‘Emotional’ lib mistakes conservative’s Union Jack for Stars and Bars, cries racism

Yesterday, National Review’s Charles C.W. Cooke noted that liberals seem to have a consistency issue when it comes to requiring forms of identification:

That’s a great point. Unfortunately, it went over the head of lefty Twitterer @blessroxwell, who seized the opportunity to demonstrate that Cooke’s remarks were born out Confederate nostalgia:

This is the Confederate flag:

Confederate flag

And here’s the background she was referring to:

Charles C.W. Cooke's Twitter page

Notice anything … off? She didn’t:

Oh, and by the way, Cooke is a closet racist:

And basically a Klansman:

Cooke had to set her straight — and give her some advice:

We hear they’re doing amazing things with books these days.

Of course, even after @blessroxwell admitted her flag confusion, she was convinced her smears of Cooke were justified. Because fake but accurate:

Still, she did eventually apologize:

Modest, too.

She’s just an emotional work in progress, you see:

But Cooke had a different take:

Ignorance may be bliss, but it’s still ignorance.

Indeed. When the KKK was formed, it sought to restrict black gun ownership. Maybe @blessroxwell can read more about that now that she’s not so emotional.

Kumbayaaaaaa …

Might not be a bad idea to listen the next time around.

Yeah, that physical realm can be a real pain, what with its pesky facts and things.

Um, the Southern Cross flag DID NOT stand for slavery people – it is for the South and states rights. Learn the fact before you spout off!

    • mickeyco

We know this, Missy, but you’ll never convince a lib.

    • LibertyPhysics

The stars and bars was adopted as a battle flag by the Confederacy because the actual Confederate flag looked too much like the US/Northern flag and was confusing in battle.

      • rockdude

Well, the battle flag is not the stars and bars, the first flag of the confederacy, which was being confused with the federal flag, was the stars and bars. Blue field with starts, and three horizontal bars; two red, one white.

      • TexSizzle

The Stars and Bars is the “actual” Confederate flag, as you put it. The Southern Cross, the Confederate battle flag, is the flag pictured above.

        • LibertyPhysics

You are, of course, correct. I was being sloppy. But the main point is that the battle flag was not the flag of the Confederate States.

        • tredglx

Actually, the Confederate flag above is the Confederate Navy Jack: Used as a navy jack at sea from 1863 onward. This
flag has become the generally recognized symbol of the South.

    • EastValleyConservative

Exactly. But ignorant lefties will always use it as a crutch by which to accuse anyone they can of being a racist. As I stated above–her intent was to silence and destroy. (that is what the accusation of being a racist is about) Therefore, she can reap what she sows. Enough with liberal abuse.

  • twinx

Life is tough. It’s even tougher when you’re stupid.

    • http://twitter.com/Sincerly_oo Sincerely —

Yes, and did you notice that she protected her Twitter feed now?

      • twinx

I don’t care enough about that moron to even look!

  • kimvy

This person has a vote and there’s many more out there just like them.

  • SameJerkDifferentName

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! anything I might say would kill the buzz I got from that exchange

  • Joe W.

She needs a new recipe for preparing crow……

  • Lord Foggybottom

Hey, at least she admitted to being ignorant and apologized for her actions. That’s a hell of a lot more than can be said for most others these days.

    • FranklinWasRight

She seems like a decent person, just a typical product of our educational system. I’m related to several people just like her.

    • EastValleyConservative

She may normally be a nice person, but unfortunately, the hot button issue of the decade is “you are a racist!” which the intent of is to destroy an individual. With that intent, her apology means nothing, just shows she got caught and she is trying to save face a bit. If she is willing to go on a tirade and try to destroy someone else (and all based on her perception of a flag she incorrectly identified), she should deal with the consequences. (in this case, being highlighted in a high traffic forum where her stupidity is on display for all to see) The time is over to just accept progs and liberals abuse. Without knowing a person, they go on a rampage and again, their intent is to destroy and silence.

    • Bob Khan

I believe she saw her mistake and tried to just blame it on emotions to try and cover her own ass. She’s a typical “smart” liberal, they ALWAYS play dumb and look for the back door out when they are proven wrong.

    • tredglx

Remember: These are the Smartest People In The Room.™

  • Scott

Goodness, she doesn’t think a foreigner should defend our 2nd amendment rights, but probably doesn’t miss anything with piers”musket”morgan on trying to get the amendment changed as well as the bible!
    YOU CANT FIX STUPID

  • wwbdinct

I have to say that I am shocked and pleasantly surprised. Blessroxwell has to be the first liberal that I have ever known who actually admitted they made a mistake and apologized sincerely for it. No “non-apology” apology. I wonder what year it will be when I see that happen again.

    • SameJerkDifferentName

      Don’t hold your breath!

  • madhatter

Actually the flag in the question is the battle flag of the Confederate states of America not the offical flag of that country. It was at one time the battle flag of Tennessee. So before we even get into everything else lets get that straight

    • madhatter

      Isn’t isc what i meant

  • louisiana_mom

I guess flags are hard, along with math, economics, finding birth control, ……

  • mwill

    stop digging came to mind

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

I was thinking about the differences between an earthen excavation and a rectal orifice, and that @blessroxwell didn’t know any of them.

      • WisconsinPatriot

That is however an interesting analogy. Well couched.

  • http://www.facebook.com/bill.scalzo.5 Bill Scalzo

How exactly does a flag “shine” anyway?

    • mary kile

      with clorox.

  • ceemack

For the ignorant, emotion often substitutes for knowledge.

  • Michael Smith

One more internet predator shot down.

  • http://twitter.com/GeekyDawn Dawn

Instead of calling her stupid, we should give her the credit she deserves for giving a sincere apology. Something that is sorely lacking with most liberals. If we keep putting her down after she apologized, we are no better than all those ignorant liberals calling those who disagree with Obama’s policies racist.

  • orringtonmom (D)

at an olympic themed event last summer, i bought 4th of july decorations and taped union jack to them as decorations… i made a crack about it being unpatriotic and no one got it.

    • JustLikeAnimals

They probably thought it was the US Flag.

  • V the K

Piers Morgan has found his intellectual equal.

    • CynicOwl

She admitted an error, already surpassed Morgan’s capability.

  • Danny Wheeler

I guess @blessroxwell forgot about what happens to unhinged Tweets… simply put “Twitchy is for-evah!”

  • $36544368

“My emotions unbalanced me”? How about “my liberalism unbalanced me”.

    • JustLikeAnimals

I interpreted that as “I am emotionally unbalanced.” It seemed to fit. =)

  • JustLikeAnimals

I love it when dumb-ass libs puke all over themselves. Good entertainment.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Raven.Saint Sebastian Kelly

…and as always, when proved to be desperately uninformed about a great many things, we get the same old indignant sanctimony.

  • ozconservative

That reminds me of an situation I had when I was living in the USA. I had a bumper sticker on my Caddy of the Australian flag crossed with Old Glory. I got asked by a woman why I had the Confederate flag on the bumper of my car. I explained to her that it was the Australian flag which has the Union Jack in the corner and that the stars she saw represent the seven states and territories. She then berated me about how I WAS WRONG and how I must be a racist……

    Sheesh……liberals!!!!

  • $23629333

Folks, this is why birds of a feather DO flock together. You can be sure that all of the members of this woman’s flock are as just ignorant and emotional and prejudiced. That’s why it IS fair to judge someone by the company he/she keeps.

  • Marsh626

Yeah, the KKK was terrible for trying to keep guns out of the hands of black people. It’s not like they commit the highest violent crime rates in America or anything…

    • Infinite_Indeterminism

Different times, different situation – besides which, your reaction starts smelling racist. The problem isn’t blacks, it’s the whole ghetto problem with people on welfare systems designed to keep them there, publicly designed workplace barrier systems helping with this process, the relevant groups being diseducated by the high-quality public school system, a number of race baiters keeping them in check with their race-based group thinking…

  • bananafanafo

She seems decent I wish the person would realize OBAMA is starting this RACE WAR & they need to stop it! They need to deal with their emotions of an ERA that is GONE! Most of them DON’T EVEN know the true history of Black. Because if they did, they would know it was a BLACK MAN who was the FIRST ORIGINAL SLAVE MASTER! His name was Anthony Johnson in 1654! Before that the slave worked their entrance fee to America on the plantation. Then release and most of the time with a piece of property give to them! AFRICA was SLAVERY CULTURE, it was their way of life there!! The tribal leader decided to sell their people to the world! They took this out of the HISTORY books. I’m not sure if google still ALLOWS freedom of speech or if they have scrapped it! You can try googling.

  • GTFOBigGovt

Oh but I CARE SO MUCH, I get SO emotional. That’s why I’m an intolerant Liberal and that makes me better than YOU because you don’t care you only hate. And that’s why MY policies HAVE to be law, because I’m so good, and caring and speshul.

    Yeah, we get that.

    • AMSilver

For liberals, any sort of hateful, emotional rant is justified because they get emotional – and their emotions are based on how much love and tolerance they have. They can go off the deep end and still consider themselves a good person. However, if a conservative calmly advocates a different policy to fix a problem – woah! What an evil racist hater they are!

Mr. Cooke and these tweets have just given us the bible of liberalism.
