Crickets: Sen. Kerry makes ‘Godfather’ joke at confirmation hearing; Only media laugh

Groan. Senator John Kerry made an awkward “joke” at the start of his Secretary of State confirmation hearing this morning.

Members of the media valiantly tried to make it appear funny.

Er. Most don’t agree; the alleged joke totally falls flat.

Heh.

Awkward!

That Kerry, he’s such a funny guy. The only thing funnier would have been seeing him get wounded in the butt by a piece of rice. “Reporting for Duty”

    What was the joke?

John Kerry walked into a bar, with a sausage under one arm, and a poodle under the other…(paraphrased from the 1980’s ‘Brat Pack’ movie, “The Breakfast Club”)…

John Kerry is a joke, a bad one.

Kerry “cried” when talking about his dad being in foreign service. Too bad he wasn’t able to cry over the accusations of war crimes that he leveled against every American that served honorably in Vietnam.

Love you, Twitchy, but shouldn’t you have included the joke in this reporting? Telling us it’s lame is fine, but letting us read it would be better.

What’s with all the fake crying in this administration? Does that really convince some people? They are doing it so much it’s in-your-face ridiculous. False emotions from a duplicitous leadership. Rich…

Maybe the mob squad can put him on their list as well.

Doesn’t matter what he says, he could lay a big steamy turd on the floor and he will still get the job.

I just hope someone has the balls to ask this “thing” why his “honorable discharge” was dated when Jimmy Carter was Prez.

like this…. all of those politicians that you carry around in your pocket, like so many nickels and dimes.

First quote I thought of! Or – I’m gonna make you all an offer you can’t refuse.

…and pennies…and didn’t someone in government recently say that they wanted to get rid of pennies?

      • SJ’s Dad

uh, no , , , JP was sticking with the Godfather theme, incidentally well played sir and TOTALLY apropos!

        • $36544368

You missed my point…I personally don’t care for John Kerry one bit, so I equated him to being a penny (since Mr. Phillips mentioned politicians being like nickles and dimes in one’s pocket). It reminded me that someone in government (sorry I can’t remember who) once said that we should get rid of pennies. Ergo, if John Kerry is a penny, and we get rid of pennies, then we don’t have to deal with John Kerry…sorry you didn’t see my big reach there.

          • SJ’s Dad

Saw your “Big Reach”, you just missed the point of the entire thread . . .
            . . . Lines from Godfather:
JP quoted from Godfather 1 Verbatim, you added extraneous material which wasn’t there.

Never saw any of the “Godfather” movies…sorry :-( I must plead ignorance regarding the movie and the famous lines from it. Correction noted.

I’m surprised the forward thinking progressives will allow such a rich man into the Obama administration. He’s worth much more than Mitt Romney. That’s not counting the vast fortune of his wife either.

How has he managed to accumulate such wealth? Where does he invest it? Has he paid his fair share?

I noticed John D Rockefeller IV is resigning when his current term is up. Now there’s an inconvenient truth for the demagogue democrats.

I would’ve liked to see them ask him “so, have you been doing much yachting?” or maybe “which country do you see yourself parking your yacht this year?”

    Where’s John Corsi?

Why is everything such a “joke” to the Democrats? Where is the respect of holding these offices? There is none! If Rice or any other Republican acted like Clinton as Secretary of State, it would be headline news. Would Rice had got away with taking shots of alcohol, or wearing goofy purple glasses while at a podium? When they don’t show respect for serving, then no one in this world is going to respect us.

This is the mentality of the elite the movers and shakers on planet earth. We all are doomed B/C of rich liberals, thinks everyone below them that their live’s are NOT meaningful.
