The power of Twitter: Taft High kids convince Stan Lee to reach out to shooting victim Bowe Cleveland; Update: Lee records video for Bowe

After 16-year-old Bryan Oliver allegedly shot classmate Bowe Cleveland last week at Taft Union High School in Taft, Calif., students launched a Twitter campaign to persuade Spider-Man creator Stan Lee to visit their injured friend in the hospital. Cleveland is a huge fan of Spider-Man.

After a full week of #StanLeeMeetBowe tweets, Lee finally responded on Tuesday.

The teens were thrilled with their success and grateful to Lee for responding.

So what’s next for the Taft High community?

C’mon, Tobey Maguire. Make it happen!
