Oprah on Armstrong: ‘Didn’t come clean in manner expected’; Will air full Lance Armstrong interview, no edits

Last night, Twitter was buzzing over Oprah’s interview with Lance Armstrong, in which he reportedly confessed to doping. “I am so shocked,” said no one. The interview went on for 2.5 hours, but was originally to be edited down to 90 minutes. Evidently, that has changed. Oprah went on CBS’ “This Morning” earlier today.

Some highlights from Oprah’s interview with CBS:

Creepy Sarah Palin stalker, author Joe McGinniss weighs in. Like many, he calls out the crocodile tears. Hey, a blind squirrel can find a nut sometimes, we suppose.

Hello, pot! Meet kettle.

And, boy, does Joe know low.

Oprah Winfrey says that the full, unedited video will air over two nights.

Zing! One Twitter user offers a potential benefit (or detriment, depending upon how you look at it) to the overly hyped interview.

Stay tuned! If you can.

you’;d have to be a real numbskull to not know that Armstrong was doping all those years. people lie ALL THE TIME, unfortunately.

  • http://apostrophejones.com/ Gloves Donahue, Jr.

I would watch 2 and a half hours of Armstrong confessing to Oprah, but I prefer to kick bricks with my bare feet down at the dump.
Just tell us the ending, Opie, how many Hail Marys do you give him to do?

Said exactly what I’m thinking, only the last sentence is much better. Thanks.

Ohhh, he confessed to St. Oprah so now we’re supposed to forgive and revel in his honesty? No, I revile him for his immorality and outright criminality. The answers were difficult for him, he was “ready” “forthcoming” “met the moment”–yeah, was it difficult for him while he was lying and ruining all the lives he ruined? Was he ready, forthcoming and did he meet the moment when he was crushing others? What a despicable disgraceful person. And of course the ratings ho’ Oprah has to milk the interview for 2 nights cuz her network sucks so bad she’s got nothin’ else to show.

    • Sheerie Knoll

He lied for 10 years. That is not someone who is “forthcoming”.

  • ratizbad

We know now( Not like we didn’t know)The two biggest liars.,And of course the Lame Lame stream Media refusing to air any dirty laundry of the Liberal criminal machine. America is full of bullshitters,Did you hear that, Hussein and Lance, and a slew of others?

I expect that about a year from now, he’ll go back on Orcrah’s show to announce that he’ll be running for Preezy in 2016 as a Democrat. And they’ll vote for him.

  • laughterjones

Story that is lost on most people here is, the reason he was stricken of his titles was because of a federal agency. Yes. Your taxes go to an agency who oversees private enterprises such as professional cycling. $16T in debt, but hey! We caught the tour de france cheater! /lesigh

    • $41341954

At the very least it looks like the Postal Service has a good chance of recovering its sponsorship costs through a qui tam fraud suit against Lance with treble damages. The approx $10M for USADA seems like a good investment if we can get $120M back from this cheat.

When is she going to hear Obama’s confession? Just kiddin lol. We know he’ll NEVER come clean.

    • Garth Haycock

She’s not interested in Obama telling the truth.

  • Garth Haycock

Armstrong is a cheater and there is no excuse for it, but I’m curious what Fathead – I call her fathead because she has a fat head; it looks like one of those paper mâchét heads you see in a Mardi Gras parade – expect? Did she want him to throw himself at her feet and beg for mercy? Did she want him to grovel?

NB: what I’m typing here I am typing in earnest, no sarcasm intended.

I honestly don’t understand the level of venom.

This is what my thoughts are, maybe someone can explain what I am obviously missing.

Did the man lie? It seems so, but I don’t know. His titles were stripped by a government agency, which is why I’m less than confident of the truth of the charges. After having watched what can be, and is politicized — even in the hard sciences where such “one-hand-washing-the-other” stuff would be hard to pull we see it. I can’t imagine what type of funny business could be hidden here.

But, even granting that he did cheat and lie, I don’t know how that could “destroy lives” — unless it’s hyperbole, which I guess is possible.

But the man doesn’t rob and plunder under the color of the laws, as the politicians do. He hasn’t acted as a propagandist to spread the lies that the controlling class uses to “manipulate the peons”.

If you’re going to get acid stomach over a world is full of dishonest people who aren’t trying to control your life by remote or herd their fellow citizens like brain-damaged cattle you’re going to have ulcers all your life and nothing left for the evil those “human husbandry experts” inflict on you! You’re going to wear yourself out over someone who really doesn’t matter.

    Has he expressed political aspirations?

I’m not trolling, I really don’t understand the level of anger.

Oblamer lies every time he opens his mouth and nothing is said or done to him as he takes all the perks and more of the office. Armstrong lied? So what. It doesn’t affect my life at all. Oblamer lying does. Another nothing story to deflect from what matters.

  • notenoughtime

There is no reason for a interview to go on for 2 days other than ratings and keeping viewers hooked. Armstrong can clear his conscious in 30 minutes and certainly can do it in a news conference and not on Oprah’s couch.
