Ann Romney to run for Senate? Haters start their engines

With John Kerry becoming Secretary of State, Republicans are hoping to pick up his senate seat.

One of the names that has been floated around is Ann Romney. Predictably, intolerant lefties began spewing hatred toward the former first lady of Massachusetts.

It’s just what they do.

I especially liked the comment on how she never worked a day in her life. That didn’t seem to be much of a disqualifier for His Imperial Presidency.

    • Garth Haycock

Remember, progressives believe that nothing a progressive does is considered a negative. In Obama’s case, his inexperience meant that he was not conditioned to do anything wrong; he would be able to be objective because he had no prejudices learned from experience.

      • CatHerder

That’s the problem with having a fresh, open mind. Other people tend to put their trash in it.

Obama was employed for years pre-political life, and then in politics. Did Ann have employment?

      • Catchance

Employed… doing what? As a ‘Community Organizer’, a made-up name to sound better than ‘rabble rouser’? As a state senator (which he won by getting sealed records of his opponent released and printed) and then as a U.S. Senator (which he also won by smearing his opponent, getting sealed records miraculously unsealed and printed) by voting ‘present’ each time? He’s never ever held a job in which an employer required that a profit be made. He doesn’t understand the concept.

        • tifosies

He was a community organizer through the Catholic Church, associate at 3 law firms, taught at the UnivofChicago, IL State Senator 97-04, US Senator 05-08..

          • Catchance

No, it was the Campaign for Human Development, via ACORN which was funded through unsuspecting Catholics. He was an associate at a law firm for 3 years, and then a lecturer at Chicago Law School. It’s possible that he did have to show a profit at the law firm… but nowhere else.

          • tifosies

The DCP was through ACORN? College prep and job training thru ACORN?
Your point about Obama vs Ann Romney employment is certainly going far afield :)

          • Garth Haycock

You’re strengthening Catchance’s argument and you don’t even realize it. Hilarious.

      • michael s

Isnt it interesting how a white stay at home moms’ lack of being employed outside the home, is equal to a black persons’ actual employment outside of the home.

Seriously, those are awful tweets?! Have you looked at comments on ‘any rw site’ about

    ~any female Democrat
    ~the First Lady???

    • Agent_Zeero

So, then it’s okay to make awful comments about Moochelle?

      • tifosies

        Very Rush.

        • Agent_Zeero

I’m sorry, what was the answer to my question? And what Rush song was I quoting?

          • tifosies

            That was a serious question?
If I was caught quoting Limbaugh, I’d deny it too :)

          • wwbdinct

Limbaugh did not create Moochelle. Just because he says it doesn’t mean that anyone’s quoting him. Thousands of people use that name.

          • Agent_Zeero

You assume I listen to Limbaugh. Yes it was a serious question. Either you are fine with derogatory comments about The First Grifter, or you aren’t. And if you are not, then you surely feel the same way about comments on Ann Romney. Otherwise you are a hypocrite

    • operanerd1986

True, these aren’t the worst comments I’ve ever heard. The most vile Tweets come whenever Sarah Palin says or does anything.

In fact, 1/29 tweet: “Michael K. Brodie @Justin_Awe @Gas8128 I wish #MichellObama would move! Back to her #ChicagoStreetCorner. Tricks are waiting as I type.”

    Nice….

    • Catchance

Yes, that’s a nasty tweet, and there are quite a few on the right who will say things like that. But I guarantee that for every mean or nasty tweet on the right there are 50 truly vile ones from the left. Go look at some of them against Ann Romney during the campaign…. or all the time against Sarah Palin. Ugh.
Calling the First Lady a hooker is terrible, but not nearly as vile as the ones wishing that Ann would be sodomized.

      • tifosies

Agreed that it’s both sides, but if you think comments like your last sentence is only from the left, you’re not paying attention. 50:1? Is that documented anywhere?

        • thtroll

          Documented above. hehe

          • tifosies

The few tweets above that were nowhere near as vile as the one I found? Want to find more? Look on any article about Michelle Obama or any Dem female on theblaze (hint: hundreds)

          • Catchance

Ummm… nope, I went on The Blaze as you suggested, and surfed around for awhile… found one vile one on Gloria Steinem… the rest were obviously against her statement re Perry, but weren’t vile; not even hateful, actually. I can’t, however, document my “50:1” statement without spending hours which I’m not willing to do, so I’ll just give it to you. There’s bad ‘uns on both sides of the aisle.

          • tifosies

Sometime, if you’re inclined, look under “Flotus” headings. Your and my definitions of “vile” may be different :)

  • rinodino

By all means please pretty please run Ann!!! with sugar on top!!!

  • Christopher

Disgusting that people see fit to demean and insult a woman who has struggled so much in life. She has never done or said anything offensive to anybody and she never ran for political office. The level of hatred directed toward Mrs. Romney really goes to show what kind of lowlifes populate the American left.

    Ann for Senate!

  • Noelle C Campbell

    Go Ann! DO IT!!
