Tolerance: CBS political director says Obama must ‘go for the throat’ and ‘pulverize’ the GOP

As we know, liberals are never satisfied. John Dickerson writes for, and he is the political director for CBS News. He penned his desire for President Obama to ‘destroy’ the Republican Party in his second term.

Here are some excerpts from Dickerson’s rant:

If he wants to transform American politics, he must go for the throat.

Obama’s only remaining option is to pulverize. Whether he succeeds in passing legislation or not, given his ambitions, his goal should be to delegitimize his opponents.

Pretty interesting language when you consider that the Left is always concerned with the ‘tone’ of the national dialogue.

  • AaronHarrisinAlaska

We’ve beaten the “new tone” argument to such a gruesome pulp that not even dental records can be used to identify it. It’s gotten to the point were they no longer care about it.

    • Joe W.

      They never did.

  • Love of Country

That’s right ….. there are no red states and blue states, no Republicans or Democrats ….. shame on me for questioning this great healer/leader of men.

And thank goodness for news outlets like CBS who only want to remain neutral and yet hold rogue, anti-American and/or Marxist politicians accountable for everything they say and do while on the job ….. the state of the union is well, no?

  • Gallatin

    CBS still exists?

  • michael s

Republicans started it the night of thr 09 inaugural ball.No issue with the statement.

    • carla5731

Of course you have no problem with the statement because you expect that “journalists” will exhibit extreme liberal bias while claiming to be objective.

    • Chevypowered

If this came from a Democrat, Democratic outlet fine that’s what they do but if you don’t see the issue from someone who works at a so called non partisan outlet saying something like this you have problems.

    • Corey Dennison

You should stay away from ploitical discussion…doesn’t seem to be your thing.

    • TocksNedlog

Really? “They started it”? How old are you — seven?

      • PennyRobinsonFanClub

What the hell is it even talking about?

  • $30423294

Oh you precious thing. The GOP has been trying to destroy itself since the end of Reagan’s presidency.

I assure you, we’ve not been successful. The fact that you think Mr. Obama has the skill to do it is charming. But it makes us giggle.

    Have another drink, small man.

  • flybwoy

There are about 55 million registered Republicans and about 72 million
registered Democrats. There’s a reason for that. Im glad that the GOP is slowly dying out

    • Love of Country

Without the GOP ….. who would pay the nation’s bills and hold crooks accountable?

Oh and BTW Scooter … that “reason” is primarily, if not wholly, due to the state run media. If everyone knew the reprehensible truth about Barack Owebamao’s past transgressions and future intentions then he never would have been elected or re-elected …. he could never surpass 47% of the vote ie the total number of the nation’s dedicated slackers and devout racists. And how does it feel to share the exact same political accumen as 99% of all nation’s felons who also wish death upon the GOP … that should be a wake up call for any man with a brain.

    • wwbdinct

What – no Independents? How about those who aren’t registered as either party, like myself? Got stats on those?

      • blueniner

No he doesnt, that would involve research……

      • TexSizzle

And those of in states where you don’t declare a party when you register? Texas is second largest in population and does not register by party, so our Republican majority is not included to counter-balance the number of registered Democratics from states where you have to declare. And I doubt that we are the only state where you do not have to declare.

    • stuckinIL4now

Who’d you get those stats from–Stephanocchio Cutter?

    • Corey Dennison

Yay for single-party rule! Right, comrade?
(You’re an idiot by the way)

    • blueniner

Spoken like a true Pinko=One party system, yeah, thats the ticket!

    • TocksNedlog

Yeah, you libs love dying things, don’t you?
Things like freedom, and the GOP — and babes in the womb . . .

    • PennyRobinsonFanClub

Clear the dead people and illegal immigrants off your rolls and you’d have a different perspective.

  • Terry_Jim

Not shocking at all. This has been CBS’ goal for the GOP since Cronkite’s days.

  • Corey Dennison

Remind us again why CBS is at the bottom of the network news cesspool in ratings…

  • daphnetaggart

Please observe the pathetic Hail Mary pass to try to save Slate from total obscurity.

  • TocksNedlog

Certainly, as a “news” director he possesses a soul full of integrity and impartiality.
Or, at least he did — before he sold it.

  • PennyRobinsonFanClub

They’re not even pretending any more, are they?

  • Alexander Ivan

John Dickerson (rhymes with asshole) is the Political Director at CBS who apparently has been left out of the loop and has never seen the memo leading to a news division that appears schizophrenic. Clearly lacking mental skills and a place to put them, he missd the message when Jeff Fager, CBS News Chairman and Preident David Rose just hired Condoleezzaa Rice to do political commentary.

  • Alexander Ivan

What does comment “being checked for moderation” mean?

  • Ruppert Baird

I don’t disagree. IF Obama could destroy the Republicans, perhaps a new party could emerge that truly represents the people on the other side. Republicans should admit who they are, merge with the Dems, thereby allowing the Libertarians, or the Tea Party to move into the position that Red Staters truly desire.
