A day after an estimated half-million people converged on a snowy Washington, D.C., for the 40th annual March for Life, around 3,000 citizens attended the Rally for Life in Austin, Texas. Gov. Rick Perry was on hand to speak and pledge his support to the unborn.

Of course, to the pro-life crowd, protecting the unborn somehow precludes caring for children after they’re born.

Men regret lost fatherhood. Touré, on the other hand? Not so much.

  • BeyondPolls

Texas needs to ban abortions which are performed because the baby has Downs syndrome.

    • 1SkepticalChick

      yeah, we’re working on that!

      • BeyondPolls

        Yay!

    • $36103485

The where would you get your governor’s?

      • BeyondPolls

What on earth are you talking about?

        • mike_in_kosovo

It was a vain attempt on his part to be humorous.

          • BeyondPolls

            It’s sooooo funny. Not.

          • $36103485

It is the Gov and former Gov of texas that are humorous except for the war in iraq thing.

          • $36103485

The war in Iraq thing, tanking the economy thing and the third thing…oops I forgot. Sorry.

          • mike_in_kosovo

So, your joke was as empty as your brain cavity? Typical.

          • $36103485

I have three things to refudiate your position. 1. I have a higher IQ than Bush and Perry combined yet just average intelligence. 2. Nothing is funny about unjust wars of choice that go on 10 years, cost 5,000 americans dead and over a trillion dollars. What was the third thing? I forgot…oops.

          • mike_in_kosovo

I have a higher IQ than Bush and Perry combined yet just average intelligence

Given the quality of your posts, I’d say the first part of the sentence is outright false and the second part sheer bragging – you’ve done nothing to convince anyone here except yourself that you even come up to below-average intelligence.

  • ERMERGERD

    To the one tweet:

Why is Rick Perry responsible for the parents who don’t want a child, screw, but are too stupid to use contraception?

    • $30158943

Because he screwed everyone in Texas.

      • KansasGirl

Na, he just doesn’t want people of your caliber to screw Texas.

  • http://ConservativeMom.net/ LoriGirl

Say what you will, but I love my Governor. God Bless Texas!

  • $30158943

There are three things Rick hates and its health care, education, and ….. ooops

    • 1SkepticalChick

I’m a Texan, I’ve never had a problem with healthcare.
Oh, and I’m disabled now, after 17 years with a chronic illness.

    • KansasGirl

There is only ONE thing you hate, Turtle. FREEDOM! Pfffft.

      • $30158943

I love freedom that’s why I hate oppressive southern governor’s who want to impose their puritanical morals and corrupt business practices on me.

        • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

But you love the oppressive northern governors, mayors and legislators who DO impose their Stalinist morals and crony business practices into law.

Cuomo, Patrick, Bloomberg, Emmanuel, Durbin, Schumer, Mennino…..

          • $30158943

Give me one example, just one, that equates Democratic policies with Stalin. And it has to be authoritative, not just your wild imagination. Gulags? Farm collectives? Violent repression? Its going to be hard, but I’ll wait. Just because you learned a fancy word on the Internet doesn’t mean you have any notion of what it means.

          • beebop1952

See, here’s the thing dipstick … we aren’t here to do your BIDDING.

          • $30158943

Because you got nothin’ I understand.

          • beebop1952

            Because you dont understand nothin’.
            There. Fixed it for you.

          • mike_in_kosovo

Just because you learned a fancy word on the Internet doesn’t mean you have any notion of what it means.

You mean like your little screed above? As usual, you exemplify what you rail against.

          • $30158943

You don’t have a clue either. Baggers call Obama Stalin and then can’t cite a single example. Pretty impotent.

          • mike_in_kosovo

Says the person whinging about ‘oppressive southern governors’.

And yes, your arguments *are* pretty impotent.

          • KansasGirl

FDR’s EO 9066 mandated on 2-19-42 for the internment of Japanese nationals.

          • $30158943

So you had to go back 75 years to come up with an example? Boy, Obama is just like Stalin isn’t he?

          • KansasGirl

You asked for just “one” example…it’s gotta suck that is was your other idol…FDR.

          • $30158943

Hardly, long dead before either Obama or I were born. So the entire bagger meme that Obama is a stalinist is based on an event from 75 years ago? Are all your diatribes just as weak?

          • KansasGirl

Soooo, because you and “dear leader” weren’t born yet, history is irrelevant?
Here’s another history lesson for your lack curiosity…it was a Democrat President that dropped the atomic bombs on Japan…Mr. Harry Truman.

          • $30158943

And Alexander the Great invaded the Indian subcontinent, what does that have to do with Obama supposedly being a Stalinist? Its like debating a meth addict or a two year old. Don’t bother replying, I won’t be you are an utter waste of time.

          • KansasGirl

            lol

        • KansasGirl

I want the freedom to have morals.
As far as corrupt business practices being forced on me (and all taxpaying citizens), I give you…Abound Solar, Beacon Power, Ener1, Energy Conversion Devices, Evergreen Solar, Mountain Plaza, Olsen Crop Services, Range Fuels, Raser Tech, Solyndra, Spectrawatt and Thompson River Power, all failed and bankrupt.
Guess who is left with the check? Yep, the working taxpayers.

          • $30158943

Just as long as they are your morals right? The DOE green loans defaulted at a lower rate than general businesses in the economy, that is not corruption on the scale of Rick Perry’s pay to play scam http://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/state-politics/20101003-perry_s-tech-fund-aided-firms-with-ties-to-his-donors.ece

          • KansasGirl

What other morals would I have but mine?
Also, why should working taxpayers underwrite DOE green loans that default, then be stuck with the bill?

          • $30158943

Because I didn’t elect you or your puritanically skewed morals to be imposed on me. If you are just learning that the government subsidizes loans (have you heard of student loans for example) to encourage certain behaviors than you are clearly more naive and poorly informed than even someone from Kansas should be.

          • KansasGirl

That is where you and me disagree…I don’t think the government should be anywhere near our children’s education, let alone forcing taxpayers to subsidize their student loans. Just another bubble that we’ll have to pay for when it deflates.
As far as encouraging behavior, my family is the only people that I listen to, not you or any government authority.
Last, but not least, if you ever called me a “bagger” to my face (like you have done to other people on this site), I’d show you what for, punk. PS, don’t bother responding, I’m sick of playing nice.

    • beebop1952

What? Is the new democrap position allegations without substantiation? How about those five illegal gun murders in Chitown over the weekend? And their mayor is such a COMPASSIONATE guy, right?

  • CR

To all those twitter commenters who say complain that they are “on their own” once they are born, I have a really, really crazy idea. Stay with me here. Maybe…. maybe… their PARENTS could support them.

Wait, what’s that, you can’t afford to be a parent? Well how about use some birth control or some self control and don’t get pregnant.

Oops, sorry, I forgot that would require having personal responsibility which is out of fashion in the “Lena Dunham” generation. Carry on killing babies and depending on the government to support the ones that don’t get murdered, it’s the new American Way.

  • 1SkepticalChick

Yes! That’s our stand up Governor! Whoop!!

  • Tim George

see how this goes over,,, TEXAS SUCKS,,, BOOMER SOONER!!! he he, no really I like your state and your Governor

  • $36103485

There are only 3 reasons abortion should be legal. 1. The life of the Mother. 2. Rape. What’s the third one? I forgot…oops.
