Democratic Nevada Assemblyman Steven Brooks, who was arrested last weekend for allegedly threatening to shoot Speaker-elect Marilyn Kirkpatrick, has been taken by police for a psychological examination under Legal 2000, which allows forced hospitalization for up to 72 hours where mental illness is suspected.

The Las Vegas Sun’s Anjeanette Damon confirms that a sword was involved in the family disturbance which led to Brooks’ hospitalization.
Metro source CONFIRMS, as @RalstonReports has tweeted, that Brooks has been detained by police for a psychiatric evaluation.—
