As Twitchy reported, last week, GOP Rep. Phil Gingrey foolishly gave credence to Todd Akin’s thoughts on “legitimate rape.” Shocking perhaps only to Gingrey, people didn’t take kindly to the remarks — and it seems that he didn’t take kindly to their criticism. Twitterers hoping to peruse more of his thoughts on the female reproductive system are being greeted with this when they try to access his official feed:
Understandably, they’re terribly upset:
Well, @RepPhilGingrey is dead in the water after his comments on rape and support of magazine bans. So long.—

Looks like #Republican @RepPhilGingrey shut down his twitter account? Must have got tired of people calling him an idiot?—

C’mon, Rep. Gingrey. Canceling your account is pretty drastic. Why so uptight? A nice glass of wine would loosen you right up.
