There you have it.
Uhhhh: Stumbling Obama and Christie canoodle in Brigantine, NJ, while outcry for help grows
Chris Christie praises Obama’s Hurricane Sandy ‘leadership’; libs rejoice, conservatives rebuke
Outrage: Christie rips House GOP, denies pork in pork-filled Sandy relief bill
Christie demands ‘clean’ Sandy relief bill after dismissing criticism of pork in original
Grow some b@lls, Christie.
Where would he put them? No room inside that suit ….
He has the courage to criticize the NRA, something you would never do.
Courage would be if he disarmed gang bangers in Chicago. Criticizing people who follow the rules isn’t courageous at all.
or even Newark
What do you jump from site to site? What is your problem, back underneath the rock already.
Wow! Criticizing the NRA! What a profile in courage. It’s never been done before.
WHy would we?
They aren’t pro-active enough protecting 2nd Amendment rights.
When the NRA does something that warrants criticism from conservatives, you can be assured that we’ll criticize it.
It does not take “courage” to be on the wrong side of a particular issue; quite the opposite, in fact.
I criticize them all the time!
especially after they endorsed both obama & mccain
Boy, am I sick of Charlie Christie
Great. We need to shout this from the rooftops when he defects like the coward he is. Charlie Christie! We’ll see how much his weight is a liability when he turns Democrat. The media will drop the issue faster than Chrispy Creme could lose weight.
Just join the Democratic Party already! Geez
His political transformation is nearly complete. Give it a little time, and he will defect.
He probably wants to milk his time in the media spotlight as a “responsible Republican” before he “sees the light” and goes to the Democrat party. I, for one, won’t be sorry to see him go.
His Orchiectomy is fully complete.
“Now, take your weapon, strike him down, and take your rightful place at my side” -Emperor Obama
Yep exactly what he needs to do.
Actually, it’s gonna be hilarious this fall when his BFF the SCOAMF campaigns for his opponent.
Another Colin Powell. Loosers
People who don’t know how to spell “losers”, are also, well……
honest mistake. I’m sure you’ve never made one.
When he does he can turn out the lights on the GOP, because there will be no one left.
I disagree w/ the Governor. If the President can use children to get his agenda acrosss, so can the NRA. Fight propaganda with truth.
No, the NRA shouldn’t use Obama’s children to get their propaganda across. They can use their own children if they want to.
Or O could use other people’s children to sell his right.
Now THAT was reprehensible! And the parents have to share the blame for that with O and The Handlers.
In your mind, there is no hypocrisy in Dear Reader using armed men to protect his own children, but denying American citizens their Constitutional Right to protect their own children with firearms.
Like the President? Oh, wait…
If he’s going to use children as props, then he loses all right to dispute it when people use his.
Asking for armed security to protect school children is now considered to be “propaganda”?
Enjoy your permanent vacation in la-la land.
Then let Obama use HIS OWN CHILDREN when he signs his bogus executive orders.
Your tweet is reprehensible.
Notice, Christie has no criticism at all for Dear Reader pimping children to sell his gun control scheme.
Or for the gun-grabbing lies of the left….
Christie is reprehensible! wish he would just keep his big pie hole shut!!!
You may want to rethink your plans for 2016 GOP Potus run.
Maybe he already has. He’s smart enough to know he’s not making any friends in the Republican party…lately.
He knows his time is done as a Republican. Now he’s preaching to the choir, the democratic choir. He’s making a stand for them. He’s already gone.
Everyone who thinks Chris Chrispie isn’t going to run as a Progressive-Republican in 2016 probably has it wrong.
He’s just the type of Republican the Progressives who run the GOP adore! Just as Dole, Romney, and McCain were he is that fruity “electability” the the upper-level GOP swoons over!
With the changes made last election cycle to the way the GOP runs you’ll see: he’s probably already been told (on the “Q.T.”, of course!) that he’s the 2016 primary pick!
There is no chance in hell he will get GOP nomination…uh..there better not be or we might have to form a 3rd party.
What the heck is with this guy? What game does he think he’s playing?
That’s just it; he doesn’t play games. He speaks his own mind.
Well sometimes it’s better to just say nothing no matter your opinion. This may be one of those.
That’s Christie’s decision to make.
And mine to criticize.
Grais, seriously. The only reason Christie is saying this is because it’s cool. If this had happened under Bush’s watch, he would be keeping his lips sealed tighter than a tomb so as not to offend the “overwhelmingly center-right nation”. But now that he thinks the tune has changed and that political fortune can be found in shifting ever leftwards, he’s all game. To so brazenly label the NRA ad as “reprehensible” when all it did was use kids as props – JUST LIKE OBAMA DID – is the height of hypocrisy and the epitome of political opportunism.
All pure conjecture on your part. The only time I’ve ever seen or heard of Christie trying to be ‘cool’ is when he swoons over Springsteen (which makes me sick). Like him or not, Christie speaks HIs mind, political consequences be damned. You’ve let the media tell you what Christie’s about. (He takes on the Union bosses and fights to cut spending, he’s a staunch conservative; he doesn’t like the children of Obama (or Any politician,as he said)being used and he’s a fat, stupid liberal who ought to just join the Dems, already) He’s my Governor…I’ve let HIM tell me what he’s about. Truth be told, he’s Not a staunch conservative, nor is he a stupid liberal. And I am not a diehard fan of his, but all this sudden hatred directed at him is the result of people having built an impression of him WITHOUT knowing very much about him.
btw, if all the NRA ad did was “use kids as props – JUST LIKE OBAMA DID – “, is one ‘reprehensible’ but the other ‘not’?
The media ain’t told me crap about what Christie’s about, bro. I didn’t even know Christie existed until August, when I heard people tossing his name around as one of the RNC speakers. Look, I get that you’re emotionally attached to Christie, and I don’t blame you – I feel the same way about Rick Perry. I know everyone thinks he’s a stupid, backwards hick, but I like how he stands up for himself and I find the blustering macho image endearing 😉 But the fact is, Grais, they’re politicians. And they do things that are popular to look cool and gain some ground. And when they stand firm in the face of public opinion, that’s bravery. But when they just mouth aimlessly along with the rest of the crowd, they just want to score points, not state their real opinion.
It’s not conjecture on my part. Gun control is always a touchy topic. And it hasn’t been until this horrific event that being in favor of gun control was popular. Grais, if Christie were to say this at any other time, under any president that didn’t have a (D) after his name, he would be politically crucified at the stake. But right now, everyone in the media is fawning over him, heralding him as the new darling of the Republican Party, the savior of those nasty, gun-clinging, backwards Republicans. And here’s why: because Christie is slamming Republicans. Christie has always been for gun control; that shouldn’t have been a surprise to anyone who actually knew him. The issue I have with Christie is that he’s dumping on the NRA because it is politically expedient. He’s either got to know that he’s being a hypocrite, or he’s just incredibly stupid. You cannot morally and intellectually slam the NRA for being morally crass by using Obama’s kids in their ad without recognizing that by that definition, Obama is also morally reprehensible for using a bunch of little kids at his executive order signing. They both used the kids for one reason alone: to sway political sympathies to their side. It’s sick, it’s inappropriate, and it’s wrong – NO MATTER WHO DOES IT. But Christie is only hammering ONE side for doing it. Grais, you can’t believe that that is being fair and opinionated. That’s being plain stupid and hypocritical.
Wisdom: 1. Having a lot to say. 2. Not saying it.
That’s great when he’s right.
It sucks balls when he’s wrong.
Christie you speaking for Real Americans is
reprehensible. Do not worry you idiot politician , we know who the enemy is.
Once again a Republican that strays from the CONSERVATIVE PLANTATION must be dealt with.
In what state other than New Jersey, California, and New York is Chris Shifty a Republican?
For the record, Republicans were never slave owners, look up a bit of history you loon and you will see the GOP formed in 1854 to oppose the slave owning Democrats.
Ha Ha good one, they hate the truth.
See my reply to Michael S. It applies to you too.
Dude, you are one nasty troll. You think and talk like The Borg. Remember, resistance is only futile for those who can’t think on their own.
I never realized Christie’s political views were tied to his race, but if you say so.
Christie knows that the middle is where it’s at.
I actually agree with that. Bipartisanship has disintegrated with this president (I’m tempted to call it regime). I think the way back begins with a middle of the road candidate and a better balance in both houses. One half of the country feels disenfranchised right now, and everything about Obama suggests that he wants to crush the GOP (and it’s voters) under his heel. Friends, that is called a dictatorship.
Agreed. Bipartisanship is a lost art. Just one cliff after another. I’m personally getting very tired of the brinksmanship. Hopefully whomever is in office 4 years from now will be a more effective leader than Obama.
If every lefty who ever claimed “I could vote for a good moderate Republican like John McCain” actually had voted for him, he would have won in a landslide. Instead, they voted for the far left radical. Why would anyone really believe they would ever support a moderate Republican?
Christie’s middle is where ALL of it is at.
CLASSIC liberal projection. Thanks for sharing. Bless your heart 😉
OMG look. A racist allegation. In caps no less. How rare and wondrous.
Republicans freed the slaves, gave them civil rights.
Thank you for noting that there is a difference between Republican and conservative.
No doubt , your next complaint against a conservative will include the label of “Republican”, but for now . . .
so in the next ad maybe they should mention the protection christies family may get, if they do get any.
He’s absolutely right.
Only a progressive would think that the truth is reprehensible.
Did you listen to his explanation? Did you try to see it from his point of view?
Whether the Obama children were enrolled at Sidwell Friends or not, that school, founded by supposedly non-violent Quakers, would still employ a staff of armed security personnel. The NRA’s ad is relevant and makes an important point about children of privilege.
Toward the end of the article: “And Ellis Turner, associate head of Sidwell Friends, told us emphatically: Sidwell Friends security officers do not carry guns.””
I’m not in complete agreement with Christie here, but I can understand why he feels the way he does.
Children of privilege, like the poor, will always be with us.
The ad is important because, in too many instances, the privileged make the rules for the rest of us and buy whatever they want or need for their own families. With a quick change of narration the commercial could easily be changed into an ad for school vouchers.
Why would ANYONE do that?
OOh, I dunno…maybe to learn a little something…to open one’s mind just a crack….
And then there are those that reveal their mind when they open their crack.
AWWW, bless your little heart!
I did listen. I don’t see it from his point of view.
1. The mention in the ad was of “The President’s kids.” No names, no pictures. We all know he has two kids. We all know they go to a private school and we all know they have Secret Service protection.
2. Christie says that POTUS’ kids had no choice, POTUS has no choice and by omission he is saying that WE have no choice for the protection. He says debate the issues, that IS an issue and he dodged it to trash the NRA. That is his choice.
3. If Christie has an idea of what the “real issues” are on this topic, he failed to provide any. It may be in a different video.
If the Obama girls had been named and their picture used, that would be one thing. But to point out that they are protected by highly trained marksmen 24/7 and the idea of OUR kids being afforded protection for the few hours a day they are under GOVERNMENT control, is valid.
I already have read your disagreements. And we will have to see this in opposite viewpoints. For the record, my year (1983-84) in a Hoboken shipyard and living in Iselin, NJ was very enjoyable. I’ve always liked the Garden State.
You must know then, that I never said I agree with him. But, as a parent, I can understand his reaction. He doesn’t think ANY politicians’ kids should be brought into the national spotlight to further a cause. I agree with that. I’d’ve been happier with him if he’d said ANYbody’s kids, but he didn’t, so I’ll just have to be disappointed with him in that regard. He’s very happy with and proud of NJ’s strict gun laws, so I have some disagreement with him there, too.
I don’t know that he dodged the issue, exactly. It was a presser; he was asked a specific question.
He has spoken recently about his ideas (if you can tolerate clicking this website, you can see how he deals with some of the dopes he has to deal with.) ; )
Are they good ideas? Maybe. Like I said, I’m not a great fan of his.
I think I get frustrated by all the nonsensical crap that’s thrown at him by people who THOUGHT they knew him because they liked the little bits they saw on the national news when he was ripping apart unions, etc. They built, in their own minds, a vision of some conservative savior, which most of us in NJ knew he wasn’t. They loved how he spoke his mind as long as he agreed with Them. When his state was massacred by Sandy, no one here (NJ) was surprised that he embraced Obama…he (and any other governor) would & should have embraced ANY POTUS in the same circumstances, and even we Obama haters thought it was a GOOD thing. He gets high marks from the whole state for his handling of this mess. Obama & FEMA- not so much. Chris Matthews was glad that Sandy struck when she did. I get the impression that a lot of folks would have been glad if Sandy had struck at some other, less politically inconvenient time. Afterall, it’s Christie’s fault that Obama won. (Yes, I’ve actually seen exactly that posted)
I think some people (especially those posting on BBs and places like this) have no idea about who Christie is/has always been, no idea about how much he (& we) love our state, no idea what Sandy hath wrought, no idea that the NE is far from ‘nothing but a buncha flaming liberals’, and no idea of how utterly devisive and childish they themselves are.
/end of rant/
Iselin, huh? That’s not even a particularly nice part of the state. ; )
Well, neither is my shore anymore, but not for the same reasons.
But we’re rebuilding, even better.
At the time, Iselin was Sunnybrook Farm compared to Hoboken. I hear that Hoboken has become Yuppieville USA.
I’m getting really tired of Chris Christie.
I can’t stand him anymore, probably because I used to like him so much, and discovering he was just another politician with feet of clay, and a traitor, has been hurtful and disappointing.
C’mon big boy, isn’t it about time to admit you’re a Democrat? I’d actually respect you more if you did, because nobody likes a liar.
Ah, come on, Times has basically declared him one. After all the insults towards Christie, suddenly he’s the latest darling. Today, the stands were full of Time magazine, and the latest cover has Christie, “The Boss.”
Christie did a great job at making folks think he was a conservative. He’s a better liar than Obama, in that I was always able to easily see who Obama really is, but Christie actually had me thinking he was one of the good guys.
It seems that Hurricane Sandy brought out the real Christie. He won’t stand a chance of winning in 2016 now that Americans know he is Anti-Constitution.
How, exactly, is he “Anti-Constitution?”
Christie didn’t do that. People let the media do that to themselves. He’s never pretended to be anything other than what he is.
No, he has pretended to be a conservative. If you were a conservative, you’d be able to see that.
Christie has perfected the art of a$$ kissing to get money but a HO
still has more class
Look, let him switch parties–then he can battle it out with Hillary in the next election. Since I live in NJ, I can promise that he doesn’t have a problem cutting spending. So as a Democratic president, he would be less left wing than Hilary. And if he ran against Rubio, the right wing might even prevail.
As a fellow New Jerseyan, I like the way you think.
When is he going to switch parties?? He’s become such a RINO, it’s not really about his children, but the hypocrisy, he is missing the point!
Well, It’s official the Republican party stays LOSING….. Next it will be Martinez and Jindel, then give it about two more years, and Rubio will follow suit… the smarts ones usually wake up when they see the party is no longer the party of Lincoln, it’s been hijacked by people who call the first lady a Guerilla and the President a black muslim who PALS around with terrorist …. how’s all that evil hateful rhetoric working out for ya’ righties?
Dave, you lump all conservatives in with the fringe element that say and do outrageously awful things. This is the same as YOUR far-left fringe like Bill Maher calling Sarah Palin a c*nt, or those who send death threats to a black actress for supporting Romney. If you are at all credible, you have to admit that you’ve got your own share of wing nuts.
Yeah but you guys actually allow yours to become elected officials; that’s the difference.
It isn’t nearly as simple as that, and I am sure you know it. If you want, I’ll come back at you with an incredibly long list of rotten democrat politicians, but I’d rather go have my dinner now. Maybe a little less snark on both sides would lead to more productive exchanges. And by the way, I apologize for calling you a member of the Borg further down this chain. That’s the kind of trash talk I’m getting tired of.
I had facts and stuff to back up my counter-claim that liberals elect nutjobs as well, but I’m just going to reply “NO U”.
Last time I heard we didn’t have any murderers or rapists
It’s fascinating that you spend all the time you do, on a site crawling with Conservatives, cracking one liners about Conservatives and the GOP that aren’t even interesting, informative or entertaining. What’s the point? Oh boo hoo somebody called Palin a name I’m so upset. *sads
Cynthia McKinney, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, Dick Turban, Chuck Schumer…..
Al Gore was THIS close to becoming President.
I take it you’ve never heard of Alan Grayson?
Broad? Meet brush.
Well stated Alice. Both sides have wing nuts. As a conservative it pains me to say this, but I sometimes thing the Dems do a better job of distancing themselves from the crazier elements of their party. That’s my admission for the day. Ouch, that hurt!
Ronald, I have to respectfully disagree with you. I don’t think the Dems even acknowledge that there is such a thing as “ultra-left wing”, which would be the opposite of the term they constantly throw at the right.
The media never report anyone as being far left. They merely move the “center” point a bit more left and call it normal.
I agree with your assessment of the mainstream media. They rarely if ever report on the far left or give them air time. I think that’s part of how they suppress (or distance themselves from) the left wing nuts. But as soon as a crazy right winger says something dumb, they report the hell out of it.
The crazier elements of their party are on parade on MSNBC every night! The only thing ‘distant’ about that is their ratings.
Haha! Good point.
You’ll have to forgive dave travis, he’s just not smart.
What is your point dave? Your rambling rant says nothing. Try again.
What is it about the Republicans that is so flippin extreme? Do you not realize that you have people in your party advocating for the legalization of PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION, in which a live baby that has survived a previous abortion technique can be physically murdered by the doctor? Do you not realize that some people in your party are still fans of communism, EVEN THOUGH it resulted in mass poverty, murder and deception in Russia and China? Do you not realize that some people literally believe that a perfect utopia on earth is achievable if we can just ban all those nasty guns? And you want to call US extreme? Until you’ve magically managed to remove the loonies from YOUR side of the party, you don’t have a right to accuse.
you are welcome to Mr. Christie…handle him with care.
And WHO that has any position of revelence whatsoever within the Republican Party has labeled the president a “black Muslim”?
I believe you intended to write “GOrilla,” not “GUErilla.” And I’m pretty sure Obama is an atheist. As for “palling around” with terrorists, why do you think Ayers and Dohrn went on the lam from the FBI, parking tickets? The truth seems “evil” to you because you are so far to the left that it has become your new normal. The radical left controls the dems, and BHO is as radical as they get.
Another word for it Chris. Accurate
This from a man who ALSO sends his special kids to a private school with???????resource officers??????
Yes, dear, he does.
I know they attend private schools, princess; can you tell me which ones they are?
(See, I can be condescending, too, but I felt absolutely no need to until I saw that my 2 word question so disturbed your delicate sensibilities)
Bless your heart.
Actually yes but he works very hard for that not to be released…….but I will say they are Parochial based.
Why is it reprehensible to point out the fact that while the president sends his children to a school with armed guards, he wants our kids to go to gun free zone schools? Since when is it wrong to point out hypocrisy in politics?
since there’s so much of it.
think like a democrat, it’s not a murder of 8 year old children, it’s a 32nd trimester abortions.
Have always liked Christie, but his comments in the vid above are those of an elitist snob who really thinks he, other politicians, his kids and the kids of other politicians deserve more than the kids of “the little people” who are beneath them. Don’t think I CAN like a guy anymore who thinks like that. My kids didn’t have a choice either, Prince Christie, but they deserve protection every bit as much as yours do. And if you want to disarm ordinary citizens or keep concealed carriers out of the schools of the common people, it’s only fair you disarm politicians’ schools too.
They’re the comments of a parent and a politician. I don’t necessarily agree with him, but then, I’m not a politician. I am a parent, though, and I might find it reprehensible if my kids were used like that, or even if I could imagine my kids being used like that.
Hopefully you WOULD find it reprehensible to discover that while your kids enjoyed the protection of armed guards at school, other people’s children did not.
My kid were protected(?) by an armed guard at our little high school in our little town, years ago. I wasn’t particularly comfortable with it, especially after learning that some little dipshit jumped the guard one day. To be honest, I didn’t give much thought to what was going on in other high schools. Should I have?
Only if you care about innocent human lives being guarded against violence.
Ah. So, do you know about the security situations of all the schools in the nation, or even in your area? Or do you not care about innocent lives being guarded? One or the other, right?
YOU are the one that said you “didn’t give much thought to what was going on.”
I agree. Christie makes his point that his kids didn’t choose to have a governor as their father and need protection from us wackjob citizens. Well how about this? Kids in the ghetto public schools didn’t choose to be there NEEDING protection either. The kids of normal families at Sandy Hook didn’t CHOOSE to go to a school and get shot that day. I don’t care if his kids didn’t choose his career, that’s completely irrelevant. His kids aren’t more important than ours, and politicians and celebrities have no right to demand we have gun-free school zones while they have gun-protected school zones.
I think he had a lot of potential, but lately he’s just become another spineless East Coast Republican. He is clearly trying to stay popular in his super-liberal state so that he can get re-elected.
If Chrissy doesn’t like it then it has to be good. If he wants to see reprehensible, I suggest the nearest highly reflective surface.
He doesn’t much like Union Bosses.
Even a stopped clock is right 1/720th of the time.
It is because they are the only other group with enough power to challenge his rulership.
Obama uses a different tactic, he befriends the unions. When he no longer needs them and consolidates his grip, they’ll have dropped their guard — and be open to the long knife.
Tin-plated despots don’t share power.
Ah, he’s employing the standard “Only I, as a father, am allowed to pimp my children for political purposes” defense.
The ad was spot on – it pointed out that the children of “elitists” have armed guards at their schools. Meaning, aside from Secret Service protection for the President’s kids, the school they attend (with the children of other elitists) have armed guards. This very same group of people poo-poo the idea of having armed guards at the schools of average American citizens. This is called hypocrisy. As for anyone upset that NRA ad brought up the President’s children, including Wolf Blitzer, and saying the NRA had no right to use Barry’s kids as political pawns – how is it any different from those kids on the stage yesterday standing around Barry as he signed Executive Actions. They were used as political pawns, were they not?
Does it matter that the parents of these private schools are paying for the armed guards themselves (via tuition) whereas the NRA is suggesting that all taxpayers foot the bill for armed guards in public schools? Isn’t that not elitism but instead capitalism — the school being the business that buyers are attracted to because of the quality of its services?
Really, you make the safety of children an issue about money and who’s paying the bill? That’s pretty interesting coming from you – a known Liberal on this site who argues with any right leaning point of view just for the sake of arguing. Every high school in Los Angeles Unified School District has an armed guard and it’s been that way here since long before the Newtown shooting, and now in addition to those armed guards at every high school, we now have uniformed police officers making the rounds to EVERY school in the district. We (that includes me) taxpayers have no issue with this, we welcome it and are glad for it (and I don’t even have children in school, I gladly help pay this bill). No reason the rest of the country can’t do the same. Now go ahead, make an opposing comment to this one. After all, it’s really all you’re ever here for.
If you look in the list of executive orders, there is money being earmarked for school resource officers. Guess what those are.
I wonder why liberals did nto throw a fit about that…becaue it was POTUS who wants them.
Consservatives called for the same thign under a different name and they all threw a fit.
Knowing Dingleberry’s visited the Soviet Union in his youth and loves Mao & the things Mao instituted, I thought those “school resource officers” were more like the the Chinese “political observers” or the
old-style Soviet “political officers” that were embedded in every unit to assure the politburo’s will was carried out.
Knowing how the Skidmark-in-Chief feels about children (just abandon them to starve in linen closets…) I find it difficult to believe that he’d put money into guarding them as you suggest.
But I might be mistaken, I suppose….
No need to mind-read. I was only posing a question. Here I was thinking this was a discussion forum where anyone was invited, not just the sycophants. I stand corrected.
Also, I didn’t make the safety of children an issue about money. The NRA did by with “elitist.”
And for the record, I don’t have a problem with armed guards in schools. I just don’t think it’s the only solution. The NRA keeps pushing this as a kind of miracle cure, and that’s what I quibble with. It’s only part of a possible solution.
As Michael rightly points out below, the president has earmarked $$ for “school resource officers.” That’s a move in the right direction, but it’s only one.
Stopped reading after the first paragraph. “No need to mind-read. I was only posing a question. Here I was thinking this was a discussion forum where anyone was invited, not just the sycophants. I stand corrected.” I wasn’t mind reading, I was going by your well-known behavior on this site. It’s called…paying attention, not mind reading. Save the drama, no one said you’re not welcome in the discussion. No one even implied that. You don’t stand corrected, you stand utterly predictable.
Have to say, this sounds pretty uninviting to anyone who doesn’t just nod and say, “Yes, Twitchy, you’re right.”
“Now go ahead, make an opposing comment to this one. After all, it’s really all you’re ever here for.”
But thanks for the clarification. I’ll steer clear of your comments from now on. I’m interested in asking hard questions (even of myself) about complicated issues. I see now that we don’t have that in common.
It IS possible to engage in reasoned debate without resorting to ad homs of the Musket Morgan “You all have already made up your minds” type. Just make sure that your posts actually include those reasoned arguments and you’ll be fine.
It is only YOUR interpretation that the NRA is “pushing this as a kind of miracle cure”.
So I guess it’s a miracle that there’s never been a shooting in those schools where there are armed guards.
how about de-funding abortion clinics and applying the money toward armed guards in public schools
The answer to your question is NO, the distinction between public and private schools does not matter. Because innocent children are innocent children, no matter where they are located.
Not if school attendance is compulsory. And it is.
We can solve this very easily. Send obama’s kids to public school. Obama thinks public schools are so great then he should send them there. They would get armed security in a heartbeat and no one would complain.
That doesn’t make sense to me. School taxes are paid by HOME/PROPERTYOWNERS’ property taxes in the municipality/district. Even people who have no kids have to pay school tax. The feds ship additional money to the states/districts for bribery or to force compliance just like with Medicare.
Aside from the fact that each district can chose for itself…the CONSTITUTIONAL WAY…a better question is why am I being forced to pay for other people’s food, phones, internet, medical care, abortions, birth control, even strip joints and I can’t even get SCHOOL PROTECTION FOR MY OWN KID?
Which is of course completely rhetorical since I would never send my kid to a government school now.
I assume you’re not a property owner or you wouldn’t have assumed that the federal government is paying for public schools nor have the final say in what local school boards choose. .
Don’t you think it’s disgusting that someone has to pay for other people’s stuff when they don’t even have kids or get anything back from the other people draining the “fund” without even working for it? I do.
Then again, Liberals” “Roads! Bridges”.
so, it’s ok for the taxpayers to foot the bill for a school building, furnature, equipment, etc, etc, even if they have no kids themselves. but to expect the school to hire an armed guard like they would a janitor or maintanence man is not? did you know that a lot of schools already have police officers present, & have had them present for several years going back to the 1970’s.
Governor Kramden is a blaaaaaabbbbbermouth!
One of these days…POW! To the Moon!!
Fatman: NRA Ad is reprehensible, but stripping Americans of Constitutional Rights is okayfine,
Christie can’t handle the truth!
This ad only points out the hypocrisy of their dad. It doesn’t mention anything like, say. they were the product of incest, or retarded or sluts. THAT would be disgusting.
We were warned about him during the Ground Zero Mosque kerfuffle, but we didn’t believe it. We believe it now.
Remember it was Christie who used a NJ state helicopter in 2011 to get to his son’s baseball game. Typical politician.
Why do I care what he thinks? (I don’t)
Many Politicians find the truth reprehensible
He should join Colin Powell in the Dem party.
I wish “fat bastard” would join the dems.. he would fit better with them we dont need his disloyalty and dissension
You should have listened to the whole press conference. Pulling out small soundbites clouds the truth.
While we’re all in the mood to ban things, perhaps we should add “You took my remarks out of context” to the list of things to ban.
Seriously, Christie needs to worry about getting building inspectors to do their job so Sandy residents can rebuild. In the meantime, we see Sandy Hook gets armed protection and VP Biden calls them rent a cops…..
“It’s come to this: White House releases videos of young kids asking Obama for more gun control”
“Exit question for Chris Christie: While you’re busy grandstanding about that NRA ad for your blue-state audience, any thoughts on Obama’s use of kids to carry his water agenda-wise? I vaguely recall you goofing on teachers’ union stooges who are quick to enlist kids when arguing that pay cuts for public-school teachers will damage their education. Okay to do that sort of thing on an issue where you agree with O?”
I am a resident of NJ, and while Christie is good for NJ – it is only because he isn’t a northeast liberal progressive dimocrat. But, he is a northeast liberal “republican”. (more like a 60’s democrat to me.)
Everything is relative. He is like Romney, and will fail in a presidential race like Romney for the same reasons. You can’t win over dimocrats by trying to be more like them……..
When is he going to just jump ship? He’s already been sailing on it since Sandy hit.
“In case of emergency, you may use your governor as a flotation device.”
The RINOpublican party has been taken over by Marxists.
Did this moron get hit upside the head with hurricane Sandy storm projectile debris or has he always been such a libturd putz?
Just joined the NRA today. F U fat man. Good luck in the primary against Hillary in 2016.
If he is saying the ad is untrue, then he should specify exactly how. Otherwise, he should point his revulsion at this degenerate potus who specializes in despicable tactics and who provoked this ad to begin with. Truth hurts so stop complaining and deal with it.
Totally lost me years ago, when he started kissing radical imam Mohammed Qatanani’s ass.
The more Chris Christie talks the more I’m disappointed in him. What’s with this lefty view all the sudden? Is there an election coming up? Way to show that you’re a dime a dozen politician.
Our children have no choice either. They must attend school. Now they are sitting ducks while our elected officials bicker like this. Enough of your righteous indignation, Governor Christie. Your children are protected. The president’s children are protected. How about doing your job and protecting mine? Less griping and more action…now!
Funny, all the righties here likely just loved Christie when he was bashing teachers and talking tough at the convention. Just fell all over themselves lovin the big dude.
Now that he committed the huge crime of giving an effective president his due during a crisis ( like an adult), and called the NRA out for its devolution from a rational organization that taught gun safety to a gun cult whose leaders’ views belie all common sense, he is now evil incarnate.
As a longtime independent who first voted for Anderson, it’s heartening to see a somewhat rational GOP leader. Here’s hoping more moderates like him speak up and inject some wisdom into a truly pitiful party ( by the way, I’m no fan of Dems either).
Yeah, ain’t it funny how we like him when he says or does the right things, but aren’t too keen on him when he says or does the wrong things? Gee, If you didn’t know better you would almost swear that rather than being partisan sycophants we actually were judging the man by his deeds and actions.
Kinda the opposite of ‘Obama is a perfect husband & father; therefore, if you oppose his policies you are a racist.’ Hmm?
As the Brits say, “Spot on.”
Karen is accusing us of being disloyal to Christie, when in fact it is quite the other way around.
In their eyes, Obama can do no wrong: He’s against gay marriage? thats ok; he’s for gay marriage? that’s great. Smoking is bad, except when BHO does it, then…it’s ok. Obama doesn’t want to raise the debt ceiling for Bush, great! BHO wants to raise debt ceiling now? Why deny him? He’s the Hugo Chavez of the north.
I think you made that up. Because he didn’t talk tough at the convention he talked about himself and his mother. And nobody liked it let alone loved it. So your premise is without foundation.
Furthermore, a “moderate” is just someone who does incremental Liberalism.
Please provide a quote of any poster on this forum. k, thanks, bye.
It’s not about his children, or yours.
It’s about how O’Bama is insulated from reality.
He doesn’t think, even once a day, that his kids could be in danger….
We the People don’t have that luxury…..
Get back to your roots and THINK……
On the bright side, at least he’s coming out of the closet early. He’s done for any national office in 2016.
What a laughable ass
Someones up for election in a democrat leaning state….
Chris Christie, turn in your frigging Republican card and get out of GOP. Conservatives should shun him completely. Damn fat turncoat.
What’s most reprehensible is how Christie bends over and takes it in the rump from Barack Obama at the drop of a frekkin’ hat. Christie is becoming a bigger media whore than both the Obamas put together.
Ghastly visual…please…no more.
Just come out of the closet already. We can smell progressive on you a mile away. Sheesh.
Where do Krispy Kristie’s kids go to school?
The worst part of the NRA ad is they failed to mention that Preezy (and David Gregory’s) kids go to Sidwell Friends School, which routinely employs about a dozen armed guards to protect all their wealthy students.
So a truthful add that is MUCH less reprehensible than the average from the left doesn’t make the big guy happy. Tissue? Time for more of this type of response from the conservative side of things!!
From the looks of it, if anyone knows what’s distasteful it surely that giant cakehole….
is that what the “R” after his name means…”Reprehensible”? his handling of Sandy was widely lauded, but i saw a blubbering, frightened little (?) child.
Chris Christie is a giant, fat, sebum-filled, cyst on the backside of the Republican party.
Switch to a D already. I have never liked this man. His little yappy dog routine grew old the 1st 5 minutes. Rude does not equal conservative no matter what Ann Coulter says.
Who is this toad, and what has he done with Chris Christie?
I would like to see my daughter, a teacher, also have her own bodyguard
Here will be your RINO that the DNC media and the pundits like Ann Coulter will push in 2016. The DNC media is already beginning to push him.
Can anyone say pussified RINO!!!
Countdown to Christie joining the Democratic Party in 1, 2, 3 going going gone! ….
He should enjoy the fawing media coverage ‘cuase it ain’t going to last.
I predict Chris Christie goes the way of Charlie Crist or Arlen Specter soon… Other than his fight against the public school unions, there really isn’t anything ‘conservative’ about him.
The Second Bloomberg cometh. I sincerely hope he defects sooner rather than later #lost all respect
Put a D beside his name.
Not as reprehensible as thee, Governor C.
I used to think he was ok,but it turns out he’s a phony lib in disguise
Message to all GOP candidates. DO NOT EVER GIVE A RAT’S ASS ABOUT WHAT THE LOSER LSM OR THEIR LITTLE SOCIAL CIRCLE THINKS. THEY ARE PATHETIC, ALWAYS HAVE BEEN ALWAYS WILL BE.
That would work if the RINOpublican party was not taken over by Marxists.
Christie is not on the NRA payroll. Someone at the NRA is getting his a** chewed out.
very, very doubtful. Christi is a meteor, flashing brightly for less than a second, nd then going back to being a “reasonable, reach-across-the-aisle” fellow. Real Republicans say 2 plus 2 is 4 and they are called “extreme”. Democrats say 4 minus 3 is 42 and they are called “reasonable”…”serious thinkers” ….”seeking fair and balanced solutions”, Hard to argue with that kind of serious, reasonable, and balanced thinkers when you’re an extremist who thinks 2 plus 2 is 4.
Dear Governor Krispey Kreme: Shut up, fata$$.
So, is being a a NE Moderate Republican Darling, just one step away from being all-out, nanny-state Liberal?
Chris Marxistie is just doing the leftwingwackos bidding.
You know whats offensive is this pig’s pandering!
