‘Calm down’ is how Juan Williams defends Obama’s failing policies to Michelle Malkin

Twitchy founder Michelle Malkin might be “just a blogger” to Juan Williams, but he’d do well to appreciate her gift of perspective from outside the Washington bubble. Appearing with Sean Hannity tonight, she let real journalist Williams know that real people are getting a real shock from smaller paychecks and higher insurance premiums. The Right Scoop has the video.

And yes, Williams continued his war on women by telling Malkin to “calm down,” as if she were just another “corporate wife” like Ann Romney.

I hope Michelle kicks Juan’s a$$! The kind his momma should have given him.

  • Foxxman

Michelle is a stone cold killer with logic. Emotional? Ha! I absolutely adore this woman. Never “calm down,” Michelle. Keep fighting the good fight.

    • DaProf

      Liberals confuse emotion with passion.

That’s why they claim to be passionate about issues when in reality they are just being emotional. You see that in their deflections and ad-hominems, among other activities they engage in.

      • Elaine

Besides Obama himself, Obamacare is the worst thing that has ever happened to this country. Big mouth Biden was right.. BFD.

      • Catchance

Love that explanation! Thanks, and I’m going to be using that.

  • https://twitter.com/tweetyuo Tangchung

Michelle slaps Juan so hard his eyes were rolling.

  • Weeper of the House

Is Malkin always hysterical? Evidently. And no she doesn’t hold a grudge, only whines about in tweets for the next few hours.

    • https://twitter.com/#!/dudgeohpolitix Dudge OH Politics

      Jeez… calm down…!

    • http://twitter.com/1RandiStarr Randi Starr

No one will talk to you outside the virtual world will they. I feel your pain.

      • Weeper of the House

I guess its too hard to answer the question so you attack the questioner. Typical conservative tactic.

          Presume much?

          • Jack Deth

Looks like GOP SLOP has a bit of a masochistic streak running through his relatively new 27 comment veins.

He must hold a lot of angst inside. After years of trying to fit in somewhere, anywhere. And being suspended from the corner of his locker door by his BVDs.

Which could explain his banishment from Huff Po and Kos.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002109532283 Jillane Kent

Stereotyping and ad hominems? Touche. I find that to be a typical liberal response.

        • Matthew Koch

You mean just like how you didn’t address any of the questions or points she raised.

Accusing a woman of being hysterical because she’s strong willed and doesn’t back down, I believe your misogyny is showing!

          • Weeper of the House

She was responding to me not vice versa. I guess debate is beyond you (that is rhetorical and not a question since you seem to struggle with that)

          • Matthew Koch

I was talking about how you condemn Ms. Malkin without debating a single point she raised while at the same time condemning Randi for attacking you and not debating your points. Not surprisingly since you’re a leftist you didn’t understand the irony.

          • http://twitter.com/JLG1956 Jerome Goolsby

To debate with a Moonbat like you GOP SLOP is likely impossible as you lack the intellectual depth necessary for such an undertaking.

          • Weeper of the House

Talk much? That is a question.

        • wwbdinct

      A) Why do you consider it unseemly that the founder of a website would highlight their television appearance?
      B) Whining? How so?
      C) Generally, when one is perpetually marginalized by an individual and their germane points are ignored, a “grudge” is a natural reaction.
      D) Hysterical? Perhaps being impassioned is in the eye of the beholder, but do you believe she exhibited the clinical signs of hysteria in her appearance?

    • http://twitter.com/TheAngieNC2 Angie (D)

Hysterical? You sexist pig. I don’t care that you are a vile prog, which means you are too ignorant to know that the word “hysterical” it is derived from the Greek word hystera which means “womb” (cf: hysterectomy); thus, technically only a female can be hysterical — the fact that you used such a sexist word about a woman who was *not* in fact displaying an irrational outburst of emotion or fear means you are a priori sexist, which is par for vile progs everywhere.

Ironically, it is you progs who are suffering from mass hysteria with your willful ignorance and hypocrisy regarding Dear Leader.

      • RightThinking1

What! A Democratic war on women? Not possible.
I am once again reminded of the character on ‘New Christine’ declaring, “I can’t be a racist…, I drive a Prius!”

      • Weeper of the House

Thank you for walking straight into that one. So you must be calling Michelle Malkin a sexist pig because she uses that word in reference to just about anyone she doesn’t like–other women, liberals, cancer screenings, you name it. And just two weeks ago this site in reference to Hillary Clinton.

As did many other conservatives. But no where did you or other conservatives suggest that they were sexist. So thanks for proving my point that this site and conservatives generally are not only sexist pigs, but hypocrites. So thank you for your hysterical outrage. You made my day. :)

        • http://twitter.com/TheAngieNC2 Angie (D)

Hey Einstein — I’m calling you a sexist pig because that is what you are. Don’t try to extrapolate from there what else I *must* be doing, as you’ve already proven that you don’t have the ability to think — which is why the sexist, racist attacks are so appealing to your craven, base nature.

          • Weeper of the House

You are hysterically funny for your massive FAIL.

          • http://twitter.com/TheAngieNC2 Angie (D)

Oh snap — a loser claiming I’m a massive fail 3 days later — coming from someone like you — who doesn’t know your *ss from a hole in the ground I can assure you, I don’t give a sh!t.

          • Weeper of the House

3 days, 1 year, the rest of your life, it won’t change. Hysterical Hypocrite

  • http://twitter.com/1RandiStarr Randi Starr

Isn’t it nice Juan that you are able to voice your opinion without being fired inspite of the fact you are obtuse.

  • Jack Deth

    Game. Set. Match. Michelle Malkin.

Juan should really know better than to try to tap dance with lame, droning talking points that were stale and stagnant months ago.

    He really should.

    • RightThinking1

Ahhh, you forget that his apprenticeship was with NPR. As the twig is bent, so grows the tree.

‘…lame, droning talking points..’ are all that they use.

  • Adela Wagner

Seems “just a blogger” is now a fast track stepping stone, resume wise, into the WH. 2 bloggers recently garnered key positions on WH staff. If Michelle ever ran for an elected position I’d definitely vote for her…twice(ha). Rock on Michelle, any time you are on, no one is allowed to speak in this house..even the 4 jack russells.

    • Matthew Koch

Hey now, You can only vote twice if you live in Chicago!

      • Adela Wagner

Shucks….Sorry Michelle, love ya, but there’s not enough love in this world to move me to Thugville.

        • TocksNedlog

Relax. Michelle does not live in Chicago.

      • TocksNedlog

Three times if you’re dead in Chicago.
Say, that means 1500 extra votes last year!

  • Maxx

Telling an intelligent, opinionated woman with facts to “calm down?” He might as well have asked her to make him a sandwich. Could he possibly have been more condescending? Williams should have known by now that if you’re going to debate with Malkin, bring yer A game. Michelle…as always, well done. The poor guy didn’t stand a chance.

    • Elaine

One reason I turn the channel when Juan appears on Fox!

I do the same. Juan is on my Do Not Watch List

          • TEXANONLY

Yes it is, Not the tv show his radio show.

    • Red Fred

Ever notice how the people who tell you to calm down are the people who upset you in the first place? Michelle served him up.

  • Black Ball

Seen enough of Ms Malkin and read enough of her work to suggest that she would be a great politician. Has she considered a move into politics?

  • Billy boy

Williams is a fool. The guy is such a lightweight when it comes to debate and argument. His journalistic contributions on various Fox News panels lack any cohesive organization of the facts and his opinions on various subjects, are elementary and superficial in content. When he sits on these various panels with other profound and interesting pundits, he appears befuddled and irritated and usually lashes out in response to disagreement with rhetoric becoming an adolescent. Why Fox keeps him in this format and sends him on many shows is beyound understanding. He comes across as ignorant and confused.

    • Mark Close

Great Response and .. Your user name doesn’t do you justice!

  • Voting Female

Juan to Michelle: *RollEyes* Calm down you hysterical non-journalist no-body.

Michelle to Juan: Stuff it Beltway Bobble-Head Obama ass kisser.

  • TitzyFritzensimmons

I’m so tired of Juan Williams! It was one thing for Fox to take pity on him after NPR canned him, but they’ve given him way too much air time. His arguments aren’t intellectually honest and, frankly, I’d have more respect for Mr. Williams if he’d just say, “I support every action Obama takes because he’s black and he’s a Democrat.

    • http://www.vatican.va/ Rulz

I didn’t see the clip, but I think it’s good if the left is free to make fools of themselves on a reliably top 10 cable network.

  • BeeKaaay

Leftwingwackos don’t know anything about calming down, they always proceed with emotion and illogical methods.

Imagine if a Conservative told a progressive female to “calm down?” Imagine the charges of more “war on women” speak?

  • lainer51

Didn’t Pisse Morgan say the same thing to Alex Jones? What a coincidence..

    • blockthiscnn

The difference is AJ has a screw loose, and MM doesn’t.

      • lainer51

maybe yes, maybe no….. but the point is, that is all the LEFT ever has…. “calm down and listen to what the King and I have to say”

        • TocksNedlog

          Liberal debate tactics 101:
When you’re losing on substance, question the manner in which your opponent’s substantive arguments are being presented.

        • RightThinking1

          …or ‘Listen to your dad.’

  • wallwatchman

I hate that when a guy tries to diminish what a woman is saying by telling her to calm down! When we’re passionate with our arguments, we’re emotional. When they do the same thing, their thought of as tough, confident in their facts! Typical! A chauvinist play by a lib! What hypocrites!

  • $29520529

Juan, would he be another house slave for the Obama White House? Me thinks so.

Juan Williams is nothing but a RACIST anti-American punk.

  • TocksNedlog

Michelle took Juan to school and shot his argument full of holes!
[Uh, sorry if that was politically incorrect. Maybe I should just calm down.]

  • kayakingfatso

Uggh. This guy is a pig. That smug look on his face makes me want to hit it. With my truck.

  • ClinkinKY

Hopefully Juan Williams will follow Dick Morris “out the door” of FOX. Then again FOX is all about “appeasement” these days, so he’d just be replaced by another liberal.

  • Guest

The pathetic Juan Williams is the cabin boy on Obama’s Titanic.
Williams being unashamedly partisan is fine,
but his dishonesty is not acceptable.

  • TruDat

Michelle Malkin is beautiful, smart, and drives liberal loons crazy. If only she were mine!

  • http://www.righthook38.com righthook38

Juan lost his ability to be even the slightest bit objective after Obama became president. I used to like him…he was at least open to more conservative opinions at times, but now….useful idiot, I’m afraid. Who stood up for him when he was fired from NPR? Conservatives. But he tromps all over them, and acts like an arse. I can’t stand to listen to him anymore.

  • BenY

MIchelle is great! The only time I watch FOX now is when she is on. FOX has become a place where the libs, like Juan, Beckel, etal. can just spew their lies, mostly unchallenged, and are called “my friend”. I question a conservative who calls someone supporting the destruction of this country a friend.

  • http://twitter.com/sasha_ari Sasha Williams

She needed to calm down. All she did was throw a hissy fit and talk in double-speak. Her face was probably beet red under all that bronzer.

    • BeeKaaay

Juan Williams is so thin skinned, he can’t handle anyone having a different opinion than he does, so he sends one of his relatives here to post in the combox :)

You ever heard the caterwauling that ensues when a conservative person says, “Calm down,” to a hysterical lib woman???

  • BeeKaaay

Leftwingwackos HATE it when people have their own opinions.

  • vino veritas

Calling his use of the phrase “calm down” during this exchange ‘sexist’ is a stretch (at best), although he has used some fairly condescending language in previous debates with her as well as with other people. Michelle was clearly agitated and annoyed during the segment with Williams so it may have simply been an innocuous remark. I do think she nailed him on the sentiment behind his mostly factually inaccurate arguments, however, when she suggests that he and obamabots like him would just like everyone to stop questioning their Dear Leader and succumb to his high-flying propaganda machine like good little lemmings.

Williams often misrepresents things while blending in emotional fallacies in order to help him attain that reasonable & moderate tone he masquerades around with at Fox. This is especially easy for him to accomplish when the fact is he is hardly EVER put in a position to be called out by an aggressive, fact-oriented, poignant debate opponent as he is whenever he is paired up against Michelle Malkin. When that happens it concludes with the sort of visibly poor performance he is guilty of in this exchange. Williams seems to be nothing more than another coddled liberal enjoying his stay at Fox News as a PR device to help them bolster their mantra of “fair & balanced”.

He occasionally gets thrown into a real fight only to have it time crunched down to 3 minutes (at best) while some talking head ‘moderates’.. meaning they engineer and divert questions so as to keep guys like Williams from having to back up their arguments and take the full heat for the erroneous statements they make.
This is what the new age of media looks like in 2013. ‘Fair, Balanced & Unafraid’… HA!
