Piers ‘Musket’ Morgan finds pro-gun protesters ‘slightly tyrannical’

If anything is ironic, it’s that a British journalist feels no hesitation ridiculing Americans (Ben Shapiro in particular) for thinking they might have to one day defend their freedom — seriously, when has that ever happened? To Morgan, though, the First Amendment is the one that matters; after all, he credited it with protecting him from “deportation.” When more than a few American citizens exercise their own First Amendment rights outside the confines of a New York TV studio, though, it can seem a little tyrannical.

So, is this what tyranny looks like?

What does it say that Morgan felt safer inside the gun range, with Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott armed and waiting?

Even worse, Abbott was accompanied by a known gun nut who goes by the alias, “The Motor City Madman.” How did Morgan escape with his life? And did the owner of the gun shop manage to sell him a musket?

    ‘protesters’ a.k.a. Nuge fans

  • Avey Owyns

This is an instance of someone trying to be clever without thinking. Tyranny cannot arise out of a peaceful protest – it is restricted to define a seize committed by a centralized POWER, usually manifest through one man.

    • http://www.facebook.com/corey.dennison Corey Dennison

Possibly the most cogent post on this thread! Exactly right…how, precisely does ‘tyranny,’ come from people exercising a Constitutionally-guaranteed right?
Piers Morgan:”These people who are protesting for their rights are slightly ‘tyrannical.'”
Inigo Montoya: “You keep using that word…I do not think it means what you think it means.”

  • Brian Roastbeef

Yeah guys, stop acting “slightly tyrannical.” Don’t you know that the trend today is all about being overwhelmingly and blatantly tyrannical. That’s what Piers likes. That and the smell of his own farts, given where his head is all the time.

    • catb55

My 5X great grandfather fought these British twits in the first Revolutionary War .. now it seems like his great granddaughter (me) is having to do it all over again. Remember who won Piers?

btw .. I am British by heritage (as was my 5X great grandfather) but AMERICAN by Birth and Choice .. no hyphenating here .. I am AMERICAN!

James, back when we used to have to wear dress uniform ashore while overseas, there was a sure fire way to get a bar fight started with the Brits if they were in town. On the back of our jumper tops (the Cracker Jack uniform) there are two small stars. Eventually some Brit would ask, “What are those two stars for?”

You had a choice of answers, and either worked as well as the other.
          A) It’s for the two times we’ve kicked your azz.
          B) It’s for the two times we’ve saved your azz.

Although jumping on top of a table and bad mouthing the Queen would work fairly well too. And for the record, the Aussies were always much better than us at getting them pissed off.

    Tyrannical? Projection much, Piers?

With all the work the Gun Salesman-in-Chief has been doing lately, it was a minor miracle there was anything in the shop to shoot.

  • VerminMcCann

That’s a neat trick: describe something as being the opposite of what it is, then claim your
description is ironic. That’s the definition of literal irony.

  • bobbymike34

But remember this is Leftist 101 – like another commenter said. Call something the exact opposite of what it is making what you’re doing rational and reasonable.
Ace of Spades just posted about this as exactly what the left is doing to conservatives and Republicans. Basically, between Leftist groups, Democrats, the media, etc. just yell this constantly non-stop until the true ‘freedom loving person who respects individual rights AS OUTLINED in the Constitutiona and Bill of Rights is actually the Tyrannical one and the person ACTUALLY taking your rights is the freedom loving Constitution follower.
    God it is sickening!!

    • catb55

Projection … The progressive (commie) way.

  • Clayton B

Please Twitchy, stop giving this bell-end Morgan any attention. He is a non citizen, and on the Fluke scale, has about a three parking space group of followers.

    • Rob

I am quite sick of hearing him whine. If you need crazy I hear Al Sharpton opened his mouth. It might have been a yawn but check on it.

  • tony30088

My 96 lbs wife loves guns but Fatty az Piers is afraid of them. I would be too Piers if I falsely through the British Army under the bus in 2004 and escaped to America.
They’ll catch up to you soon MusketMorgan.

  • Maxx

Stay tuned next week when “milking Morgan” decides to honor the victims of Sandy Hook further but having himself shot out of a circus cannon.

    • tony30088

What about all the British soldiers he through under the bus in 2004? What happened to their families? Has Piers forgotten? Damn sure bet they haven’t.

  • http://www.facebook.com/JoeZepeda606 Joe Zepeda

This gun owner was stupid as it gets. He also had a radio interview Aug 2012 where he said he was for online ammo bans… Why??? So he could make more money! Now he lets his ego get in the way saying “I can shoot about 200rds within a minute”… Umm… Bull Crap. Im a competition 3 gun shooter and i can assure you he would be very very lucky to get 90 off in a minute. Your finger gets shockingly tired after 20-40rds plus reload at 30rds… good luck. He also made it sound like converting an Ar to full auto only needed some parts ordered an “Dremel” work.. what an idiot… Trust me, its NOT easy not to mention a 10yr trip to the grey bar motel. Massively illegal.

  • GaryTheBrave

Wouldn’t someone have to be holding a sign in protest?

Why didn’t Piers head to the NRA’s Whittington Center near Raton, NM, for this program? It would allow him the opportunity to shoot some guns and be near some real NRA members.

  • http://www.facebook.com/JoeZepeda606 Joe Zepeda

in the last 6 weeks the NRA has gained 500,000 new members, you aren’t missed… I assure you. If your only reason to carry to protect yourself is because your employer paid for it then you really don’t care so we don’t want you in the NRA. Those people he said to suck his machine gun and ride his machine gun has been all over the media telling this country that we are crazy, we are bible grabbin’ gun clinging rednecks, They are attacking us so why should we sit idle by and just take it? This is a full out war for our right to protect ourselves. They had this ban ready to go in their back pocket waiting for an opportunity and they have used children to push their agenda and they have the nerve to go after the NRA? Ted Nugent is a very proud American who has done MORE for our serving Men and Women in uniform then any disgusting gun grabbing liberal. the 2nd Amendment is an absolute and SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED means exactly what it sounds like.

Im very glad to have Ted Nugent on our side. He is passionate, understands what its all about and has access to a large group of people and a microphone to make his voice heard. When you have to go against a media almost completely controlled and in the pockets of the anti gunners then you are grateful to have Fox News, Twitchy, Breitbart, The Blaze and yes Ted Nugent. Sorry you don’t agree but if your reasoning for getting off your ass to protect yourself is because you saved a few bucks, you are NOT the kind of person the NRA wants as a member.

    • Sons Thunder

Well, I think you just proved my point. I don’t have near the passion about the subject as you and you make a valid point that this has been a good season for the N.R.A.’s coffers.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have not been all over the media calling you crazy, bible grabbin’ gun clinging rednecks. I know you’re referring to the comment Obama made about clinging to religion and guns 4 years ago. That’s hardly a full-on media assault. Even if they were saying these things every day, all day…I would have a problem with telling any sitting president to suck my machine gun. Or – if you had a sister who believed in completely abolishing the 2nd amendment, I still think you might use your weapon on me if I said “Hey, you whore…come over here and ride on my machine gun!” To be clear, I’m not doing a “your sister” joke. I’m saying, it’s a clear threat of violence and I find it unacceptable.

You say they had a ban in their back pocket? What ban?

Many liberals have served in the military and died for this country. I would not dishonor their sacrifice by pretending Nugent was superior to them in patriotism or service.

I understand that we disagree and appreciate your reply. I guess I’m just going to have to accept that Nugent’s comments are OK with more people than I would have thought.

      • Joe W.

Ted Nugent is more well thought of in America than the Muzzie from Kenya….

  • TocksNedlog

    You are absolutely right!

    And the musket misfires again.

  • peteee363

tyranny is not a product of the private sector, only governments can produce it, in thier tryanny departments, otherwise called by a few names, such as dictatorship, monarchy, communist party, or central planners. but musket morgan lacks all reason and common sense, so he does not know this. hey teddy, how about some wango tango?

  • Garth Haycock

Mr. Morgan, you’re an idiot. Citizens who are pro-gun are what is stopping tyranny in this country.

  • Jack Deth

    Memo to Mr. Morgan:

Didn’t an embarrassingly large number of your “subjects” flee to points west ages ago to escape religious tyranny?

And didn’t later generations of those same “subjects” fight the tyranny of taxation enforced by Redcoats?

    Just askin’.

    • NRPax

My favorite variant on that sentiment: “We stopped caring what foreigners thought about our laws back in the 1700s.”

  • George Washington Mclintock

Mr. Lefty Bollocks was on fire. I totally could see Piers think and doing everything he tweeted. Shoot, Ben Shapiro should present Piers with a red jacket and Tricorner hat at the conclusion of their next interview.

  • Joe W.

You are the sort of clown the NRA hopes to avoid as a member, sonny.

    • Sons Thunder

I’m sure they would take my money if I offered it.

      • Joe W.

They don’t take “EBT” cards, Sonny.

        • Sons Thunder

How you enjoying your Medicare D plan, Joe?

I’m 36 years old. I grew up on a farm. My dad farmed and my mom was a teacher. I have worked in a slaughterhouse, doctor’s offices, a medical library, and more. I put myself through college, bought a 10-acre tract of land in Missouri and built a cozy, little house there with my wife.

I lost her to breast cancer 4 years ago. I lost my heart and soul to a vicious disease. Because we both worked our tails off, we had excellent private insurance. She, like me, put herself through school and she graduated bald because she was on chemotherapy at the time.

After Christine died, I moved to Oklahoma because I couldn’t bear to feel her absence in that house everyday. It was completely new to me but I threw myself into the oil and gas industry, have done fairly well for myself and am currently studying for the LSAT because I think I could make some great money and enjoy my work. I like the people in this industry and I like the people I meet. Some of them are Democrats. Some Republicans. Usually, I don’t know and don’t care.

So — ha ha on your “EBT” statement you ugly, hateful old man and enjoy that prescription drug plan, Joe. About $1500 a year for nothing, right? Who do you think is going to pay for that? Maybe the NRA will trade you a membership for some generic Lipitor.

          • Joe W.

1.) Those that feel the need to brag about their success, usually are failures. 2.) Sorry about your wife. I lost my wife of 23 years to breast cancer 2 and a half years ago. Used all my insurance up, got cancelled, lost my house, my job and all of my possessions. But, with the grace of God and His Son, Jesus Christ, I have moved on with my life and prospered in my new “digs” here in Texas. I’m 64 years old, retired, and have NO Medicare and NO insurance, Sonny. I’ll do just fine taking care of myself, too. Don’t need or want Barack Obama’s “health care” or anything to do with him or any of you vermin maggot liberals. So y’all can continue to mock, hate, and deride real Americans, as you go about chasing your dollars and touting your vapidly stupid, “progressive” ways. Call me hateful if you wish. I DO hate liberals. Y’all are the scourge of the nation, and I consider you the enemy.

          • Sons Thunder

I’m sorry to hear about your wife as well. I’m not going to argue with you anymore. Peace.

          • Calcat36

After what you claim that you have been through and have lost, you would/should be more humble if it were true. Yet you antagonize and agitate good people here. Would Christine be proud of what you type? The hatred with which you type it?

To what end? The First Amendment goes BOTH ways regardless of what you consider to be polite or not. When a liberal tries to take a God given right away, that liberal deserves everything that comes his or her way.

The Declaration of Independence demands that we maintain personal weapons should the government become tyrannical and the Second Amendment is the guarantee against government oppression. They go hand in hand. When liberals become so emboldened to limit a God given right, they are WRONG.

If your loss is genuine, accept my condolences. Please stop attacking people here that disagree with you. Present your opinion and rebut the response. Name calling does no good.

      • http://www.theconservativevoices.com/ dmacleo

doesn’t freedom of speech really suck?
we need to stop those types of statements.
I eagerly await your proposals to silence people like this.

        • http://www.theconservativevoices.com/ dmacleo

huh my reply was supposed to be to the first post, somehow ended up here while the first now shows as deleted.

      • Conservativesniper

I would to, but when you start running your mouth insulting all the law abiding citizens who also belong, I’d give you your money back and set you on your way. Membership is not irrevocable.

  • FreedomFighter

Musket Morgan is only there to irritate law abiding gun owners. He and his goons will try to provoke a verbal fight in hopes it will escalate.

    • Conservativesniper

Maybe, but all he is doing is trying to generate attention for his practically bankrupt network. Soledad O’Brien has been let go. If Piers audience dwindles some more he may be gone as well. Please ignore this despicable foreigner.

  • kenai

Someone should remind Musket that during WWII when Uncle Adolf came a’knocken on the British door it was the British who came hat in hand to US citizens begging for guns to arm their home guard. Through a program put together by the NRA, US private citizens loaned thousands of their guns to the British with only a handful ever being returned. Fat chance of the NRA, US gun owners or the 2nd amendment ever getting a word of thanks from that snotty wanker, Morgan.

  • MrApple

Wow, pot calling the kettle black!

  • $29561723

If Piers’ show gained as many new devotees as the NRA has in the last month, he’d be the most popular show on cable tv. Tells you something, huh Piers?

  • http://www.facebook.com/txngent Randy Davis

Piers is still trying to get out from under Simon Cowell’s shadows. It did not work with “America’s Got Talent”, and it has not worked with his “talk show?”. The only reason he has jumped on gun control is to make ratings.

  • bonnieblue2A

More projection from the left. Wish twitchy would stop giving Piers Morgan publicity. The best payback it to make his azzhattery irrelevant by ignoring him.

  • $35072932

Can we just come out and say it: Piers ‘Musket’ Morgan is a moron.
Take a look at the definition:

    Definition of TYRANNY
1: oppressive power every form of tyranny over the mind of man — Thomas Jefferson; especially : oppressive power exerted by government the tyranny of a police state
2a : a government in which absolute power is vested in a single ruler; especially : one characteristic of an ancient Greek city-state
b : the office, authority, and administration of a tyrant

Note that this is from the aspect grom a government, NOT the people.

To paraphrase: Me thinks doth Piers projects to much!

    • Calcat36

Tyranny. Isn’t that why we left the land of the crown in the first place? What the hell is musket doing here other than propaganda for the life he left behind?

      • $35072932

Yeah, and they don’t want him back – our illegal immigrant problems begin with pretentious know-it-alls from across the pond.

        • Calcat36

Yes, they sure do. Marty Bashir is another one. If they love thier homeland laws, they should GO BACK THERE.

          • $35072932

They can’t it’s too dangerous there – the innocent have been disarmed and the Criminals and the Government have the guns.

    • Conservativesniper

Methinks Piers doth protest too much. Nice try though and morgan is just trying to drum up publicity for his show before he’s sent packing, like Soledad O’Brien.

  • Steve_J

Rather large protest? I guess it might be if he’s judging by the crowds that Sandy Fluke draws.

  • Gaines Bruce

The tyrants here are those trying to take our constitution rights away from us. You are correct in noticing that it makes us mad as Hell.

  • TocksNedlog

Gee, it’s almost like I’m making my point with jokes or something.
