Sarah Silverman gets help understanding why people don’t say ‘it’s a free country’ anymore

Wonder why that is, Sarah? Maybe it’s because liberals like yourself support candidates who take legislative measures that considerably restrict freedom.

We are letting socialism creep in, slowly but surely. The socialists control the language of debates, and make their ideas seem appealing, but America is slipping away.

“First we will take Eastern Europe; then the masses of Asia. Then we will encircle the United States of America, which will be the last bastion of Capitalism. We will not have to attack it; it will fall like an overripe fruit into our hands.”-Lenin

Yes, I know Lenin was a Commie, but the Communists will let socialism take over before taking power themselves.

    Bragging, Sarah?

  • Just Another Guy

It is the “Free Stuff” country. Not free by any means for those of us that work to support the “freeloaders.” Free food, room, board, electricity, health care, cell phone, transportation, etc. Heck, a freeloader gets more in benefits than most people make and definitely more than their net take home pay.

  • Purple State

What freedoms have been “considerably” restricted?

    • Joe W.

The freedom to not be forced to buy something you do not want, for starters.

      • Purple State

        You still have that.

        • Joe W.

BS. Why do I have to purchase Health Care Insurance??

          • Purple State

You don’t have to if you don’t want to. You may pay penalty instead. But if your employer covers your health insurance already, then you have nothing to purchase.

          • Joe W.

Making me pay a penalty is the same thing as making me participate in this “health care” scam, pal. And it is an erosion of my freedom. straight up.

          • Purple State

I wonder why the Supreme Court didn’t think so.

          • Joe W.

            So do I.

          • TocksNedlog

The Supreme Court didn’t ‘not think so’.
            The Supreme Court didn’t care.
They were NOT deciding the question of “Is this an erosion of our freedom?” They were ONLY deciding whether or not this particular erosion is legal.

          • Purple State

The Supreme Court was determining whether or not the individual mandate was Constitutional, and it is. Part of the question of the Constitutionality was whether the government can compel the individual to purchase a service — and they can as part of the taxing authority. So unless Social Security is also a considerable restriction of freedom, this doesn’t seem to qualify.

          • TocksNedlog

ANY time the government takes a portion of your income away from you at the point of a legally mandated ‘gun’ it is restricting freedom.
You can be deliberately obtuse all you want, but it’s not gonna get you anywhere. Within your response you acknowledge the governmemt’s authority to levy taxes. You know that this restricts freedom, yet you play it off as “if it’s constitutional, then it can’t be restricting freedom.” You are being disingenuous. You know that the Bill of Rights does not grant the citizenry unlimited freedom; it only restricts the government from infringing upon certain rights. Because, between the Executive’s power to regulate,
            the Congress’s power to legislate,
and the Judicial’s power to adjudicate
there are numerous freedoms that we can see being whittled away, bit by bit, every day.

          • mhojai

what a brain-dead moron …it’s like being “free” to rob banks if you don’t mind the jail term…
You have no concept of what freedom and libery actually are. You’re a perfect obamao tool

          • TocksNedlog

Yeah, this nation is just overflowing with companies that pay 100% of their workers’ health insurance premiums, ain’t it, buddy?

    • TocksNedlog

Your ability to think freely seems to have been restricted. Or, perhaps the blood flow to your noggin’ has been constricted.

      • Purple State

I’m still waiting for an example of a freedom that’s been restricted. If the Supreme Court has decided the individual mandate is constitutional, then it must not restrict freedom — or it would have been struck down. What’s a considerably restricted freedom?

        • TocksNedlog

See my response to your other post, above.

        • BushDidIt

I think I see where the fatal flaw in an Obot’s reasoning abilities lies.

“If it’s constitutional, then it must not restrict freedom”.

A loaded assumption if I ever saw one. Read what the Justices said. They basically threw their hands up and said it WAS an encroachment on freedom, but that wasn’t their department. They said if the American people want to elect leaders who do this to them, then they deserve to have their freedom restricted. Personally I think they should fight a little harder for the Stars and Stripes given their lifetime employment status, but they have a point.

I guess you probably believe that if you are in jail, it means you are a bad person too.

In order to separate the idea of the criminal justice system from right and wrong and constitutional liberties from individual freedoms, you need the kind of critical thinking skills that you don’t actually have but you and all your poseur friends think you have.

The Constitution does restrict freedom. It restricts the freedom of the government to do whatever they want to you currently, but your leaders are working tirelessly to make those restrictions apply to you instead of them

Makes a lot of sense to restrict the rights of those who hold no office to preserve the rights of those who do,huh? Don’t answer that, you’d probably agree that it does.

The freedom to fly on a privately owned airplane without first being subjected to a 4th amendment violating search.

  • Love of Country

Sarah Silverman is a talented idiot who will never grow up … part of our nation’s problem, not the solution she presumably imagines herself to be. Ever wondered what happened to morality, reverence, respect and decency in this country? Well just listen to coked-up meth-heads like Sarah Silverman whose uber foul mouthed rants and routines appeal mostly to vile, racist, Godless, America-hating, dope smoking slackers, yeah, that’s what’s going on around here. (yawn)

Gee… this is what happens when the Nannies want to manage every aspect of our lives… we can either be a “free country” free to make our own choices (even bad choices) or we have a nanny government dictating our lives… you can’t have both…

  • Stupid Republic

I don’t have time to say it’s a free country anymore because:

a.) I’m too busy working to pay for the freeloading class.

b.) I’m being vilified as a racist, bitter clinging, teahadist because I support conservative causes, own guns, carry concealed, and pay my taxes.

c.) I’m being vilified as the greatest threat to our nation because I oppose the Obama/Reid/Pelosi troika.

A Hispanic friend of mine once told me that illegal aliens were overloading the “free clinics” in Houston and taking all of the services to the point where they shut down. So it’s a “free country” – they are simply not saying it in English.

  • TocksNedlog

Go ask Gov. Cuomo for permission to go deer hunting with ten bullets, and then come back and tell me it’s a free country.

try opening a lemonade stand, small business, hiring a qualified person over someone who fits a”need”, practicing religious freedom, not having to join a union, not getting detained and searched at the airport. It’s a good thing we can smoke weed and get subsidized abortions, Freedom!
