‘Thank you, mom’: On Roe v. Wade anniversary, Twitterers thank mothers for choosing life

Forty years ago today, the Supreme Court legalized the killing of the unborn. Over 55 million lives have been snuffed out since. That makes it all the more remarkable that so many of us are here today, and we’re so grateful to the women who made that possible:

Twitterers are doing just that:

Thank you, moms.

My mother didn’t face any objections to my conception, but I’m still glad I’m alive! =)

Think of how different things would be if some people hadn’t been born. What if Steve Jobs’ mother had made a different decision? Not to mention many others…

    • bluechimera

Yeah, just think how the world might’ve been different if Stalin’s mother hadn’t had him. What a shame…

      • ZoriahShepard

Yeah, I don’t think that bolsters the pro-abortion argument at all.

  • Matthew Morris

Mom was told I was a ‘risky pregnancy’. Fortunately abortion wasn’t an option in 1971, so I’m here to vex the libs today :-)

One of my mother’s co-workers says his mom was told to abort him simply because she was older(I believe in her mid-to-late 30’s). My mother was in her early 30’s when she had me. And Tim Tebow’s Mom had a risky pregnancy with him, too. =)

I thank my mom, too , although abortion was not legal when I was born. I also want to thank a friend of mine who has raised his child alone and did not give in to abortion’s siren call.

  • bluechimera

I’m glad my mother chose to have me. But, more than that, I’m glad she had a choice! Thank you, Roe v. Wade, for empowering my mom to make that choice! Without you, Roe v. Wade, the government would’ve made that choice for her.

    • Zanshi

Abortion wasn’t illegal before Roe v. Wade. States had their own laws regarding it. But wait, you’re telling me that you would have accepted your fate if your mom chose to abort you? I find that hard to believe.

    • orringtonmom (D)

that ranks right up there with “happy birthday roe v wade! we got you a cake!” on the stupid scale.

    • lainer51

and thank YOU for allowing ME to pay for your mother’s choice… Get real!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always want to ask vacuous liberals who whine, “I just want abortion to be safe, legal and rare,” if there’s nothing wrong with getting an abortion, why should they be rare?

    • BeyondPolls

That’s why they dropped ‘rare’ from the DNC platform.

I’ve adopted three kids from foster care. One was born to abusive, drug-addicted parents. One was born to an unmarried, unemployed homeless woman. One was born to alcoholic parents and an abusive father.

I always ask liberals, “Which of my sons would you have killed in the womb?”

    • orringtonmom (D)

i love when pro-“choice” people say, “you prolifers only care about the babies before they’re born. you don’t give a damn about them after.” i usually ask how many they have adopted, because I adopted two. what? zero? i guess i win 2-zip.

Thirty six years ago my mom chose life for me. Twenty eight years ago another woman chose life and my family was blessed (through adoption) with a baby boy. So thankful.

  • ZoriahShepard

I have an aunt who has had 8 abortions. Now she can’t have children even though she wanted to. Go Roe. 😐

Thanks Mom, for having me, and my 2 half brothers who were given up for adoption. See? There’s a choice for you.

    • BeyondPolls

There are many more stories like this out there :”(

  • Chip

50 Million murdered babies and counting. Some anniversary to celebrate, huh?

    • orringtonmom (D)

our state capitol threw a party… with birthday cake. not lying.

  • smb04d

My mom didn’t want me, but my lovely daddy (Who is still around) did! He had a choice…just like every birth father! I’m glad he made the choice to keep me around. I know he wouldn’t be the same!

Anyone still confused as to the difference between Conservatives vs. pREgressives? The former, grateful for LIFE. The latter, legislating death (and making YOU pay for it).
