Groupon panders on guns; Second Amendment supporters walk away

Leftists are crowing over coupon giant Groupon’s decision to end all “gun-related deals,” including training and education.

Word is spreading across social media. Gun owners and Second Amendment supporters are responding to the company’s pander by walking away.

Better than being a cheerleader for tyranny like you & the rest of the vile progs.

  • emjem24

Of course they did!!! It’s fun to hate on on people who want to simply protect themselves, not shoot up a classroom. Anyway, Groupon needs all the help they can get with their iffy leadership, concept, and product.

Ya mean Groupon is more than just ad spam? Never used ’em anyway…

Me neither. I plan to send them a message letting them know why I’ll never sign up for their pathetic service, to go along with everyone else who is dropping them like a hot potato.

i was thinking that groupon was on its last legs before this.

      • TomJB

They are. Turns out people don’t use their coupons as an inexpensive way to search for new places to go or things to do and eventually become regular customers of the advertised places. Nope, they just take the deal, use it once, and then move on to the next one so the establishment offering the deal loses money. Who’d’ve thunk it?

  • SineWaveII

hmmm I would say this is an affront to both the second and first amendments as well an affront to free-enterprise and commerce.

*Chuckle* One comment to that ThinkProgress article: “fascists don’t goosestep, nazis do.” Methinks she doesn’t understand that the Nazis WERE fascists. Some people have no understanding (of history nor anything else).

Here is the email I received from Groupon in response to deleting my account. Didn’t seem to bother them at all. Wonder how many consumers constitute “enough” to warrant a category elimination?

“Thank you for reaching out to us. We appreciate your feedback and take these inquiries seriously.

Gun-related deals, including shooting ranges, conceal-and-carry, and clay shooting, are on hiatus as we review our internal policies for the types of deals that we feature. Groupon has always aimed to offer deals driven by local consumer preference and request; at this time, enough consumers have asked us to eliminate the category that we believe a review is warranted. A decision has not yet been made.

Please note that all existing purchases for gun related Groupons are still valid and deals that were previously offered are not being canceled.

Per your request, I’ve unsubscribed this email address and deleted your account. You will stop receiving Groupon promotional emails within 48 hours.

Thank you again for contacting us and please let me know if I can do anything else to help.”

    Blah, blah, blah.
