Sean Hannity has fill of gun control baloney: ‘I gotta get outta New York’

Conservative talker Rush Limbaugh abandoned tax-happy New York City for Florida years ago. Glenn Beck relocated his Mercury Radio Arts headquarters from New York to Texas. Will Fox News’s Sean Hannity be next out the door?

There’s something about that #guncontrolbaloney hashtag that leads us to suspect it’s not high taxes that has Hannity making rumblings about moving. Earlier today, Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law what some have called the toughest gun control restrictions in the nation. The new legislation does take steps to protect the privacy of gun permit holders, but that comes a bit too late to help Hannity, who was among those “outed” by incoming Gawker editor-in-chief John Cook.

So, where to?

Correction: The initial version of this post incorrectly stated that Hannity’s gun permit was outed by the Journal News and its interactive map. In fact, Hannity’s gun ownership was reported by incoming Gawker editor-in-chief John Cook in August 2010. At the time, Cook wrote for Yahoo! News.  We regret the error.

I left NYC years ago and am happier, healthier and don’t have to listen to all the liberal crap. I also make more money which goes way further. I am not taxed to death and I’m not afraid to go anywhere for fear of crime. I can leave my car unlocked. I can leave my garage door open all day. I know my neighbors and we look out for each other.

Isn’t his wife from Georgia? If so, I bet he moves there. What’s keeping him in NY anyway? Both his radio and TV shows are nationally broadcast.

He met her in Huntsville, Ala. when he was a radio host there. Not sure if that’s where she grew up or not.

so glad I left NY 2.5 yrs ago… it is a shadow of what it used to be – the capital of the world. now it’s the capital of stupidity. I live in the state where everyone clings to their guns & God. the schools close for 1st day of hunting season. it’s safe, clean and people are hardworking stiffs who are patriotic! the best 4th of July celebration in the country and I don’t miss my native NYC for one minute because it no longer exists except in my fond memories.

A full 100% of all of the imagery a child will ever see where guns are used to kiII people comes from the Left …. straight up. Whether it’s movies, video games or gangsta rap …. it all comes from the Left!

But I see ZERO accountability here from the Left, no desire to reign in those Dems who glorify gun violence …. just rampant finger pointing and unmistakable demagoguery. So the Left, through their failed keynesian policies, have created impoverished communities and then feeds them toxic and influential music and imagery and games where it’s fun to kiII people.

It seems to me the Left desperately needs to clean their own house and not punish the Right by banning guns from all of us just for all of the Left’s epic lapses in judgement.

Come to Texas, Sean. We have no state income tax here, and the cost of living is cheap.

    • Hiraghm

Yeah, but your southern border borders on Mexico, whereas ours just borders on Texas. You have to admit, the advantage there is ours… 😀

      • Basset_Hound

I was born and raised in Tulsa. Oklahoma is another fine state. A pro-life female governor, and not ONE county went for Obama. But the down side is that Oklahoma DOES have a state income tax.

in 1909 my grandfather was born in a Germany which was rapidly approaching a world war. He left as an infant, for the New Land, and grew up in the Bronx, eventually settling on Staten Island. He left a nation torn by fascism and extremism, and eventually spent WWII rebuilding ships in the NY Naval yards as a master welder, to help defeat his homeland, when it had gone wrong…

In 1959, my grandfather realized NYC was no longer a place for a family, and moved south, where he taught himself electronic engineering, and landed a position working in the space industry. There he was able to proudly watch his handiwork go to the moon and back, raise a family in peace, and pursue the American dream.

My grandfather told me on his deathbed, the best thing he ever did was to leave NYC.. That was a decade ago. I remember it like it was yesterday. I’ve been to NYC a few times on business. hate it. It is a socialist hellhole.

When the economy collapses around the socialist states (like NY), the city rats will pour out, looking for food, gas, and beer. They’ll be buying with bullets, not money…..

    Leave while you can.

Left California a decade ago, got to Texas as fast as I could!

    • texaswc

Yep…My mother was raised in Texas…I was born in Cali while my dad was in Viet Nam…We got back to Texas while I was just a toddler and I’ve never left, except for Military duty…Nice part was that about 18 months of my 6 1/2 yrs of service was in Texas at San Antonio… 😉

POTUS wants all weapons registered the day you purchase it. That is nowhere in the constitution. ON the other hand to run for the office of president you must prove being born in the U.S.A. So potus wants back ground checks, you know like we want to know his college records. he says these background checks could maybe even take up to a year. His birth certificate took 3 years, but i suppose that’s how long it takes a good counterfitter. What if the public doubted him and forced a background check on him that would have lasted a year. After all the law is the law. RIGHT!!!!

Not to mention the border jumpers. No papers? No problem! Hey, we’ll even call those who want to ask the question racists.

Come to Louisiana! Our newly enacted “Proposition 2” passed with 75% of the vote. The prop changed the Louisiana State Constitution Article 1, Section 11 to read:

§11. Right to Keep and Bear Arms

“The right of each citizen to keep and bear arms is fundamental

and shall not be infringed. Any restriction on this right shall be subject to strict scrutiny.”

    http://legis.la.gov/billdata/streamdocument.asp?did=812575

    • Hiraghm

restriction… on a “right”… and that comes AFTER “shall not be infringed”. Why do people have such trouble understanding that word?

      • texaswc

The last 4 words of the 2nd Amendment are always ignored except in repeating the whole amendment…I think they get ignored because the politicians and anti-gun zealots don’t want to answer what they understand those words to mean, considering they are plain English and leave nothing to the imagination since they are very clear and concise…So, the same possibility probably would apply to the Louisiana Constitution…..

  • walterc

The problem with new yorkers moving out is that they tend to bring their liberalism with them. Just look what the californicators have done to Colorado. But a card carrying Conservative like Hannity is more than welcome in Wyoming.

    • texaswc

This gun debate stuff has made me aware of some pretty kewl states, Wyoming being one of those….though I really hate driving across the state on the southern route along 80, between Salt Lake and Cheyenne, it’s quite barren, LOL…but nice nonetheless, awesome countryside…

  • LightSabre

Hey Sean, I understand you have a vacation home in Naples, FL, about 30 miles south of where I live. Why don’t you move down here full-time. Hopefully, we’d run into each other at one of the wine tastings or on the beach!
