Attorney Gayle Trotter of the Independent Women’s Forum headed to Capitol Hill this morning to hitch up her skirt and fight like a girl for women’s right to defend themselves and their families. Speaking at the senate’s gun-grabbing hearing, Trotter explained that “guns make women safer” and “are the great equalizer during a violent confrontation.”
Bonus: Trotter sent progressives into a pearl-clutching tizzy.
LaPierre is here, but Gayle Trotter is the one causing the most whispered convos in the crowd at the gun violence hearing—

Here’s a taste of her testimony:

"Guns make women safer" -Gayle Trotter, yep, see previous tweet about Great Britain rapes vs America #guns—

The previous tweet Pavlich mentioned:

Uh oh. Not a pesky fact!
"guns are the great equalizer during a violent confrontation"—

Trotter testifies "Young women are speaking out as to why AR-15 are the gun of choice." Says they're light and accurate.—

Trotter testifies that women prefer the "scary" assault weapons to defend themselves if someone attacks their homes.—

But women shouldn’t be seen or heard unless they’re embracing victimhood and griping about lady parts woes. MSNBC made sure of that:
.@msnbc's #waronwomen: didn't show Gayle Trotter testifying. She's pro-gun rights, pro-women using guns for self defense.—
Ken Shepherd (@KenShepherd) January 30, 2013
HuffPo’s Sam Stein and Media Matters tool Oliver Willis seethed with derision and contempt for Trotter’s views.
In Gayle Trotter's world, a mom has a bottle of milk for her child in one hand and an AR-15 w/ a high capacity clip in another. just in case—
Sam Stein (@samsteinhp) January 30, 2013
"guns make women safer" someone actually believes this, in 2013. boy.—
Oliver Willis (@owillis) January 30, 2013
More media whining:
Gayle Trotter, speaker of all women, apparently: "Of course" women would follow laws if we banned high-capacity gun magazines.—
jennifer bendery (@jbendery) January 30, 2013
The gun-grabbing audience also scoffed at Trotter. If her testimony was in favor of gun control, the media would report this as “heckling.”
The women in the audience protested loudly and laughed when Gayle Trotter said she speaks for women who want guns for defense.—

Anti-gunners in the room literally laughing at loud at women who like their AR-15s to defend their children in their homes. #guns—

Gayle Trotter heckled by clearly liberal members of audience as she argues AR-15s are good for women and that she reps millions of women—

Spectators noisy for first time – women in the crowd murmur "not true" as Gayle Trotter says she represents millions of women who want guns.—
Rebecca Kaplan (@RebeccaRKaplan) January 30, 2013
But instead, Emily Miller’s response will be portrayed as heartless, despicable heckling of kind and loving souls exercising their First Amendment rights:
I accidentally yelled out — "she speaks for me" — when the women protested. My fellow reporters looked horrified.—
Emily Miller (@EmilyMiller) January 30, 2013
No pro-gun testimony is complete without a little Twitter heckling from the vagina gallery:
WTF? Senate DEMOCRATS hold hearing with woman saying guns make women safer"?!!! This is our representative for women's voices? #GunControl—
CODEPINK (@codepink) January 30, 2013
Guns do NOT make women safe. A demilitarized society does!! #guncontrol—
CODEPINK (@codepink) January 30, 2013
who the hell is this woman at Senate hearing who says she represents millions of women who want assault weapons??? craziness #guncontrol—
CODEPINK (@codepink) January 30, 2013
Let’s let non-Julia Katie Pavlich have the last word on that:
U do realize @codepink that u don't represent all women w/ your vagina costumes right? 1/2 of women, millions, like their guns & AR-15s.—
Katie Pavlich (@KatiePavlich) January 30, 2013
And once again, the War on Women is coming from the Left.
