Americans to sneering actor Matthew Modine: ‘Yes, I have used a gun in self-defense’

Yesterday, actor Adam Baldwin, Fox News contributor Steven Crowder and other happy warriors shredded the alleged arguments of the sanctimonious ass known as actor Matthew Modine. The Constitution is archaic and stuff and Modine is totally enlightened, unlike you bitterly clinging rubes. In between pitifully spamming actor Adam Baldwin, Modine offered this nonsense:

Asked, and answered, Mr. Modine. Try getting out of your Hollyweird bubble sometimes. Start with these Twitter users, who helpfully try to explain the real world.

This is part of the real war on women. Oh-so-enlightened men like Matthew Modine would rather a woman remain defenseless, unable to protect herself from attack.

Others provide more examples, which Mr. Modine would know about were he to ever take his head out of the California sand.

And this Twitter user drives the point home in a heart-breaking way.

We are so sorry for your loss.

Aside from being a know-nothing, Mr. Modine is also showing typical liberal hypocritical colors.

You profit of that industry, don’t you, Mr. Modine? Do you use all that sweet, sweet cash to protect your family? Maybe a nice fortress built out of hundred-dollar bills? That would work, with some hugs and warm fuzzies.

Or do you, you know, have security?

Security for me, but not for thee, perhaps. He’s enlightened and all.

Twice I have been saved an altercation because of having my sidearm. In both cases I never had to unholster. Having the miscreant know that it was there was a deterrent. The second one almost became a statistic. His judgement saved him that night.

  • RIChris

Gun Control: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.

    • b_truit

I’m in law enforcement so to the liberals I do not count…
However the fact of the matter: my firearm(s) have stopped criminals hundreds of times. Sometimes they require firing them to stop criminals, sometimes not.
Moral of the story: good people with firearms are only thing to stop bad people with firearms. I do not fear law abiding citizens with firearms, in fact I suggest they get them, I can’t be everywhere at once.

when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. but try explaining that to a liberal.

Thanks for your service to the citizens of your jurisdiction.

You know, the next time the press tries the “gotcha” question about rape and abortion, the person being questioned should say something to the effect of:

“If we stopped demonizing guns and instead encouraged women to carry and learn to properly use firearms for their own protection, they could shoot the b*stard BEFORE they get raped, and we wouldn’t even have to have this conversation.”

  • Cruz2016!!!

Why do Americans continue to support these lame actors anyway? Why do these actors think their voice is more important than the voices who support them?

  • JustLikeAnimals

Me? July 3, 2006. Shot intruders in my home while I was stabbed 6 times (once in the chest). Without my Glock, I’d be dead right now.

    (Who’s Matthew Modine?)

    • TugboatPhil

      Very grateful for your recovery.

see, gun control works. you shot them.
      glad you made it.

      • JustLikeAnimals

        Thank you, too. =)

    • Lisa Dean

Very thankful that you were able to still use your Glock even after being stabbed. God bless.

    • WisconsinPatriot

Let me summarize, if I may; You demonstrated perfect control of your weapon, it performed as designed, you(the victim) walked away(in a manner of speaking) to continue to be a productive member of society. True gun control, it really works.

Glad to hear you had your gun. going to take my 23 yr. old daughter shooting, we want to get licensed to carry.

Yep. CCW is the only way to go.

Thanks God you made it-and that the bad guy didn’t. All the best!

          • JustLikeAnimals

Oh, the bad guy made it, too. He actually came into the ER as I was down the hallway in a 7 hour surgery. Him and his two buddies are still in prison. Life is good. =)

      • PennyRobinsonFanClub

Sheesh, good luck if you’re still in Boston. Here in New Bedford they do not give CC to first-time permits.

  • Lord Foggybottom

My cousin could have used a gun the night she and her fiancé were stabbed to death and thrown over a bridge in – of all places – Cedar Rapids, IA. Violent crime isn’t just for the big cities…

    • Lord Foggybottom

And I could have used a gun one night in New Orleans when I was mugged. Oh, and then there’s that time my house was broken into when I was home…

    • bluewaternavy

I grew up in VERY rural Montana-where crime is almost nil. One day a bad guy walked into the cafe my dad and myself were at. He pulled a Lady Smith, my Dad and the rest of the boys pulled out .357’s and 440 magnums. Bad guy didn’t get anything beside a number of new A/C vents in him
BTW, the sheriff was one of the men there 😉

  • u_scruffy_nerf_herder

My uncle when he was a teenager shot an intruder. He was home alone sick while my dad and grandparents were out and two men broke through the front door. They got away with only the bullet that was in one crook’s arm.

with modine’s logic, i don’t need airbags in my car, a fire extinguisher in my kitchen, smoke alarms in my house… i think you get the point

    • TomJB

Hell, when was the last time Modine needed life insurance?

  • RightThinking1

Too bad neither Nichole Brown nor Ron Goldman had a gun. Perhaps they would not have been murdered by knife-wielding O.J.

Or if perhaps one of Sharon Tate’s friends had been armed, then perhaps she and four others would not have died.

“Gun-free” didn’t work out so well for them did it?

obama’s policies have left the citizens of border states vulnerable to attack,
by criminals from Mexico. Weapons capable of a robust defense ARE necessary.

  • Pablo

You profit of that industry, don’t you, Mr. Modine?

Indeed, he does. Hey, what is that thing in his right hand?

how in the world do these anti-gun people rationalize their decisions on who is worthy of armed defense and who must call someone with a gun when they find themselves in peril?

    • JustLikeAnimals

Superiority complex. They see themselves as better, smarter, more informed, and more responsible than the average citizen. They live their lives in cocoons in which sycophants trail behind them all day long telling them how righteous, worthy, and magnificent they are, and in their sick, emotionally needy states, they believe it.

My then girlfriend, now wife, had a an ex who liked to gang up with his buddies and beat on people. He would start stuff then run to his firends. They followed me one night, after makign numerous threats, which I had reported. I have no doubt they were looking for the chance to jump me. I pulled over, got out of the car with my handgun at my side, never pointing it at anything except the ground….the looks on their faces was “priceless’…I never had another issue. In fact, they went from harassing me to avoiding me.

My husband held his scope on a crazy guy who was crawling around in the trees in our backyard when we lived in Houston. I was on the phone with 911 and waiting on the cops to get there. The operator had the nerve to tell me to put the guns down…I told her she better get someone out there p.d.q. ‘cuz if he so much as touched our back door…he was getting shot. Cops picked him up one street over…strung out on drugs. When the police came in to take a statement…they didn’t even mention the 20 gauge my husband had or my .38 laying out in plain sight. The rank and file know that honest citizens are on their side…and help keep the peace… As a fervent gun rights supporter, I’m glad I’ve never had to pull the trigger on anyone. The left, however, thinks we’re all just itching to kill! They are so wrong…

  • JoH113

When I was a kid, a neighbor ran for her life to our house in the middle of the night. Her husband had beat her and stabbed her in the arm. My parents, thankfully, heard her screaming, woke up, and let her in our house, but not before our neighbor’s crazed, coked up husband stabbed her one more time as my mom pulled her inside. Dad shot him twice in the leg and kept the gun on him as we called 911. Thank God my parents were able to help her. I have no doubt the bastard would have followed her into our house and and gone right on stabbing her if my dad hadn’t stopped him with bullets

  • TundraThunder

I’d like to know why so many Hollyweirdos need body guards and armed guards. They’re not more important than the rest of us . . . . except in their own minds. Play acting must be dangerous.

    • Sincerely —

And if you want to see more hypocrisy, take a look at Modine’s IMDB page

Most of them I’ve never heard of, but it was certainly okay for him to profit off of the glorification of violence in The Dark Knight Rises and Full Metal Jacket.

What I find really sad is that he was in a TV movie: “Hitler: The Rise of Evil.” Obviously he learned nothing from that experience.

ETA: This is classic. I just read the reviews on IMDB on the Hitler movie. This is an excerpt on Modine.

These performances carry the mini series along, easily overcoming occasional weaknesses in the script. There is one exception. Regrettably, Matthew Modine’s acting chops just aren’t up to snuff. His noble lunk-haid journalist ruins every scene he has — the viewer can hardly wait for Rohm’s brown-shirts to stomp that smug, righteous look off his ignorant, corn-pone low-rent Hollywood golden boy face. But the story still works.

  • annoyinglittletwerp

I bought my first handgun a month ago-though I was raised around guns, I’ve never owned one-and just applied for my CHL. I’m a petite, middle-aged woman…and I REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM!

Who? Who is this Matthew Modine? Famous Physician? Scientist? Cured cancer? Done anything worthwhile? Saved lives? What? An actor? An effing celeb? Pointless asshat then?

Leftwingwackos say we can’t allow people to defend their families. We must make sure thugs, criminals, rapists and murderers can do whatever they want and not be stopped by ordinary civilians.

Remember: You don’t need guns, the police will be there in a half an hour. Just keep the criminals at bay with your empty hands until they arrive.
