Man with unloaded AR-15, loaded Glock shops at Utah J.C. Penney; Nothing happens

When we saw the following photo of a man openly carrying a rifle while shopping at a J.C. Penney in Riverdale, Utah, we were as shocked as anyone. Who still shops at J.C. Penney?

Cindy Yorgason snapped the photo, which is making the rounds of social media. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that the man pictured is 22-year-old Joseph Kelley, who said he was simply trying to demonstrate that guns are safe in the hands of law-abiding citizens.

According to Kelley, the rifle was an unloaded AR-15 and the handgun was a loaded Glock 19C. He said he has a concealed carry permit, is a former member of the military and contacted police dispatch before leaving his home to tell them about his plans. Kelley also said he was told that he was “well within his rights” and that bystanders’ reactions were positive.

“I felt no negative vibes from anyone,” Kelley said. “I think it went rather surprisingly well.”

Kelley might not have felt negative vibes in person, but there were plenty to go around on Twitter.

Well, one of President Obama’s 23 executive actions signed yesterday was to “launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.” Is simply carrying a legal, registered weapon in public a sign of “mental issues”? Or is it time for a national conversation on “gun phobia”?

  • Brad Donald

Im happy he is doing this. This is the kind of tactic the left uses for all their issues to push for civil rights. Why cant we do the same.

    • http://twitter.com/JenaPenya jena penya

This will make the Rwingers even more fringe. This is why some red states became blue states; VA both US senators are Dems, CO has 2 Dem. senators and a dem. governor plus Obama won both of them comfortably. Fringe party!

      • VL123

this will only make the leftwing nuts like u more rabid..

      • Roadbikeron

Wrong. Those seats went Blue because the demographics in both, particularly Colorado, changed in democrat favor. Opinions < facts.

        • WingedBishop

Dem candidates were carried by the coattails of marijuana legalization in Colorado.

        • V the K

No, the Democrats just have a sales pitch — “We’ll take money away from people you hate and give it to you” — that appeals to a certain class of voter.

          • WingedBishop

First they tell you who you’re supposed to hate.

      • SineWaveII

…and yet after the ’12 election the republicans control more states than democrats and Mitt Romney carried more congressional districts than Obama did. That’s why the repubs held their majority in the house. In the latest map there are more states leaning red and no red states that are leaning blue.
As for Va. You have to remember that NoVa is an industry zone like Detroit or Pittsburgh. The difference being that the industry in NoVa is Defense. Obama is about to derail Va’s gravy train and blow it up.
We’ll see how popular he is after that.

        • V the K

If the “Winner Take All” states divided their electoral votes like Maine and Nebraska, it would be a very different stories. Most states go blue based solely on corrupt, Democrat-run urban areas like Chicago, Philadelphia, and Cleveland. If states proportioned their electoral votes, Democrats would have a much tougher time.

          • SineWaveII

            No doubt

          • Insubordinate

Nebraska is also the only state to adopt a Unicameral (one legislative chamber). The advantage being a much simpler legislative process, efficient lawmaking, reduced costs, and no possibility of legislative deadlock. Imagine that.

          • Lienathan

Sometimes the unicameral model comes into question because the lawmaking process is a little too ‘easy’. in Nebraska the “people’s house” is the referendum process. The problem is that the Unicameral keeps trying to make the petition process more difficult every chance they get. We also term-limited our Senators a few years back and there are a portion of the political class in the State that have been fighting it ever since.

          • Matthew Morris

Agreed. Ohio went red, except for the three Cs (Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati) and for some reason Muskingum County. I’m all for per district appropriation of the EC.

          • edward

Per district? So a district that has 2 million people gets the same representation as a district that has 20,000 people? Cute.

          • V the K

I see someone failed high school Government.

          • edward

The election wasn’t close this time. Obama won both pop vote and elec college.

      • Garth Haycock

You’re correct, Obama won the states controlled by the fringe party. Kudos for admitting it.

      • http://pennyrobinsonfanclub.net/ PennyRobinsonFanClub

Better to be “fringe” and right than “mainstream” and a thundering idiot. Facts are not subject to majority vote. PS — Col. has always been pretty left, it’s notorious as the California of the Rockies.

        • http://www.vatican.va/ Rulz

Are you kidding? Rasmussen did a poll finding that 3 out of 4 Americans believe the second amendment means you get a gun.

          Who’s on the fringe now?

      • $2942628

You do realize that Joe Manchin shot a hole through the “cap and trade” bill?

I understand your thought process but those “D’s” are really “R’s” and some “R’s” are really “D’s”

It’s gets complex depending on the issue and the potential payoff.

      • http://www.vatican.va/ Rulz

        (laughs)

First of all, Obama won VA 51-47 and CO 51-46. if that’s a blowout, I’d love to hear what you’d have to say about Reagen.

VA is a more of swing state because all the government workers and lobbyists can’t stand the high crime, regulation and lack of freedom in blue Maryland and DC.

Secondly, the only reason Hickenlooper won CO was because Tom Tancredo ran in the ACP party and still nearly won. There is strong evidence to suggest that the Senate race with Bennett was influenced by voter fraud.

Also, how do you explain that WI, PA and NH have a republican senator?

Third, democrats, including union workers and minorities own guns.

        Over-reach at your own risk.

        GOP 2014.

        • Underwater

The only way I can explain that WI, PA and NH have a Republican senator is stupidity. How can a state vote for a democratic president and a Republican Senator? Will someone please explain that to me? And, and………, I bet if you spoke to those people they would complain about government deadlock.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/BJIYHAFMPPQYUA6GDDWA3AGFBE David

No Jenna it was the illegal immigrants and voter fraud that made these states turn blue. Nice Try. You liberal douche!

A Rosa Parks for gun rights in the 21st Century.

      • V the K

One could argue that if I don’t really *need* an AR-15, Rosa Parks didn’t *need* to sit in the front of the bus, either. (Props to @H2)

        • Patsplacepp

@twitter-4487301:disqus Human Rights vs Gun Rights…yeah I’m thinking the Human wins hands down..but good try. • http://www.vatican.va/ Rulz

Thumbs up Brad, but please be careful about crediting the left with civil rights.

      1) Elizabeth Cady Stanton was arrested for voting entirely republican
      2) In the 1950s ,the democrats led by JFK, LBJ and a host democrat KKK members blocked IKE from issuing a civil rights act
      3) More republicans than democrats supported civil rights
      4) Woodrow Wilson threw people in jail who didn’t agree with us going into WWI
      5) Andrew Jackson’s big government policies were devastating to Native Americans

Finally, what the left often describes as “civil rights” is usually code for entitlements.

      • edward

right != republican, especially not in the 19th century and early 20th century

          • fmahoney

Two very smart girls you should be proud they can think for themselves and not allow the idiots at Fox news to brainwash them

          • jetch

@fmahoney: anyone who makes the blanket statement “he wouldn’t do that” about a president is an idiot! power corrupts, as a leftist you should know that, your side came up with that slogan!!!

the argument that fox news brainwashes people is not only untrue, but it’s also lazy. chronic unemployment, fast and furious, proven lack of transparency, benghazi, etc. those aren’t fox news lies. you’re so invested in your savior barack that you can’t or won’t open your eyes to the truth. it’s sad…

          • fmahoney

Do a little home work and find out what caused the chronic unemployment when Obama arrived. Obama did not start Fast & Furious but he ended it! He is not perfect but when compared to the last press & Vice press he is an angel! One stupid lie and a war has caused more dead men & women, Economic burden for the USA & division in our foreign policy. Now you idiots don’t even want to pay for your wars. Want grandma to suck it up and do with less. The economy is getting better. You suckers paid 50 Billion for repairs for the damage on the east cost. Keep backing up the only thing going over the cliff is the house republicans. 2ND. LET’S SEE YOU HOLD THE PRES HOSTAGE ON THE DEBT OF THE COUNTRY WHICH THE HOUSE CREATED.

Those girls are blessed. You should simple head back to the shooting range…

          • janedoh1

Bush started Fast and Furious but ended it because it didn’t work. The Fast and Furious of 2009 was started by the PRESENT administration, you can’t ‘un-own’ it. it killed hundreds of people ( and yes children).

          • crimsonspark

I’m right there with you janedoh1. Being a 29 year old black conservative woman is not easy. When friends and family find out that you didn’t vote for Obama, you’re pretty much an outcast. I actually had one of my closest friends tell me that if she knew I thought the way I did, she never would have spoken to me and we wouldn’t have become friends. It’s a shame to think that what I thought was a great friendship can’t even withstand political differences.

          • jetch

sorry to hear that crimson. you as a conservative can ignore political differences between friends, but it’s clear that leftists cannot. it’s their way, or no way.

          • sydneyaustralia1

My mother could never come to terms with her Hispanic friend of many years, when the friend made her an outcast. My mother laughed when a sales person said it is a Mexican Stand Off in reply to a fourth person’s complaint about product they had purchased. The Hispanic friend was only listening to the exchange and felt it appropriate to not socialize with my Caucasian mother ever again, who suffered emotional pain for decades.

          • Elizabeth

Please do some independent research & try to fully understand that the program expanded under Obama WAS initially initiated by Bush, but the Bush admin DID use tracking devices & NO murders of innocent Mexican civilians or US Border Patrol or US ICE Agents occurred as a result!! The same cannot be said of Obama’s program, which was expanded under the oversight of US AG, Eric Holder, who irresponsibly directed hundreds of thousands of weapons, (whereabouts still unknown for many) to numerous “straw purchasers” which then were used to MURDER innocent Mexican civilians, as well as US citizens who were tasked with protecting the American public. Why do YOU refuse to acknowledge the depth & complicity of the involvement of your beloved lord & savior, your own ‘dear leader’, Barack Hussein Obama & his evil minion, Eric Holder (who referred to America as a “nation of cowards” upon the occasion of his confirmation )? Have you drunk so deeply of the koolaide that you are oblivious to facts, reality & logic?

          • Susan Borden

Progressives have a massive amount of PAID internet assassins on every conservative leaning site; just as Fox News has paid progressives designed to bring you slowly to the left. • Teresa Davis McCormick

boy you really need to get out and experience the real world.

          • bobbymike34

The Bush program was called ‘Wide Receiver’ and actually enbedded GPS chips into the weapon to ‘track’ them. When this did not work the program was stopped.

Fast & Furious gave hundreds of weapons to Mexican drug cartels with NO ATTEMPT to track anything.

Interesting that Obama and Holder gave speeches during this time about US weapns in Mexico almost like they were going to use it as an excuse for gun control or something.

          • Bill Griffin

Sorry, but your dems also voted for those wars. They aren’t Bush’s wars, they are the U.S. Governments wars.

          • http://twitter.com/hamybear Michael Hampton

People voted for those wars based on the lies that the Bush administration told to congress. Maybe you don’t remember the speech that Colin Powell made to congress showing tiny pictures of what he said were military bases that turned out to be nothing. Even Colin Powell said that he was ashamed of that speech. Bush used Powell’s political clout to lie us into that war. It is documented fact.

          • Garth Haycock

Yet Obama continued to perpetuate those lies, didn’t he?

          • http://twitter.com/hamybear Michael Hampton

No he didn’t. He finished the war. And is in the process of finishing the other that Bush started without a clear strategy of how to get out.

          • Garth Haycock

No, Obama continued the war that Bush started. When there are no more troops in that region, you can say the war has been ended.

          • Elizabeth

Obama was part of the Senate that voted on those wars & the Dems did gain majority status in BOTH the House & the Senate in the election cycle of 2006, holding both through the election of 2010, when the Republicans finally unseated Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), while the Dems continue to hold on to the Senate. So, for how many years did the Dems hold a monopolistic, hegemony on all branches of the US govt, save the US Supreme Court? Yet, during all that time, everything is still blamed on Bush? Has anyone bothered to check on when the housing market collapsed & when our economy took a nosedive? Those occurred AFTER the Dems took control & the Frank/Dodd banking/finance reforms took hold; Bush (for all his numerous faults) did attempt on numerous occasions to get Congress to deal with Countrywide, Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac–to no avail. Remember, Bush had to deal with a Dem majority when he first entered office, he didn’t get to enjoy more than 4 years of a party majority hegemony, as did the Dems under Obama’s ‘leadership’.

          • Elizabeth

Bush & the rest of the world’s intel services believed the same things, as ALL agreed on the major points. This entire issue has never been fully investigated, IMHO, as none of the hundreds of shipments that left Iraq between the time that Saddam had declared his intention not to cooperate with the UN Resolutionn 1440 & the actual entrance of US & coalition/NATO troops into Baghdad occurred have every been properly accounted for, nor tracked down. Some of those shipments did end up in Syria, via French & Russian corporations, (Syria, btw, is a former French colony). Is it remotely possible that some of those chemical weapons reportedly & allegedly being used in the current conflict in Syria actually came from Baghdad & originated in those shipments, the flights that went on virtually non stop from Baghdad? Who knows? However, the situation is not so simplistic as the blanket condemnation, “Bush did it!” that the Left reflexively repeats.

          • http://www.facebook.com/daniel.claymon Daniel Claymon

Yes, Obama did start “fast and furious”.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/BJIYHAFMPPQYUA6GDDWA3AGFBE David

Ended it by getting our agents killed with untracked guns the DOJ let loose so their could be an incident and they could confiscate weapons like they are trying to do now. The wars have had more deaths and costs since Your messiah took office. Grandpa has to suck it up because the democraps under Johnson took the trust fund money out of the trust fund and spent it on the great society. You fmahoney are the reason this country is in the shape its in. Do us a favor and move to France you socialist pig.

          • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

Oh, you mean the House of 2006? When the Dems got control? And haven’t passed a budget since? THAT House?

          • jetch

wow! talk about the low-information voter. you are it honey.

first, obama *did* start F&F, prior to it, there was operation wide receiver that had very different tactics and goals and did not allows guns to walk! obama’s operation f&f not only allowed guns to walk, but allowed them to cross the border, your president has blood on his hands because of it.

the very fact that you consider a president to be an “angel” tells us how mental you really are. you’re obviously a follower looking for someone to lead you, the type that drank the koolaid at jonestown.

did you happen to notice how contradictory you just were in your own rant? on the one hand you say that bush was the cause of the economic burden, and then on the other you say the house created the debt. which is it? if you want to say the house creates debt, then you have to look at the democrat controlled congress under pelosi as the cause of the debt during bush’s term. if you want to say it’s bush’s fault, then you also have to say it’s obama’s fault now. sorry, you are going to have to choose one.
your willingness to turn off your brain and mindlessly follow your leader is really disturbing. it’s how hitler came to power. you should be ashamed.

Obama did start Fast and Furious. The Bush administration tracked the weapons. Under Holder, the weapons were not tracked, nor were they prevented from entering Mexico.

          • http://www.facebook.com/corey.dennison Corey Dennison

No…Obama DID start Fast and Furious. Bush’s program was Operation Wide Receiver. Key differences:
–WR = 0 deaths resulted from the operation…F&F, deaths galore.
–WR was conducted with permission, notification and and consultation with the Mexican Government. F&F, yeah…not so much.
–WR had an actual plan to track the guns. F&F, nope.
–WR had ZERO guns walked accross the Mexican border. F&F, yeah, right.
            – the rest of your drivel has been debunked, answered and pretty much deconstructed extensively throughout the blogosphere.
You should feel very stupid…and you deserve to.

I didn’t say this man should not be able to carry his guns. I did not say I was going to write a letter to owhatshisface and cry OUTRAGE!!! I simply said that I would be uncomfortable. And I would. I was married to an MP. Been around guns for a very long time. My difference of opinion doesn’t make me a coward. Thank you for being open-minded.

        • Joe W.

I understand your position, although I still think it cowardly for an adult to be so “intimidated” and “uncomfortable” in the presence of holstered, and/or unloaded and slung weapons on the person of an American Citizen. The fact that you “have a problem” with this is not reason enough to infringe upon this man’s right to appear as he did, where he did. He, in fact, violated no law, and he even informed to PD of his intentions before doing so. Sorry to have offended you, but you need to get a grip, IMHO.

    • Guest

Feelings of intimidation and fear do not trump the 2nd Amendment. Many states have concealed carry and open carry. I think you better get used to seeing this as many more will be exercising their Right.

      • GaryTheBrave

Jena Penya, one of CO’s Senators, Bennett, voted AGAINST the fiscal cliff deal.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

So you’re ok with gang members in the mall who are carrying stolen guns, hidden under their clothing.

Oh, glad to know that you’re “for” the 2nd Amendment. It appreciates your approval.

      • ProudAmerican

Hmmm Gang members in the mall HIDING what they are carrying and a former soldier showing guns aren’t the problem by wearing them LEGALLY and proud…… There are no grounds to compare the two situations.

        • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

Perhaps you didn’t read what I thought I wrote. Guest is intimidated by the sight of a man exercising his rights as a citizen, protected by the Constitution.

It’s not the fact that the gun is in the mall, it’s that Guest can “see” it. Even if he couldn’t see the gun, that doesn’t mean that people aren’t carrying them, legally and illegally. They are there, but he’s ok if he doesn’t see them.

Other than that, I had nothing to say. If we disagree, we disagree.

          • ProudAmerican

            Yeaaaaah….. I didn’t read it that way. Sorry 😀

          • Guest

We don’t.. I read it wrong.

          • kayakingfatso

I wrote the comment that remained as ‘Guest’ when I deleted it. Thank you very much for understanding what I wrote. I deleted it because I thought maybe I jumped the gun (pun intended), and hoped that coming back to the comments I’d find other views that would help me to see this situation differently. I own guns. I will soon be concealed carry. I love my guns, and my right to own them. Thank you for comment. I appreciate that you didn’t put words in my mouth. :)

    • SineWaveII

Sorry don’t buy your story. If you owned guns and understood them you wouldn’t feel intimidated.

    • Garth Haycock

If you really do own guns are for the 2nd Amendment, you wouldn’t feel intimidated by this at all.

    • tony30088

My daughter is afraid of my neighbors’ dog. Should we ban everything “we” are afraid of? BTW Pittbulls have killed more children than AR-15s. No one is trying to ban them.

      • ozconservative

If I had a choice between being killed by a pitbull or an AR15 I’d take the AR15 every time.

      • adwriter84

Last time I checked, pitbulls were restricted from malls.

    • http://pennyrobinsonfanclub.net/ PennyRobinsonFanClub

When I see a bunch of bruthas with their hats turned sideways and their britches hanging under their arses, all decked out in gold chains, that makes me feel intimidated. Should we do something about them too?

    • Lienathan

I am not going to lie. If someone comes in with a slung AR I’m probably going to give a wary glance and might even be keeping a side-eye on him. But at least he’s carrying it openly and not hiding it. If he ‘goes for it’ then it’s time to worry. If it stays slung, then it’s just an object. I have gone to a lot of renfaires and the like and you see sheathed swords around all the time. nobody gives it a second thought, really. They’d be right to worry if someone whipped one out and started waving it around. I guess I see this as the same thing.

    • http://www.facebook.com/corey.dennison Corey Dennison

You should read the story. No one felt intimidated or scared. If you’re so pro-2nd Ammendment, what do you have against Open Carry laws? Something tells me you’re not as pro-gun as you say you are.

  • louisiana_mom

I agree, Twitchy… this is a case of “gun phobia” and we need to have a national discussion about it!

    • V the K

Yes, but what if he had gone shopping WITH A TANK !!!!!!11!!!!

      • Grandma HeadInjury

I’m not feeling it. Could you repeat the question 27 more times? And try to talk over me while you are doing it….

      • Just Another Guy

Have you seen the traffic in my drive every day? I’d LOVE to have a tank for that commute! Much safer to be in than my motorcycle with all those texters, cell phoners and makeup “artists” on the road.

  • sqeptiq

The headline left out a vital detail: “White man…” The reaction, both at the store and at Twitchy, would’ve been sharply negative had it been a black man. “Black racist intimidating whites,” etc.

    • Lord Foggybottom

Nobody seemed intimidated when a black man openly carried a rifle at a tea party rally. Stop making everything about race, it not only makes you look stupid, but it’s old and boring.

      • Joe W.

Well, SepticTank has been making himself look stupid for quite some time now.

      • sqeptiq

        Naw. I’ll keep it up.

        • SineWaveII

Well you know that the first gun laws were passed against blacks so that they couldn’t protect themselves from harassment and intimidation. Maybe you would like to go back to that, huh?

          • sqeptiq

Nope! I want everyone not in prison or a psych ward heavily armed.

    • Guest

The only ones I know of freaking out about a weapon being openly carried at a TEA Party rally a couple of years ago were the leftists. And when they reported it, they *hid* the fact that it was a black man carrying it, because of their false narrative that the TEA party was a bunch of racist whites.

      • ProudAmerican

Well, since it’s the gun that does all the work, I guess the gun could have stared swinging at people. Maybe you don’t even need bullets for a gun to be effective. Knives kill people…

Yes. You’re right. But not in the middle of a crowded mall, at a department store. Going to a grocery store in bumfuck wyoming during deer season is much different than a metropolitan mall.

      • ForTheRepublic

That was his point. He took an unloaded rifle and a loaded handgun into a crowded mall, and there wasn’t even so much as an accidental hit with the butt of the rifle. He proved the NRA’s point very well: Guns don’t kill people, evil people, kill people.

      • http://www.theconservativevoices.com/ dmacleo

sounds to me like the people in the mall have issues then.

      • Let’em Crash

Those hunters in WY would have the civility to leave an action open. You cant even walk around a rifle range the way this guy did in a mall. Patrons had no idea that muzzle waving around would not go off in a direction not down. We, the gun owners, are the ones entrusted to safe handling. Not trying to in-fight, just want to remind people of our self-imposed laws and how we shouldn’t praise poor firearms handling.

    • Let’em Crash

Unholstered guns get no love from me, but I wouldn’t insult as twitter people did.

      • http://www.theconservativevoices.com/ dmacleo

hard to holster a shotgun or rifle, which technically is required in church here in Maine.
so you’d rather a person have a weapon you cannot see then one you can see?
thats kind of odd to me.

        • Let’em Crash

A firearm in battery waving around on a sling on his back side would raise my adrenalin if I were near. A proper holster keeps the muzzle pointed down and the trigger covered, but you can still see it’s a gun, and that doesn’t bother me.

  • TonyDarrington

    I love WendyLou’s logic-
We don’t know if the person carrying the gun is a good guy or a bad guy. Solution: Take the guns away from the good guys, therefore the gun carrier must be a bad guy! So logical!

You can’t carry a gun if you have mental issues. Carrying a gun means you have mental issues. Therefore, if you carry a gun, you lose your right to carry a gun. Genius!

  • 2ifbyT

Somebody tweet this to Piers. In fact, everyone should tweet this to Piers. His head will explode.

  • John

Totally agree with this. It would be great to get a movement going where we designate a day for all semi-auto rifle owners nationwide to wear their rifle on their back and then repeat that day monthly. That way this guy is not alone and we get to the point of desensitization. Also, that way, we shut these jerks up. Its easy to pick on a lone man but not as easy to pick on a movement.

  • Jack Deth

I am a member of the NRA and I do not approve of his actions. This shows me that there are a lot of loose cannons out there and I think he could be one. Who in their right mind would do such a thing? He should have been charged with behavior intended to start a riot.

    • Jack Deth

      Hi, Linda:

      Life time NRA member here:

What “behavior” would he be charged with?

Open carry is legal in Utah. And he has a carry permit. He also contacted the police ahead of time.

If he is within the law. And he wouldn’t have done it if he wasn’t.
The cops can’t touch him. They could talk to him. And that’s about it.

      • http://twitter.com/redsoxunixgeek Smitty 

I am sure that that Call to Dispatch went out. A Month after a gun shooting in a Mall, this guy woke up and said “Man I should strap an AR-15 on my back to get pick up a new shirt and some pants at JC Penny’s” So, say a cop rolls up. How is he to know that this guy called to check? Carrying in a Mall like the one he was at is stupid.

I live in Utah. I own guns, and I have a CWP. I don’t have a problem with the Hand Gun, I do have a problem with the semi automatic weapon that was two actions from firing being strapped to his back.

What this guy did is make all gun owners look like psychopaths, and jackasses.

        • Jack Deth

No more so than an African America attending a Tea Party gathering two years ago with an AR-15 on his back. That ABC, NBC and CBS cropped to focus on the rifle and block out the color of the man’s skin.

        • Michelle

An AR-15 is innocuous in the hands of a sane, legal, responsible gun owner. So, mass murdering mental cases intent on killing people have made you afraid to see an AR-15 in public? That’s a shame. Mass murdering mental cases win.

          • adwriter84

“Dear Utah right wing nut that shopped @jcpenney with his AR-15 rifle: The statement you made is “I’m a douche bag.”

As usual, the left is resorting to petty insults when stymied by the facts.

I wonder if the person who wrote this wished a massacre had occurred just for political gain or so he could write a snarky tweet?

    Objectify/Characterize/Polarize

They can’t talk substance. They don’t use critical thinking skills.

    Liberals are all emotional reasoning

Five of the six negatives are male. Looks like all the ‘alpha’ males on the left let their women hold their cajones in jars for them… Sick, little twisted pansies that they are.

From the tweets: “@fox13now This is all about attention. It’s a very scary image. How do I know he’s a “good guy”? I think he has mental issues.—”

Answer: If you were armed, you wouldn’t have to worry if he’s a “good guy”, you’d be able to defend yourself.

  • Gallatin

Awesome!!!! We should all be carrying openly.

    • Michelle

Technically, the 2nd Amendment grants us the right to open carry – “…the right to keep and bear arms…” To keep means to own, to bear means to hold up, stand firm under, to bring forth, etc. Somewhere along the way, the “to bear” part was infringed upon when laws were created (in certain states) making it illegal to bear arms. For some reason, way too many folks see “the right to keep and bear arms” as one and the same, when actually they are two different things – keep = own; bear = carry. States without open carry laws are in violation of the 2nd Amendment.

      • Gallatin

I totally agree with your interpretation of the language, it is English after all. I just get wore out explaining English to libturds and politicians. I wrote a letter to my two Senators and 1 congressman years ago protesting the fourth consecutive year in a row that they had given themselves a raise. I quoted the 27th Amendment as my argument that two of those raises were unconstitutional. Even my representative, who considers himself a conservative and strong supporter of the Constitution sent back a convoluted, dance around the issue, response. I have no respect for anyone in Washington DC.

    • Alpha1

I would if it was legal in my state!

  • rinodino

IT’S FREAKIN’ UTAH!!!!!! LOL, what the heck do you expect?….. You conservatives are fishing HARD…. and no, nobody is taking away your rights to fish!!!!!

  • Teresa Davis McCormick

Hats off to JCPenney for not having a fear fest out of this. Hey if someone wants to a massacre I would want to be shopping with this guy!! All these shootings lately does not mean we should have more gun control it means law abiding people should be getting their conceal and carry permit.

  • Let’em Crash

Don’t make scabbards for the AR-15, do they.

  • http://twitter.com/KahNayNay KahNayNay

he did no different than a Democratic Legislator in VA, who brought an empty AR-15 to the podium in the Legislature of that state. The real gun owners asked that he remove his finger of the trigger and to point the gun towards the ground, instead of up at the gallery.
    LOL. Democrats are dumb.

    Good for him

  • http://twitter.com/hamybear Michael Hampton

Why is that necessary? Who is he trying to impress? Who would be impressed by that? His goal was to frighten people and he succeeded.

    • $27789750

I think he was trying to make the point that guns are inanimate and not, in and of themselves, a threat.

      • http://twitter.com/hamybear Michael Hampton

So you would be perfectly fine to see people walking around with machine guns doing their shopping at the grocery store? Wow. I don’t like to think that a gun battle could happen at any time over fabric softener.

        • Michelle

Who said anything about machine guns? Those are banned (as they should be).

          • http://twitter.com/hamybear Michael Hampton

That gun on that man’s back sure looks like a machine gun to me. And if machine guns are banned, as they should be, then why are you so upset about the ban on assault rifles being reinstated, as it also should be?

          • Michelle

This is why it’s hilarious people like you involve yourselves in the discussion about gun control – you don’t even know what you’re talking about. No, that’s not a machine gun in the photo. Fully auto guns are banned. Tell me what an “assault rifle” is. Define it for me. Take your time, even the Federal government has a hard time with the definition.

  • http://odinslounge.wordpress.com/ Moose

The bigger news is that JCPenney is still in business

  • BeeKaaay

leftwingwackos know what guns are? that’s shocking.

  • Bigfoot Steve

It’s a very scary image. How do I know he’s a “good guy”? I think he has mental issues.— WendyLouWho

The lack of dead bodies and bullets flying around are usually a good clue. If anyone has mental issues, it’s you.

  • Bigfoot Steve

While legal, this is a really dumb thing to do. Incredibly intimidating. I’d take my family and leave. This is NOT normal.—
    WendyLouWho

Big black guys with tattoos are intimidating. Should they be banned from public places too, you racist?

  • Emma Brown

HEy Andrew, wonder why you have to bring “dicks” into everything…maybe it’s because yours is so teeny??…or maybe it’s because you just have no balls…

  • Emma Brown

Hey, fmahoney, you are DEAD WRONG about Fast and Furious..you need to double check YOUR facts…obama DID start it….the Bush administration had a different program, similar, which they ended as soon as they found it wasn’t working…and obama only “ended” it when so many people were getting killed with the guns that he was running that he had NO OTHER CHOICE…also, the unemployment has doubled and tripled since obama first took office, and gotten worse each year…and from the looks of things, will continue to get worse…and as far as the national debt….it has NEVER been even CLOSE to what it is since obama and his goons have been in control…(obama had both houses for the first 2 years, and still did NOTHING) …except put us deeper and deeper in debt, not balanced a budget, and plans on keeping YOU SUCKERS following his blind lead…it’s a sad bunch of blind people who know what he is doing and still continues to back him…I guess when our country goes completey to her bended knees, you will still be kissing his dirty behind….Sad…

  • Mapache

How many times does Obama make reference to the Secret Service and there guns? Lots!!

  • Bub

The only people that”like”this are mainly ignorant 90ish iq”don’t take my holy guns”I mention ignorant, stubborn, & self serving humans?Perhaps they can go home&clean their loaded gun.Perhaps they accidently shoot theirselves in the left pinky toe.Instant foot removal.Sad it takes tragic things to change an ignorant brain..

  • Bub

It’s you pathetic stubborn so called “dads” + “faux news brainwashed moms” that don’t listen to anyone but yourselves. You think liberal is a bad thing instead as a fellow American! You think the wrong way, but you demand people to see it your way.. Were Americans. We should all unite. We should not be divisive. You gun toting in a store where children are, Republicans, really have to relearn how to be human. It’s maybe to late for this since thisshrinkingmassofTeaparty/religious/republican/rushfollowers/trump wannalikes/Hannitylovers/AnnCoulter act alikes/Rupert Murdoch brainwarshed/Mega Church Cult Followers + many more of your kkk cult of anti uniters of america, but maybe not. Theres always forgiveness. Theres always open arms to the ones that ask the masses for forgiveness for their failed policy. The thing is. Can they break away from their leaders of (Rupert Murdoch/Rush Loudmouth/Glenn Beck) on & on & on that spew their hate to divide America? Time will tell..

  • JustLikeAnimals

I hope all the liberal nail-bitters ran screaming from the building and cowered in their SUV’s.

  • JustLikeAnimals

Love all the twisted panties over this open-carry of weapons in a public place. Little do the libertards know how many times they stand in line and speak to those of us who are carrying concealed and don’t even know it. Be afraid, little sheep…….be very afraid.
    Boo!!!! =)

  • Skeptic7

Gun phobia should be listed as a serious mental illness.

  • $24698634

Why didn’t he just take out his d**k and get it over with.
