Sen. Chuck Grassley declares US meat safe, applauds Japan for accepting our beef

It’s one small step for international relations that might have gone unnoticed if not for Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley and his mad tweeting skills. Admit it: when Grassley says, “Our beef is safe,” you believe him.

Yes, he is a real U.S. senator, although some of his more outrageous Twitter missives make you wonder if he really belongs on Capitol Hill. Check out this craziness from earlier today:

WOW…that last one is an EXTREME view probably put into his mind by those racist Tea Partiers (sarcasm!).

  • Phil McMorrow

If Clara Barton were alive, she would have asked Japan “Where’s the beef?”

I love Sen. Grassley, but darnit, didn’t he just vote Lurch in today? miffed.

I’m fed up with most all of them-what in hell took EIGHT years to get Japan to pull it’s head out of it’s ass?

Japan will not eat American beef because of the chemicials and I don’t blame them. They also won’t import American cigarettes made in the USA but imports American cigarettes made in Germany due to the chemical content.

Miki, I’m born and raised on a Montana cattle ranch (148 years in business)-one that does NOT use hormones or any sort of “chemicals” Many cattle ranches don’t use anything-so please don’t use generalities.

Miki, I’m Montana born and bred. My family has raised beef cattle for 4 generations-and most ranchers will not use hormones or other “chemicals” as you state. The Japanese simply late dealing with foreigners of any sort and use anything they can think of to get a better price. speaking of chemicals, try testing some of their milk-enough hormones in it to make a seven year old go through puberty. They often don’t follow their own regulations that they will so quickly level on “gaijin”

Are people going to insist they take our eggs next? They have better eggs. They really shouldn’t.

Well, time to buy shares in the meat companies. Methinks they might jump.
