Newly crowned Miss America from New York makes anti-gun noises; Viewers not so impressed; Update: Audio link added

Miss New York Mallory Hagan won the Miss America pageant tonight. The clincher? Her views on guns.  She opposes armed guards in schools because she doesn’t want to “fight violence with violence,” and she apparently wants guns “locked up.”

It’s elementary, dear:

In related news: Staten Island, N.Y. residents voted for armed guards in their kids’ schools. Montpelier, Ohio, residents want to arm school janitors. And the White House is now reportedly considering funds for armed police officers in schools — after the Left crucified the NRA for proposing exactly the same thing.

Fighting “violence with violence?” Ask Miss America.

Newsbusters has just posted the audio. Transcript:

I don’t think the proper way to fight violence is with violence. I think the proper way is to educate people on guns and the ways that we can use them properly. We can lock them up, we can have gun safety classes, we can have a longer waiting period. The answer is not to fight violence with violence, however.

  • Bob Smooper

    Wise lady! We support you!

    • TheAmishDude

Would you please post your home address?

    • kch50428

We? got a turd in your pocket?

      • Rabid

        Musket Morgan is his hero…

      • lainer51

or you just glad to see her?

    • carla5731

New York City is full law-abiding citizens who wouldn’t ever hurt anyone. That’s why the mayor instituted a stop-and-frisk policy that he’s very proud of.

    • RDH1988

In Thessalonians it says those in the last days would come under a delusion…and the time would come when the fools would think themselves wise…that would be those of you who really believe ANOTHER gun law will get rid of EVIL people!!

    • SineWaveII

You have a mouse in your pocket?

I will support my family , by having an armed guard inside at all times. Mr. Cooper read the 2nd amendment and if your brave enough to come disarm me, please you are welcome anytime.

    • lainer51

I bet that made her day! LMAO

  • Renny

Which America is she? Not mine.

    • Bruce Newman

No, she’s New York. That ain’t Merica!

      • Charles H. Plymail

        She’s a transplant from Alabama

        • Andrea Huber

          And your point is?

      • SERT49

She moved to New York from Alabama just 4 years ago, she’s a Southerner.

        • Yvonne M Fields

maybe that explains it. I’ma transplant from NY to GA and it hasn’t changed my personal thoughts one bit, We need to pray, pray, pray for our USA citizens to quit thinking it’s all about them and that they are the reason they are where they are in life.. Rich and liberal is a dangerous combination. Without God they would not have a thing. HE needs to get the Praise not they need to get their own applause.

correct I do not recognize the people as New York

    • debra steinman

“Which America is she?” She’s in “Useful_Tools_are_We”.

    • RadicalRebelWhoMeToo

      Miss Un-America

    • Humanity4Humans

      Communist America apparently.

    • 44Grim

There’s only 1 America, and answers like hers are a great home school advocate. WE need to be teaching our kids, not the government.

    • Dan Lindberg

I think she must be from Central or South America

      • SERT49

She’s from Alabama originally so I guess that means she’s from South America.

    • Jason van Velden

America is individualistic, less guns is good for the common good, but that is seen as communism……other similar countries have far less shootings. The gun lobby supported by walmart is too strong.

  • Rob

    As guns don’t kill people, people do;
Tiaras don’t make pageant winners. Agendas do.

    • Garth Haycock

You stated it just as it is. Brilliant.

    • Samh09

Or it could be just as I told singer and actress @Cher. Guns don’t kill people. TREES DO! Come on, people! You need to think Sonny Bono. Yes, I know. I know. I’m bad. What can I say? Except here come the thumbs down. DOH!

      • Paula Noakes

Hey, no thumbs down from me! Has @cher blocked you yet? Just wait … she hates disagreement, especially when facts are on your side.

        • Samh09

I don’t know if she has blocked me. How do I know if she did? I have not been blocked by anyone yet.

        • LibLieExposer

Don’t know if @cher blocked samh09 but cher’s face has c*ck blocked straight men worldwide.

      • peteee363

just like you don’t die from jumping off a tall building, you die from choking on cement. they call it cement poisoning. and locking up guns is a great idea, then they won’t just aimlessly kill people, remember guns just load themself, and pull the trigger. wackjobs are never at fault, it is the tool they use that is to blame. if o.j. simpson was only kept away from that gun, his ex wife would be alive today/

        • peoplectr

I thought it was a knife???

        • Mark Holub

Umm..sorry to burst your bubble there, but in OJ’s case it was a big friggin’ knife.

          • Catchance

            He was being sarcastic.

          • peteee363

then why aren’t we banning knives? they seem to do the job? and i knew that, i just wanted to smoke out a liberal.

        • Yvonne M Fields

That’d how Hitler took over Germany and killed so many innocents.
When government wants us disarrmed….get ready for self survival.

    • Vennoye

Do any of us have surprised faces about her PC answer and subsequent win?

    • Jason van Velden

Less guns mans less shootings, why are there more incidents in the usa related to other similar countries? Bcause of availability of guns..

  • Brent Guthrie

Hmmm……wonder why she won the crown?

    • killdozerd11R

it wasn’t from suck’n on door knobs

  • Jon Dough

I don’t think most people care what Miss America thinks. Hasn’t that contest lost a lot of prestige lately?

    • CC

Tonight kind of confirmed that, the singing was awful and the other talents not the best. To top it off the comments were making me say, “What in the world did she just say?”

  • LoneRangler

Sooo, we fight violence with hugs?

    • Jer

In my extensive experience fighting violence, I find rainbows and unicorns more effective.

      • WingedBishop

        Don’t forget warm thoughts.

        • RadicalRebelWhoMeToo

          and Bubbles.

      • Ardell Simon

      • 44Grim

Only if you find the gold at the end of the rainbow, though… the luck of leprachauns sure helps!

      • mickeyco

We’re all going to break into “A Few of my FavoriteThings” any minute now.

so when an armed guy is attacking you, do not fight back, violence on violence is not the correct way, just lay there and die. have to love ignorance

    • JustLikeAnimals

Yeah, she should go hang out at a 7-11 on Saturday night and hug the thug who shows up with a 9mm to rob the joint. Can’t wait for that twitter rant! =)

    • Jason van Velden

More guns means more shootings, why are there so many incidents in the usa related to other countries? Because guns are everywhere…..

  • SAL

    The propaganda is endless…

  • TheKingJAK

Lol, within the school system where I grew up, we’ve had armed SROs ever since at least the 1980s. The SROs are great, and they’ve done wonders at preserving law & order, helping reach out to kids in need, and we liked ours so much that we featured them with students in group yearbook photos!

  • AmandaJeff Day

The anti-gun stance is the first step to “world peace,” which is a staple in beauty pageants. Maybe she can go on tour with the “US Americans” dingbat and talk about gun violence.

    • Darling_1

and hug some trees while she’s at it

      • Dean Greener

        …or a car bumper.

    • 1SkepticalChick

Ahh yes, that old standby. Visualize whirled peas.

  • Randi Starr

Be honest, we all know why she won and her brain had nothing to do with it.

    • Blake Waymire

But she wasn’t the most attractive, either. Nearly all of the other finalists were more attractive than NY. The judges seemed pretty biased toward NY even before the interview. Then again, libs like their women stupid.

      • 1SkepticalChick

        The pity vote.

      • SERT49

Blake she’s originally from Alabama, moved to New York just 4 years ago.

        • rickg62

See what just 4 years in NY does to you. Now you can understand the people who were raised there.

        • Blake Waymire

I was referring to NY as in Miss New York.

    • Catchance

I think she answered that specifically that way, knowing that was the answer the judges wanted to hear.

I remember a couple of years ago when a judge asked a contestant about Arizona’s SB1070 law, and she replied that she was a big believer in state’s rights. She was right, but it wasn’t what the judges wanted to hear. I knew she was going to lose, right then.

  • samazf

Bet she won’t complain about her armed security detail.

    • Guest

Exactly! During her ‘reign’ she will enjoy the protection of armed security just as Obama does and celebrities do. Heck, we even put armed guards in our government buildings and in banks to protect money. But, we can’t protect and ensure the safety of our children? Only the liberal (uninformed) and hypocritical can find logic in that.

  • JackBee

    Glorified models, who cares.

  • Jd1367

People actually watch that pageant with the volume on?

  • FreedomFighter

If she came out supporting gun rights, and if it were a liberal instead of Trump in control of this event, she would have been censored.

  • Rachel Jones

    I’ll point out

  • Jon Weiss

    Miss America…Typical New York Liberal.

    • RDH1988

      Typical liberal…not smart… :)

    • SERT49

Jon in case you didn’t know, she’s from Alabama, moved to Brooklyn just 4 years ago.

      • 1SkepticalChick

Kinda like Hillary Clinton did before running for Senator in NY.

      • Jon Weiss

She’s still acting like a New Yorker. I live in Kentucky, but I’m a native Oregonian, I’m just not liberal enough to be able to stand living on the leftist coast.

  • Rachel Jones

Oops! Hit send too fast. Miss New York actually hails from Alabama. I’m not sure how that works… being from there and then being Miss New York. I hate though people bad mouthing her. I don’t agree with her at all. But I have friends that grew up with her and say she’s a pretty good kid all around

    • dan

It works like Hillary being from Arkansas and becoming Sen. in NY!

    • Robin Palmer

      It’s not a reflection of whether she’s a good person. It’s a reflection of her un-American beliefs.

  • lissa

Two words? So what? She isn’t a politician, legislator, or voice of the people. She’s a pretty face, that’s all. Why does anything ANY beauty pageant contestant say matter? (answer: it doesn’t).

    • CC

Because she travels around the world as an ambassador representing our nation

  • lissa

She may be Miss America. But she is not Miss American.

  • Patrick Creeden

If she doesn’t like guns, that’s fine, no one’s forcing her to buy one.

  • Krista Yearwood

Meanwhile Miss Cali thought euthanasia was a vaccine. Folks, it ain’t like these girls are picked for their brains.

    • Robin Palmer

There are very intelligent girls in this pageant. It is a scholarship pageant, not a spokes mo pdel pageant like Miss USA. These girls go on to be Dr.’s, lawyers, scientist, etc. Miss Oklahoma is quit intelligent and quit talented. But, that doesn’t mean a few duds don’t slip through. Miss NY is not the best representitive of the US and although talent is one of the highest points piece of the pageant, hers were terrible. I think the problem was the judges in the final round.

      • Dan Lindberg

Why did Miss Oklahoma QUIT being intelligent and talented?

      • Andrea Huber

My experience as a pageant judge exposed me to the perils and pitfalls of judging. It is a tale too long to tell, but the final round can become a catastrophe. If one or more of the judges wants to elevate their choice by destroying the point count for the contestant whom they believe to be the closest competition, the person who should have been in third place can end up with the title.

    • dave9000

OMG, you mean those aren’t brains…I should have paid more attention in anatomy class. :)

    • JustLikeAnimals

The brain trusts of the country they ain’t!!

    • $36544368

…and Miss CA has a post-graduate degree! What’s up with that?

    • $36544368

…and Miss CA has a post-graduate degree! What’s up with that?

  • Kathy Skaggs

    Yes they are that stupid.

    • Dean Greener

I’ll bet she can wave, though!

  • dwsmokin

When was the last time a beauty contest winner’s opinion had ANY credibility whatsoever? Who cares?

  • Leslie Y.

I can’t understand it. This girl was born and raised in Alabama. I betcha she knew if she gave any other answer she’d lose.

  • Mike O Smith

this needs to go viral the truth about crime/gun laws please repost.

  • Marvin Knoll

Everyone knows the women in these pageants, especially the winners aren’t exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. I am soo glad this crap wasn’t on tv, or if it was I sure didn’t notice. This crap is for vane, shallow, ignorant people, and therefore the opinions of these people are irrelevant.

    • Robin Palmer

It was on network TV and this is a scholarship pageant. Just because this person is a tool doesn’t mean Miss America contestants “aren’t the sharpest tools”.

      • 1SkepticalChick

Being sharp does not keep them from being tools, either. Her answer to the question exposes her need of sharpening. Twitchy is a great whetstone.

  • Dee Dee Brauer

sickening! we shouldn’t fight violence with violence she says… So what does she think we should do, line up to get executed like good little victims? I’m not watching any more pageants~ just another way for the left to push their agenda…gross

    • 44Grim

Just wait until the awards shows get here… celebrities awarding celebrities and bashing conservatism.

  • Jer

We can’t fight violence with violence? So I guess we went about that WWII thing all wrong.

    • Shawn

Like my grandfather told me one time, why did I even fight in WWII if people are going to act like stupid idiots.

  • MrsMartinez0709

She is a moron. I grew up woth her and she is a complete tool… Case in point. This is a Miss America that makes us all look.bad.

  • Gracie OMalley

    Hint! She’s BLOND!

  • Jack Deth

Evidently “violence” is new “world peace”.

An inane question put forth to an inane celebrity wannabe in an inane contest.

  • Kyle Richard Thérèse George
  • Patricia Hill Stokes Zoeller

I suppose she plans to… homeschool? Or would a more polically correct solution be to greet the offender at the school gates with sufficating HUGS?

  • ThorOdinson

So if some guy breaks into her home intent on raping her to death I guess she won’t be calling the police and having them rush over with their guns? After all, fighting violence with violence isn’t the answer, apparently…

    • TugboatPhil

She could call the police, but they’d have to lock up their guns before responding.

  • Alan Selch

What are you going to tell the scared single mom whose ex is stalking her and has threatened to kill her and her kids and has repeatedly violated restraining orders, that she has to wait how long before she can aquire the means for her defense?

    • TugboatPhil

Alan, There is a picture that’s been around the interwebs for a long time. It shows a ponytailed lady firing a handgun at a downrange target. She’s wearing a white t-shirt that reads:

Gun Control: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.

Regressives never want to acknowledge that firearms are an especially fine “equalizer” for a small woman against a large, male attacker.

      • mickeyco

        very nice, Phil- as always

  • ozconservative

She probably had to say that to win, in spite of what she might actually believe. She should have taken a leaf out Carrie Prejeans book.

  • Eric M

Let’s give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was told how to respond to ridiculous questions like this in a way that is acceptable to the left so she doesn’t end up being destroyed like Carrie Prejean.

    • Robin Palmer

Let’s not give her the benefit of the doubt. If you don’t believe it and you can’t own what you do believe, then you need to sit down and let the big girls play.

      • 1SkepticalChick

  • Sylvilagus Aquaticus

BZZZZZT…”Sorry, wrong answer. You fight violence with overwhelming violence. Thanks for playing, and here’s a box of Rice-A-Roni,the San Francisco Treat as a consolation prize.”

  • CC

She was awesome with her talent, poised in her gown, and gorgeous in her swimsuit, but honestly, the answer about guns knocked her off her pedestal. Educate people about guns? The people causing harm with guns are not enrolling in any classes, trust me on this one

  • Michael Rice

They use to give questions that were scroed based on the poise of the pose of teh answer, framing fo teh answer, etc. Now, they are all just graded on their political correctness. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened.

  • HARP2

Let her live in a commie country for a year and see if she will Miss America.

  • syvyn11

I just remember poor Carrie Prejean. She was set to mow down the competition and then came the question and answer. And she dared to stand up for marriage being between a man and a woman and family values. I remember how judge Shanna Moakler said that comment ruined her chances, I remember how Gay Professional bully Perez Hilton called her every name in the book, how Keith Olbermann and Michael Musto (in their little love nest called Countdown) insulted her (including calling her a slut and a man) And I remember how they stripped her of the title of Miss California.

That was a message to the ladies. Conservatives need not apply. And it seems that the new Miss America is a idiot.

  • JD SPS

Awesome, another bimbo throws her $.02 in to the fray…

  • mary

If she would have said anything pro second amendment, she probably would have had her crown taken away. Not to defend her, but I believe she was told what to say.

    • Robin Palmer

If you can’t “say” what you believe and own your words then you shouldn’t put yourself up as a public figure. If it is worth selling her belief system to own a crown, then she doesn’t deserve the crown.

  • $3838536

If Miss New York had said she was an NRA member who owned a fire-arm, she would not be Miss America this morning.

    • Joel A. Edge

    • 1SkepticalChick

They’d have moved her to the Sarah Palin column.

  • catholic_citizen

Why don’t we just tack on a life without parole for anyone committing a crime with an illegally possessed firearm? That’s gun control that makes sense. Why? Because it punishes people who break the law. Oooops – we don’t do that anymore here, do we?

  • Guest

Miss America? ….? Ohhhh, you mean that show where hot skanks walk about in bikinis and have the accumulated IQ of 12? I love that show!

  • Elise77

That’s right. You don’t fight violence with violence. When someone comes at you with a gun, you recite poetry to them. I suggest the Jabberwocky. Be sure to use an English accent and lots of hand gestures.
And if that fails, there’s always weeping and begging for your life. I’m sure nobody tried that in Newtown.

  • $129448

Why is she relevant at all? I don’t give a crap what a beauty queen says.

  • Stone Bryson

No offense to former crown-winner Gretchen Carlson, but the day I start taking political advice from Miss America is the day I volunteer for my lobotomy… one administered without the benefit of anesthesia.

  • NY199827

It doesn’t matter what side you fall on everyone has a right to their opinion with out being demonized for it!! everyone touts the first amendment, well lets all live by it!!

    • lainer51

does that apply to Carrie Prejean also? She got skewered for her “opinion”..

    • dmacleo

you’re saying people are allowed to express an opinion and NOT allowed to express one in the same statement.

    • mickeyco

She’s not being demonized. She’s being called out for stupidity. As she has a right to say what she thinks, we have a riht to say her thinking is stupid.

  • Randy C. Lindsey

I had an idea. Instead of locking up the guns, how about we lock up the criminals. Just a thought.

    • lainer51

there you go again, Randy, being logical… please stop that! It throws the libs off balance.

    • dmacleo

      or shoot them.
      screw being PC about it.

  • disqus_LASIg6epmj

After the demonization of Carrie Prejean, I’m sure all contestants now try to give either the PC answer or a neutral one.

  • Steve_J

It’s not fighting violence with violence. It is called self defense.

  • bonnieblue2A

Another clueless hoplophobe who has such disdain for an inanimate object that she places the trained LEO protecting children at school in the same category as the psychopathic mass murderer.

Sadly, critical thinking is not a skill in this Miss America’s repertoire.

    • mickeyco

Critcal thinking isn’t a skill of anyone who’s gone to U.S. public schools in the last 30 or more years

  • lainer51

why did someone from Alabama win under the guise of Miss New York?

  • Josephine (D)

Wow, nothing like alternately using pretty airheads to parade around in bikinis and push an agenda.

BTW, if anyone has a daughter who wants to be in a pageant, I recommend National American Miss. The older girls don’t model bikinis, make-up is not allowed on the little girls, and judges choose you on personality and smarts.

  • Sandra Buchna

She will be on fox news giving the news reports with her dress up to her neck. Isnt this where they get all the bimbos.

    • Janet Silverstein

Sorry, Sandra, but look up the bios on all the Fox girls before you make such a sweeping, misogynistic, sexist statement. Maybe you should become educated before you make sweeping comments (trying) to be funny. The only pageant winner is Gretchen who turns out to be a top grad of an Ivy League school, not much of a bimbo, huh?

Yeah, they are gorgeous,, but they also have brains and successful careers {shocking, right?}. Megyn Kelly, Law degree from Albany, practicing lawyer 9 years before Fox; Dana Perino, Masters from Univ of IL and held the same job with Bush as James Carney (is he a himbo?); Kim Guilfoyle, law degree, San Fran prosecutor and LA defense atty and during school, Victoria Secret catalog model; Gretchen Carlson, yes, a pageant winner, who graduated cum laud from Stanford (hmm, Ivy League) and during her college time, she studied at Oxford. Monica Crowley, PhD in International Relations from Columbia (another Ivy League girl). I could go on,.

Looks like Fox hires smart, educated, successful business women who are beautiful. Isn’t that what the feminist wanted? More of these types of women in the workforce, front stage so young girls can see they can do a man’s job successfully. Aren’t you a hypocrite when you denigrate women by calling them bimbos? I am sure you got your feathers in a ruffle when Rush did the same to poor Sandra Fluke.

    • dmacleo

      war on women.

  • [email protected]

When are these airheads gonna’ figure it out that the American public does not want them to have any personal opinions about anything?

  • Terry Fowler

just another braindead bmbo,,, all silcone and no brain

  • Kenneth James Abbott

Did they choose Miss America or Miss Cuba?

The answer to criminal violence is to crush it with the selective use of force, you know, violence, but in the hands of the good guys. Ignorant bitch

  • aclay777

All this is to asinine to address. It’s a second amendment. What wasn’t posted is within the same 10 day period of those poor children’s travesty, that in two other locations, one armed victim, woman, saved herself and her children from an attacker; and second, an armed off duty policewoman save countless persons when an armed gunman killed his estranged girlfriend and headed for the movie theater to take countless lives but was stopped by an armed woman. Tragic as the one instant was, guns are the tool, it’s people. Congress and the President doesn’t see the state of the economy as a contributing factor making people hopeless. Yet wants to disarm the people but don’t have a clue how to disarm the criminal. Every-time as tragic as it was, what then happens you hear the most asinine remedies by elected officials, Diane Finstin ??? and she gets re-elected? We’re a bunch of idiots electing these people, write in ballots should be used in every election. Buy the way, gun sales soared to record levels in the past 6 weeks, as always.

  • Mia Lee

The only way you can stop a perpetrator is with a gun. They should have armed guards in schools.

  • Steven

This is why it’s a “Beauty Pageant” not a battle of the brains….Besides, I’ve seen better

  • grais

Yes, when a lunatic is pointing a gun at you, teach him how to use it safely.
    Beauty pageants are comedy shows.

  • Michael McDevitt

Honestly, how many are dumb enough to listen to one of these bimbos anyway. When is the last time a Miss America contestant actually said something intelligent?

  • Guest

Ok Miss America, here’s a little education for you: providing protection is NOT an act of violence. An example of “fighting violence with violence” would be two thugs battling it out on the streets….certainly not an armed guard in a school who will either deter a violent and evil perpetrator from committing a violent and evil act upon our children, or who will respond to the violent and evil act with equal or greater force.

You see, Miss America, providing protection for our children is a responsible and compassionate act and it is our duty. Beauty queen winners like yourself enjoy armed protection. Our President and politicians enjoy armed protection. Celebrities enjoy armed protection. We even protect our federal buildings and banks. Yet, we can’t protect our children?

Your response, as an American who enjoys the freedoms, liberties, and Rights that our Constitution affords, is hypocrisy at its worst. It’s shameful that you publicly stated that you support the infringement of our 2nd Amendment, our God-given natural Right to bear arms for the purpose of protection.

  • Andrea Howard Roberg

She’s not from New York, she’s really from Alabama. That goes against what most Alabamians believe in. Glad she didn’t represent Alabama.

    • SERT49

The thing is Andrea that now that she lives in NYC, she has to toe the Liberal line, or she’ll go nowhere. But not everybody from NY is a Liberal, there are more Conservatives than people realize living here.

  • SERT49

Miss “New York” is actually from Alabama and moved to Brooklyn just 4 years ago.

  • ClinkinKY

If Rosie O’Donnell had won Ms America (yeah, I know but this is bizarro world we live in right now:) would she have received a question about “spoon control”?

  • scrubjay

Political questions have no place in a beauty pageant. If the hottest babe said that the second amendment was to insure that a civilian population could overthrow a tyrannical despot and a sweat hog said that guns should be locked up, the sweat hog would have won. Carrie Prejean got a lot a grief in 2009 when she told a pageant judge that marriage should be between a man and a woman and was subsequently stripped of her Miss California title. The beauty pageant has become a politically correct corruption.

We’re told that we cannot expect optimal academic performance from hungry school children. Isn’t that precisely why we’re expected to provide breakfast and lunch at school?*

What can we expect of young ladies who NEVER eat proper meals? The starvation of these women is unhealthy for them and the younger females who look up to them.**

(* of course, there is the problem that the meals now provided – thanks to the wife of Soros’ sock-puppet – are unappetizing and/or of too small portions)

(** Honey Boo Boo is the exception)

I’d be scared to have her behind a gun, anyway!!!!

  • Gallatin

    Brainless twit.

  • wildwood15

So we FIGHT violence with….wet noodles? Therapy? Nerf bullets? Oh, wait. Is that VIOLENT? Oh, better still, a Ministry of Peace?

    • wildwood15

Or time travel. We could FIGHT VIOLENCE with time travel and stop people who from being VIOLENT by killing them first. Oh, wait. That’s VIOLENT. I’m so confused!

  • proudhispanicconservative

Dare I say the reason she won was because of her stupid answer, she is one of the ugliest, and not even in shape winner of all time, and I predict she will not even be a footnote to a footnote in Miss Universe.

  • JustLikeAnimals

I heard she was coached in her interview by the former Ms. South Carolina!!!! “I think the reason we have so many guns in this country is because people in the other country don’t have maps, like in the Iraq……”

  • dmacleo

    brain dead.

  • dmacleo

were the guards at the pageant armed with rainbow stickers?

Do you think anyone cares if you speak Gal

If guns cause violence, tiaras cause rank stupidity.

A “real” Miss America would be able to pick off a squirrel at 100 yards with the .22 plinking rifle her father gave her when she was 12.

    • aztectrumpet

Not everyone in America has the same culture. The ones who grow up shooting are a small percentage.

      • overboosted

I grew up in northwest NJ. Graduated high school in the mid-eighties, and carried my .22 rifle to school for the Jr. Marksman club after school. We had a firing range in the basement of the school, and kept our firearms in our lockers during the day. Nobody gave us a second look. Firearms weren’t taboo, and it really wasn’t that long ago. Look at what liberal progressives have done to our society…….

Remember, this was a northeast state, not Alabama or whatever stereotype people associate with firearms or a “gun culture”.

Problem isn’t guns in American culture, but the glorification of violence in certain American sub-cultures.

What a surprise she is from the state of New York

… so, now if you’re not in favor of guns in every school, you’re anti-gun? Wow, your standards keep pushing the envelope. The bright side is that it makes it super easy to know what you think.

And her comment about not “fighting violence with violence” is actually a Christian precept. Don’t know if there are any Christians that read this site, but it’s one of the beautiful and challenging notions of the religion that you all could stand to take note of.

Locking guns up when not on your person is something that should be done. I don’t get why twitterers are are complaining about that part.

NY can keep her and she can’t tap dance worth a #@!%*bleep.
Can’t wait to see the welcome she gets from the state of Alabama after her comments about “fitting in” better in NY.

“Like OMG guns are so like scary!”

Miss South Carolina should’ve won. Go, Tigers.

I think the first step to even being a contestant in the Miss AMERICA pageant…. should be to read the Constitution.

  • Judy B

Perhaps she should stop “thinking” until she’s better at it!

  • Colon Trowel

    “Twitchy” — code word!!

  • EastValleyConservative

Another bubble head destined for progressive stages everywhere. She’ll skip the weather desk and go straight to the news desk.

She’s against the 2nd Amendment of the American Constitution. What other amendments is she against, the 14th?

  • lainer51

    She pulled a “Hillary” –

Hillary made her home in Arkansas – became a senator for state of New York

Mallory Hagen grew up in Alabama, wins crown for “Miss New York”.
What an easy state to fool, obviously.

  • SamuelDolan

I’m a firm believer in peace through superior firepower

  • Barack Hussein Sharpton

Miss California get’s a gay marriage question when California voters are voting on gay marriage. Miss New York get’s a gun control question when a shooting tragedy takes place close to NYC. One contestant answers the question wrongly and loses while the other knows exactly what the liberal judges wants to hear and wins.

Miss America is nothing but a liberal agenda promoting tool nowadays.

  • Jason van Velden

People think the solution to shootings is more guns, which means more shootings. A dcent mother has a gun and her kid accidentally picks it up or does it with a purpose, that is how usa becomes a country with a lot of incidents compared to other similar countries…

  • Jason van Velden

Im from holland and hover here are far less i cidents, why? Cause there are far less guns……
