Zing! Charles Krauthammer delights Twitter users by naming his favorite liberal columnist

During an interview at the National Review Institute Summit Friday, Rich Lowry asked Charles Krauthammer to name his favorite liberal columnist. The hilarious answer? “David Brooks.”

OK, OK, there was more. Krauthammer clarified that Brooks is “not a liberal,” but rather “somewhere in the middle.” But that didn’t stop Twitter users from giggling.

Poor David Frum. Always the bridesmaid:

    Right-wing bubble humor. Cutting edge.

    • NCRelite

Not as cutting edge as jokes about Republicans and Christians

      • lainer51

and those pesky pro-lifers!! They are the worst to deal with.

    • TocksNedlog

Granted, not a ‘funny’ as a left-wing ad hom attack; but then, one shouldn’t tangle with an expert.

That’s why he’s called ,”The Hammer.”

Brooks is the toupee’-free version of Morning Joe Scarborough.

I know he was a psychiatrist, but he cuts like a surgeon.

Brooks famously said that he knew Obama was qualified to be President when he noticed the perfect crease in Obama’s pants.

With sincere apologies to East Coasters, this remains my perception of people who live there. Self-absorbed, self-important, and frankly dumb as jackasses, paying attention to everything except what matters to real human beings.

I know you’re not all this way, so could you please lower the profiles of the fools? Somehow?

LMAO Marcy….”Herding Cats” might be a little less malodourous, but none the less just as difficult….

East Coasters – and portsiders generally – remind me of those rats in the Skinner studies who spent all their time cleaning themselves: appearance-consciousness to the extreme. Of course, that appearance-consciousness extends well beyond physical appearance with portsiders. They are very politically correct in their every action and utterance. They’re the ones with the ribbons and the little suicide vehicles.

that was a classic, but only #2; #1 was Christina Matthews getting spittle up his leg, I mean er, tingle up his leg.

        spittle? You misspelled ‘urine’ :)

Brooks really is yesterday’s definition of a Liberal. Today’s Liberal is really a Leftist.

      • Karl H

Funny I knew and older guy out in California, he was a communist in the 60’s and when the party fell apart it flocked to the Democrat party who at the time was getting desperate for members. You see the racist Democrats lost big with the civil rights struggle that Republicans championed and so like the homely girl who just got dumped they took any and all who came to their door.

Todays Democrats are the original American communists and their progeny. It is not that the old guard Democrats were much different they had all the makings of the modern socialist/fascist Democrats, it’s just that the old guard Democrats were much more inclined to free markets sorta like the modern Chinese communists while this new generation of Democrat is more like the old Soviet Bloc communists.

Either way they are a culture of violence hatred and death, they worship destruction and bask in the blood of innocents. Wherever there is human tragedy you will find a Democrat not helping in any way what-so-ever, but just there to stump and hand wring and push another agenda.

As for the guy in Cali, he grew up and started thinking about how he was going to really change the world and he realized he had been part of the problem all along. There is nothing more glorious than a reformed Leftist.

Well said! Reminds me of Peggy Noonan’s Ronald Reagan foot worship:

I FIRST SAW HIM AS A FOOT, a highly polished brown cordovan wagging merrily on a hassock. I spied it through the door. It was a beautiful foot, sleek, perfectly shaped. Such casual elegance and clean lines! But not a big foot, not formidable, maybe even a little . . . frail. I imagined cradling it in my arms, protecting it from un-smooth roads.

The only thing it proved is that Obama’s dry cleaner is more qualified than Obama.

Brooks is just happy to be somebody’s — anybody’s — fave.

  • BeeKaaay

I thought he was his own favorite leftwingwacko columnist :)

I’m guessing that Krauthammer just got himself taken off Brook’s Christmas card list

  • 1azuce

That means Krauthammers favorite liberal tv host would be the Morning Joke Scarborough.

    Who’s your favorite liberal governor?
    Chris Christie
