NBC’s Chuck Todd: One must know where gun owners live; Meanwhile, burglars hit another house on Journal News map

We take it that Chuck Todd doesn’t subscribe to the Journal News, or he wouldn’t have to ask where gun owners live. Actually, he doesn’t even have to read the paper to find the names and addresses of gun permit holders. We suspect that Todd is simply asking which areas of the country house the “bitter clingers,” but is even that necessary to “understand” the gun debate?

Todd’s tweet about knowing where gun owners live showed a curious unawareness of the situation in New York’s Rockland and Westchester counties. One gun owner’s home outed by the newspaper already was burglarized earlier this week, with thieves reportedly trying to pry into the owner’s gun safe. And now another gun owner on the map has been burglarized, with two handguns reported stolen from his home.

As long as Todd is putting his skills as a journalist to work, perhaps he could track down the criminals who stole the firearms? That sort of information would be very welcome in understanding the gun debate.

To understand politics and political debate, one must know who the pundits are and where they live.

I’m sure Chuck Todd wouldn’t mind if his address was printed in his local newspaper.

who cares if he minds , someone needs to put it out there

      • Garth Haycock

The public has a right to know where Todd lives.

        • TEXANONLY

Also, where his entire family lives, he wants to put my family’s life in danger, he needs to feel the same thing.

I don’t even know what he is supposed to mean by that. Clearly he’s calling for the outing and shunning of gun owners. But what does he think we think he means?

  • Love of Country

I’d rather know who’s on the dole and how much they’re taking …. that way, neighbors can see and report on the libs who are fraudulently taking advantage of the tax payers.

And why don’t we paint every child/sex offenders’ mailbox bright orange so everyone will know who, what and where they are.

Chuck doesn’t want to do about those things nor does he want know where convicted rapists and killers live (he does but would never publicly admit it) … why would he knowingly harrass and embarrass his own base? That would require some degree of integrity, anyway. Derp.

    • Rick Weesner

For a list of who’s on the dole and how much they’re taking you could start with every web site that ends in .gov.

I am sure that publishing the names and addresses of Japanese-Americans in 1940-1941 would also have been part of an important national debate.

    • Joe W.

That’s not what happened. We rounded them up and put them in temporary prisons. If you recall, we were at war with Japan, idiot.

      • http://pennyrobinsonfanclub.net/ PennyRobinsonFanClub

“We” didn’t, the totalitarian wanna-be control freak Saint Franklin de` Roosevelt did that.

        • Joe W.

          I stand corrected….. :-)

  • Frustrated Teacher

Can’t publish the names of people carrying a deadly (and very preventable) disease…but gun owners? SURE! I have also noticed that the news reports MENTION that these people were on the list, but QUICKLY note that the crimes CANNOT be connected to publishing the list. Hmmmm…providing cover for the idiots? This WILL come down to a lawsuit eventually when someone on the list gets killed!

    • texaswc

How can they make such a lame claim? And who in their right minds believe such claims?? 2 home so far, 1 the thieves tried to get into the gun safe, the target was specifically guns…the second they stole guns, the target was specifically guns…obviously, OBVIOUSLY that is the common denominator, the common tie, that connects BOTH break-ins to the published list….it is plain as day! As for it being news reports – MEDIA – that lay this claim, well, we all know what the media is about….I am waiting for the first lawsuit to show up and am actually surprised it hasn’t happened already…regardless of MSM, the fatcs of both cases is enough to tie them both to the list and warrants a lawsuit against Journal and their parent company…

    • NachoCheese (D)

They need to be sued in Civil Court. Go for the money! That’s where it will really hurt and give pause to other gun grabber media outlets that would consider doing something like this where they live.

  • HARP2

I demand to know the address of everyone convicted of DUI. They could be dangerous to the general public.

  • Elena0412

As a sponsor, I should know where every welfare recipient lives.

Lets add some more details like when is the last time they worked, as they currently looking for a job, and how many times they voted for the same candidate. Remember Chicago politics, vote early and often.

  • Elena0412

Charles D. Todd, wikipedia and spokeo can narrow it down. Simple google searches.

  • TocksNedlog

Who owns guns? Well, 99.5% of legally obtained guns are owned by law-abiding citizens.
Where do they live? In every state in the nation, baby!

  • grais

How long before the Journal News has blood on its hands? And will it be the blood of children?

  • Harlan Hikaru Fox

And this is why they won’t even need the Feds to grab guns. They’re inciting thugs to volunteer themselves for the job.

  • carla5731

As long as we’re concerning ourselves with databases, maybe the federal government can actually start enforcing one of the laws currently on the books and tell us where all of the illegal immigrants are living. Unlike registered gun owners, illegal immigrants are not law-abiding CITIZENS!

  • usmccp

    What a douche-canoe

  • ClinkinKY

I used to think that referring to the media as the “Fourth Estate” was a Cold War thing. Getting mighty cold here in the USA lately.

    • $23629333

I use the term “Fifth Column,” when referring to the media.

  • BeyondPolls

Then we need to know where women who have had abortions live.

    • Edwina

Also, show where every person in Congress lives and if they own guns?

      • BeyondPolls

That would work too. Or mandate that the members of Congress who don’t own guns put up one of O’Keefe’s nifty signs. :p

Reminds me of Jesse Jackson’s outrage at GPS options that allowed drivers to avoid high crime areas . . . the claim was . . . wait for it . . . yes . . . of course . . . racist.

Can’t I have a gps option that would identify all the gun owner regions, so I know where I can safely drive? Obviously, those who wish to drive in neighborhoods WITHOUT any registered gun owners could use the option to seek them out . . . gee . . . I wonder what the overlap with the original high crime mapping is ?????

As a tax payer I need to know where all the people mooching off my hard work live. This way we can keep track of who actually needs assistance and who should get off their ass and work and pay taxes like I do.

  • ceemack

Better watch out, Chuckles. We’re everywhere.

  • Joe W.

Those who own the guns are Americans and they live in the United States of America. That’s all you need to know, UpChuck.

    • http://pennyrobinsonfanclub.net/ PennyRobinsonFanClub

      Bravo, sir.

  • Marc LoGrasso

I’m waiting for the first time one of these stolen guns is linked to a murder. Then, I’d like to see the news brought up on charges of accessory to the murder, since they let people know where to illegally obtain the weapon used in the murder.

  • stuckinIL4now

Gee Chuck, we clearly understand the leftist version of the gun debate. However, to curb gun violence, we need to know who possesses the illegal guns with the filed-off serial numbers and where the criminals and nutjobs live and hide out and commit their crimes (hint: south and west sides of Chicago for starters). Haven’t heard a single new recommendation from your “debate” or from the 23 Excremental Orders that addresses that issue directly. Most of those EOs come down on law-abiding gun owners and they’re not the problem, hard as you and your scumplicit slimestream media pals, Obamuh and the libturds try to blame them for it.

  • xsnipe

It is painfully obvious that there are far too many obliviously ignorant individuals involved in the firearm debate. They don’t know, care about or comprehend the context and content of the Second Amendment. They don’t know, care or comprehend the implications of the actions they support. They applaud the usurping of power while blindly following the ignorant hypocritical elitist with reckless abandon.

Listing the names and addresses of lawful permit holders/firearm owners in the media is reckless; of course those of us with the ability to think logically knew this before it was done by the editors and staff of the Journal News. They either didn’t care about the possible consequences to those on the list or were hoping to set them up as targets for robbery and harassment. One is asinine and the other is illegal as it makes them guilty of conspiracy and accessory before the fact. Either way they should be guilty of a crime because they should have known that their actions would facilitate crimes against those on the list.

This is what government regulation and registration gets you… victimized for lawful activity! Imagine, given the ineptness of the federal government apparatus, if there becomes a federal requirement for firearm registration. Imagine a published article, website or publicly accessible database dedicated to exposing all firearms owners across the nation.

  • RightThinking1

We can start by simply placing map blobs on Chicago, Detroit, L.A, D.C.

  • tiorbinist

    Oh how fun!

President Obama makes 23 Executive Actions (maybe they’re all EOs, but somehow CNN’s list doesn’t look like a lot of them need to be) exhibiting that he has no idea how to keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

The Journal goes a step further and demonstrates very efficiently how to move guns from the hands of law-abiding citizens into the hands of criminals.

Chuck Todd must not have gotten the memo.

  • Steve_J

I think one must know where F Chuck Todd lives in order to understand the future debate on free speech .

What an idiot. Not a coherent thought there.

  • Emjay Graykat

Todd isn’t an idiot, he knows exactly what he’s saying and why he’s saying and it has nothing to do with gun safety or gun violence. It’s about eliminating the second amendment.

  • GTFOBigGovt

No matter how much I seriously pretend to believe he believes those words he typed, they still make no sense in terms of his ability to make a serious case for why the LOCATION of someone has anything to do with the constitution. With a straight face.

  • https://twitter.com/davidjkramer DavidKramer

To understand the statists, we must have a complete list of all the leftists in the US and their addresses. I would also like GPS coordinates of all their front doors, they should have that at the Census Bureau.

  • Jesse Toler

The only reason why they would want to know who owns guns is so the confiscation can be better co-ordinated.

  • Stickville

what do you expect from a guy who’s background is the quasi-scientific field of “Polling”?

  • David Allen McKimmey

Chuck Todd….Understand the gun debate? Please! There is no debate. If you understand the situation you know there are people who believe in the Constitution and there are people who don’t. The 2A is about weapons…not “sporting guns” for shooting birds! My AR 15 is more the intent of the COnstitution than your old 20 gauge pump.

  • Ken Alan Draper

To truely understand the gun debate we must know where the anti-gun advocates are & where they live, also a detailed listing of all valuables & major electronics in the home.

I think the police reduced by a NY DA Cuomo who allows these murdering mental patients back on the streets who’s ultimate goal is to be President to one bullet carry Barney Fife’s “must” also forget FChuck Todd’s address in case of a break in..
FChuck Todd will have his new law for protection…

  • $23629333

The moment “The Journal News” published that information about the gun owners, each one of them should have invested in security protection. What we’ve seen was predictable.

    Dear Chuck,
You are as pathetic as ever. It is NONE of your damn business who owns a gun. If you weren’t so busy trying to be a member of the New Castrati, you would worry about such things. MAN UP!

Sorry—meant to say you would NOT worry

  • TitzyFritzensimmons

Given that our current crop of “journ0lists” are a far greater danger to the country than law-abiding gun owners, could Mr. Todd please publish a list of THEIR addresses- and their summer home addresses? It would be far more useful.
