stick with that advice and try to limit the influence Barack “Choom and Coke” Obama has over my life.

  • Noah Lee

Chris Rock has this image in the minds of many that he’s some tough, brash, in-your-face, gangster. He’s like, what..120 pounds soaking wet?! and he gets down on his knees and sucks off any politician that has a D next to their name. That isn’t edgy. He’s as dangerous as a nerf gun.

  • annoyinglittletwerp

Moochelle and Barry are my parents? Please tell me that I was adopted!

    • GaylePutt

Run away from home, don’t look back, hurry!!!!

  • $1014973

I see we have the usual collection of nitwits in the background.

  • $1014973

I hate to be the one to break it to chris rock, but my Dad is white.

  • Gallatin

“I’m just here to support the president of the United States. The

And when you don’t, it usually bites you in the ass later on. So, I’m
    here to support the president.”

Nope this isn’t what my father taught me and I respect him more than the obowmaos. If you want to support obowmao that certainly is your prerogative chrissy. I choose not to support obowmao on this issue or any others.

  • Junie3

Maybe the black folks need a dad and a mom, since the dim welfare forbids 2 parents raising the kids, but this clown doesn’t speak for me or mine.

  • $7421226

obama is not fit to crawl up out of his fecal communist hole to even lick the sole of my 100% AMERICAN father’s workboot.

  • $7421226

Strom Thurmond’s daughter died, and the Left is demonizing her memory as his ‘mixed race’ daughter… well, this mixed-race ‘president’ is sure NOT the ‘father of the country’, but the sociopath narcissistic crackhead monster destroying it.

    • Patrick Dennehy

Wow!!! Strom Thurmond’s Mixed-Race Daughter Dies at 87. That’s the MSM’s headline across the web. That is UNBELIEVABLE! Even Fox ran that headline, that’s awful.

      • GaylePutt

  • B Todd Poole

Just another lib celebrity displaying how little they know of the country or the political system. Chris, the president works for us, the American people.

  • Keith Barry

rock is an actor..a comedic actor..synonymous with “CLOWN”..why is
    anyone asking a clown’s opinion on a national issue..or taking a clown’s
opinion as a guide to life…

    • Jillane Kent

I believe most people are marveling that he was ever invited to share the fruits of his exhaustive research with Capitol Hill.

  • Marcy Cook

    Hey, Chris…. Rock this.

  • $27789750

Ahhh he is the father..the father of divisivness, in fighting, dis-content, hatred…those are his parental skills.

  • daeghrefn

We’re paying his salary, you ass. Is this the administration’s idea of a charm offensive?

  • Drew Longview

Funny you never heard this type of sentiment when Bush was in office. Democrats are just impervious to the hypocrisy we have seen posted over the last few months.

  • GaryTheBrave

The word BOSS is backwards for Stupid SOB.

  • rogueco

Rock, stuttering while looking at his notes, realizing Jaime Foxx had already used the “our lord and savior” line. Damn you, Foxx!

  • EastValleyConservative

What a shocker, another celebridiot touting policies as if they are someone special we should listen to. Chris Rock has made his career based on his race and his race only, so we can see how he would align with the Dems on most issues.

  • Brian Thornton

And yet, people will still hear him and say… yeah that makes sense!

  • RadicalRebelWhoMeToo

.@chrisrock apparently FAILED third grade history.

  • rivers

Some of us have dads and so do our kids.
What kind of losers think that it matters wether or not some rich celebrity supports the President?

  • conservativemomma

I recognize John Lewis but who are the other people around him? I would like to share my views with them.

  • Guest

Who needs a father who shows blatant favoritism to those kids who look like him

  • Stupid Republic

I’m sorry, but if BHO is my father, I’m going to the court and filing for emancipation. Likewise, if BHO is my boss, I’m giving my retroactive two weeks notice today.

I don’t recall my father ever authorizing a drone strike anytime I did something stupid as a kid. And when my VP and I have a disagreement on a business matter, he’s not sending in Seal Team Six to whack me.

  • wyatt81

Sounds like Rock needs a substitute daddy and mommy so he’s going to give the Obamas that honor. And wants the rest of us to do the same. This pathetic hypocrisy and foolishness just never ends, does it. Dumbed down doesn’t even begin to describe it.

  • TocksNedlog

  • TugboatPhil

Sorry, Chris, but if I had a father, he’d look like Ronald Reagan.

    • GaylePutt

      Wonderful comment…..

  • TocksNedlog

Lets see here: An uncaring inhuman freak that chops off our hand when we dare express a desire for independence?

    Darth Daddy!

  • Sharpshooter

What I find ironic is that Rock is appearing with, “mayors against gun violence” or what ever they call themselves and the majority couldn’t even pass a background check.

  • HARP2

He is paying child support with OUR money. GIVE IT BACK !!!

  • beautifuldayifyoubelieve

I just went to CR twitter page, why don’t all these tweets show up there?

  • austin feathers

Millions have stood the post to ensure we don’t ever call an elected leader “Boss” or “Daddy.” Chris Rock…Grow a brain or grow a pair…either way, I dont give a damn!

  • GaylePutt

Chris Rock is nuts. Obama is NOT the boss, the people are. And he’s not my father…who was a WWII veteran in the Army Medical corps (you don’t pronounce the P – Just saying’ ), bronze star recipient and staunch conservative.

    • Grumpa Grumpus

Thank you for your father’s service!
Those guys in the Medical Corps were the unsung heroes of the war! I know that I’d have not made it if they weren’t The Best!

  • Edward Parks

Chris certainly has changed his tune:

  • EffeminateIvyLeagueFob

    You don’t pay someone to boss you around,unless you’re retarded…..or a liberal,apparently…..well,same thing.

  • Garth Haycock

Obama isn’t my boss. We are supposed to be his boss.

  • 24fan

I already have a daddy as well as a heavenly Father whose also my “boss” if you wanna call it that but more important my King. Besides I prefer parents and God who aren’t abusive and show no favoritism.

  • Bijanh Rodtiguez

Stop!!! Just stop! The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun!!!
History shows it! Make drugs illegal and now you created a black market and cartel. Now only criminals obtain them.
Same thing with guns!!! Make guns illegal and now guns are in the hands of criminals only!!!
No!!! No, no, no, no, no!
Leave our guns alone and give out more guns to the law aiding citizens!!!

  • doublee64

Boss, dad, WTF – And if he wags that finger at me one time I’m going to remove it for him!

  • bonnieblue2A

George Washington was the father of this Republic. NOT Obama.

  • cfc1905

So Chris, what did you get George Bush for fathers day?

  • Ntr

What this says is that Hollywood needs to be pushed out of relevancy and not just being shouted down. This nation has no place for a propaganda wing and Hollywood has been that for far too long.

  • toreilly

Was George Bush your boss and your daddy, too. Asswipe!

  • Gary DeBates

Another stupid remark from an actor. Most, not all, think they are above all others. Pay them min. wage then see who listen to their remarks.

  • BeeKaaay

Here is the new boss, same as the old boss….

  • pgreen45

“Collectivism leads to concentration camps, leader-worship, and war.”

  • Linda Clark Setters

I wonder if he is a gun owner or has bodyguards that are gun owners???? Such hypocrits in Hollywood…nothing but a bunch of idiots there

  • DeadBuffalo Blog

…then do what your daddy says. Give 3/4 of your income to das state, Chris Rock. Oh, I’m sorry. You’re one of those special entertainment cases. Just do as you say, not do as you do. Nevuh mind…

  • J.N. Ashby

Actually, that’s not at all true. The Congress makes the laws. The President is meant to be a mostly ceremonial position.

  • Jesse Herman

    Chris Rock w Daddy Obama…

  • TexasBirdGirl

Obama IS NOT my daddy, is he yours?? I only have ONE earthly father and ONE heavenly Father…Obama is NEITHER. He isn’t my boss either.

  • lillymckim

I think Chris Rock is in need of a psych evaluation..

I wonder how much this dog and pony show for KING OBAMA with “SUPER STAR” Chris Rock cost us the American Tax Payers?

  • JustLikeAnimals

When people in this country start asking for or taking the advice of a miscreant like Chris Rock, we are indeed entering dangerous times. What a total piece of s^%$t.

just another ignorant American who can’t think for themselves and needs a ring in their nose to be led around by der Fuhrer. Do us all a favor, Chris. Renounce your citizenship and move to Russia. I’m sure Putin would love to tell you what to do everyday.

  • BeeKaaay

And “daddy” does not pay his child support, he demands someone else pay it.

  • S Davidson

    Just plain nutty.

  • Susan Pillsbury

remember when Rock actually had some edge in his political humor? He comes off now like an embarrassing daddy’s boy.

  • lillymckim

    Chris Rocks mother and Obama?

  • Denise

Was President Bush and Laura Bush Chris Rock’s Dad and Mom? Was President Bush his boss? Hypocrite!

  • Karma007

    Father? More like the “Godfather”
